super impressive you made this in 10 days AND its your first game AND you didnt use any pre-made assets or sounds. i love pixel's model and animations (the indicator lights are especially adorable) and the whole style of the game is calming and cute, fantastic job.

Developer

Eeey, the Moth Dev! Thanks for dropping by. I am really happy you enjoyed it, gives me inspiration to work more on it amp up the cuteness ahah. Indicator lights are cool, thanks for noticing, I really wanted to add that car vibe to it!

Submitted(+1)

Love it, great cohesive style and character is pretty sweet. Looks like one to expand on and make into a bigger game

Developer

Thank you,  very excited to work more on it! More maps and maybe some driving levels too! Going to go play your game now too!

Submitted(+1)

Looks Amazing had a lot of fun playing it!

Developer

Thank you for giving it a go! Much appreciated!

Submitted(+1)

A very adorable game ! I really enjoyed playing it, and honestly it's very close to something finished in my opinion !

Developer

Nooo, that gives me so much hope! I really do want to rework and release the game on steam, I thought people would enjoy it. More as a cozy story mode game rather than difficult puzzle though. Good vibes only haha. Thank you!

This is SO CUTE!!! I loved the visuals for this, very impressive to get this level of quality in the time we had!! Pixel is absolutely adorable and the concept is super unique. CYMK girlie in the sky is so cool......

Gameplay was also very cute! Pixel has just the right amount of zip zoom that feels really good to move around in. The initial levels are simple but fun, when the cube gets introduced all hell breaks loose lol Im kidding though it is really difficult to nudge objects around with the amount of care some of the puzzles ask for. I think lvl 6 where the page goes blue was where I had to stop because it was too challenging but I still think this game absolutely rips in it's charm factor. Amazing work!!

Developer(+1)

Adorable to the max, thank you! I wish I had more time to refine but I limited myself on time and reworks to add more content in. CYMK girlie is Sam, she paints the little tiles so you know what colors to place there. I had voice lines for her but had to remove them due to time, she is moody but nice haha.

I think the cube is my #1 item to rework. I was worried the game would be too easy, but I will remove the tedious aspect of it. More fun and less punishment. At least there is no time limit! Thank you for making it so far, blue tiles are a pain, took me a while to finish that level as well!

Bubble bath

Duck bath

Awesome game, really. Had a lot more fun than I was supposed to x) Would love to see more of it, keep up the good work! :D

Developer(+1)

The ducks made playtesting very hard, as I would be sitting there and spawning them endlessly as well haha. Thank you for the screenshot, it is really cool to see people enjoying the mechanic I have built (without glitching out the game too, bonus). You can speed around and throw the ducks outside of the printer btw, very fun!

Submitted(+1)

Ooo I gotta try that x) Hopefully I don't get distracted too much with spawning ducks this time

Submitted(+1)

omg, I loved this one!! the idea is really original! the puzzle mechanic combined with the printer theme is just genious! I loved how clear you made things..  the visuals and style are very neat!! Solving the puzzles feels like 'brain massage'.. haha! while it feels cozy and relaxing to run around and paint things I love how there are stakes too... as the canvas get filled, the anxiety of stepping on the wrong tile really spiced things up!! I can see this one being a full fleshed game later.. 💪💪💪

Developer(+1)

I hope the tutorial helped! I played some games before when I absolutely got lost in the buttons and functions and everything, so the sparkles guide the way!

I am conflicted between cozy painting game and brain wrecking puzzle game (bigger intricate levels). Would like to make into a full game but this is my first game and my first jam. I would like to expand and add voice acting for the story mode, but not sure if it hits the right vibes yet.

Submitted

The tutorial run was great! Just the right amount of handholding without exposition 😘🤌✨

And don't be discouraged about this one being your first jam! We all have a first! And you got a SOLID product here!

You could actually pitch this one and I'm sure it has the potential to get some funding! 💪💪

Keep it up!

This is probably the most beautiful thing my PC has rendered - it looks AMAZING. Well done on the visuals. I enjoyed the gameplay - the rose level was tricky but I nailed it (maybe I missed something there, but I was dragging black paint while pushing that pink box around)

I had to call time on the heart level though as I didn't find a way to reset the board back to blue, I was very carefully pushing that black box around but eventually it'd bounce onto a blue square which meant a game over.

(of course please let me know if I was doing it wrong! Also what are the batteries for?)

Developer(+1)

Wow, you've gotten really far into the game, thank you for taking so much time to play it! The cube and the rose is a pain for sure. The later levels are meant to be painful and yes the blue tiles can only reset with the game restart (Pause menu with Esc). Mean to be one mistake and you're gone with the blues, so should not paint yourself until you get everything sorted with the cube first. (Cube painted, Pixel clean) Then it is easier to complete the levels.

The batteries were meant to be part of the speed boost and light for the dark levels but I couldn't figure out good mood lighting so I had to drop it for the jam. Otherwise you'd eat the batteries and they would light the colors you have to paint on. Thank you for the feedback and notes!

Loved this, great concept and visuals, the box of doom 10/10

Developer(+1)

I do need to polish the box of doom to be more collaborative, it was a pain to playtest it myself!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Wow that was super fun and challenging! What a unique idea and I love the animations up above you looking down!

EDIT (mild spoiler): I just started the level where you get a pink box and a little bin of soapy water. When I run thru the soapy water it erases everything on the page I’m printing. Is that intentional?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! That is Sam, she paints the little squares so you know which color to paint on the tiles #lore

Soapy water is the level reset button, it washes off all paint from the tiles and you if you shower with the ducks. Helps to quickly correct mistakes or reset the colors. Can help or be a pain :D

Submitted(+1)

Oooh I thought it was supposed to just wash off my tracks. Good to know!

Submitted(+1)

love the concept and it looks very well done. congrats on a very inventive game

Developer

Thanks! Breaking down stigma around printers being bad one Pixel at a time!

Submitted(+1)

Awesome little puzzle game - I'm impressed with how much you were able to do in the short amount of time!

Developer

Thank you, I would definitely put more energy and time into making the puzzles more difficult and interesting if I could!

Submitted(+1)

wow, very cool entry. the game looks and plays super well! The painting mechanic is satisfying, but I'm not so sure how brain-teaser-puzzly you can get with it without adding different mechancs, but maybe it doesn't have to be (if it should be more of a cosey vibe game). I have to confess I got sidetracked very quickly (in level 4 or so) by the locked doors and the cube and the batteries and the dark tent and the color circles in front of it and experimented with all of it for 20 minutes and I just couldn't find a secret or a way to open these door.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a go! I really liked the driving mechanic once I have built it and it felt more chill and fun to just paint tiles without too much puzzle to it. If I had more than 10 days, I wanted to add legs for cubes and a night time battery levels. Also with more complicated printing rooms to zoom around in.  Honestly I spent most of my time driving around painting the floor, so that is probably a better direction for the game to go in as  a cozy painting game rather than brain wrecking puzzle.

Submitted

and you absolutely nailed the driving and painting part. I'd love to hear some satisfying dynamic driving sounds with that, mmmh, that would take it to the next level.

Developer

I kid you not, I had 7 sounds in the final version but they all sounded very annoying when doing all 9 levels of the game so I had to cut them not to make ears sore! Sounds and music are truly an art - an art better done by artists haha. I loved your puzzle game btw, thanks for checking mine out.

Submitted(+1)

Really cute game. Good work, i really like the style

Developer

Thank you, will make it even cuter!

Submitted(+1)

Wonderful game! But you HAD to add the cube, didn't you? ;) The game was fun, though. I enjoyed solving the puzzles a lot. Some of them made me think. I did get frustrated. I wouldn't touch the platform to reset everything, but it still went off if I got too close to it.

Developer

Otherwise it would be too simple and might as well use the physics aspect! The cube was meant to be alive so this is easy mode. I would make the puzzles more complicated as small square room has limits. You went for the ducks, right? That's how the reset gets you. Haha, did want to add the option as a hinderance rather than help on further levels. Thanks for playing it! I do need to rework the cube.

Submitted(+1)

I love the environment and the game itself. It doesn't feel like a 10-day game but something that would take much longer, especially since everything was done from scratch.

The only "issue" I had was the speed, but I also enjoyed just running around and trying to drift lol

Developer

That is so cool to hear, I was worried it won't be enough! I logged my hours and recorded the process to make a devlog on my YouTube. Mostly so I can refer back to my notes and fix bugs haha. I left the acceleration in on purpose so you can zoom around and play with the physics objects (ducks and batteries) but it should be relatively slow if you don't hold down the W. I am glad the cube did not ruin your day, that one is a pain to paint with. Thank you for taking the time to download!

Submitted(+1)

Now I know why my printer is always running out of ink! Great graphics, wonderful take on the theme, enjoyable puzzling, cute character, this game has so much to offer! If I can offer some feedback, I'll say I didn't love the physics box part, it was too tough to control and interfered with the enjoyable puzzley route planning. maybe if it was very heavy and just slid across, or if you could aim/position it a little easier. When it got introduced, the chaos factor went up, so I really needed to know if the already pink tiles were supposed to be pink or if they were correctly colored, some distinction there after coloring would be helpful. All in all, this is a super creative entry and executed at a high level. Excellent work! 🖨️

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play and for a thorough response and feedback. I really appreciate it. The game scope could have gone much broader if I had more time to make dynamic levels with moving platforms and other components I had planned. I'm glad you enjoyed the cube, it is meant to be a pain! Actually, it was meant to have legs and run around painting anything until you drive it into a wall but I had some issues with animating it. Imagine that! Decals tracking on the paint marker is a fair call, I need to make sure the center (intended color) always stays visible. Maybe floating color icons, and not glossy floor squares. Fair point, I will adjust that!

Submitted(+1)

Ohh boy! I realy enoyed playing the game, it's just feels good

And I'm in love with the game environment!! Great job!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for giving it a go! I've really built the environment with more mechanics in mind, but that is not for 10 days haha. Did you spawn some ducks?

Submitted(+1)

Tons of em, I'm adding them to my duck army in the quest of conquering the world. 🦆🦆🔪

Developer(+1)

If the next game jam is about ducks, I'm on your team. No take backsies.

Submitted

As you command, duck Queen/King

Developer

Mallard just say, I'll agree to a parliament. We can wing it if you're feeling ducky.

Submitted(+1)

Great looking game! I really loved the concept. Controls were a bit too fast for me... Level 3 was hard because I couldn't control the pixel wel. Great looking game, awesome theme!

Developer

Thanks for giving it a go! Speed is fast, but mostly because I loved zooming around and knocking ducks out of the level. Will adjust it for a proper game haha

Submitted(+1)

Interesting colour puzzle game. Looks good too nice one.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Maybe I can expand on it with more cozy vibes
