Nice atmosphere and the music was good. I did find it tricky at the start to figure out the mechanics and that walkers need to defend the base.. a bit more guidance at the beginning would help a lot. The tile system is solid and the core idea is strong. Good foundation for a strategy game and it feels like there is a lot of potential to expand this further. Well done getting this much done in a jam.

Good space concept for strategy game. I appreciate your hard work on this one.

Really well designed game, I loved the atmosphere of the game and it played well. Maybe a bit more of a tutorial to make the game more clear. Well done though, this game has massive potential!

What an Atmosphere?!?

With a solid combination of turnbased movement and "sub"turnbased combat system.
Without a real story it is still a good game. Thanks to the graphics and the music, because they are perfect for the atmosphere. The challenge level is also good (especially in the beginning).

Good work!

Check and rate my game, when you have time.
Have FUN :3

This is really great work and a lot to get into a jam. Well done.

I liked the space setting. Like someone else said, I didn't notice in the beginning, that you could use walkers to defend. It could be expanded with more units or tile-types in the future.

This is very impressive. I love the look and feel of the game. I did have to go back and read the comments to see what I was missing as I kept dying at first and I didn't realise that I had to keep the walkers at the base to defend it. That may be my bad though. The game itself is really well designed and a lot of fun but I think it would benefit from a tutorial. It's a small thing though and something that can easily be implemented post-jam if you decide to continue with it (I hope you do). Excellent job!

Very impressive that you were able to pull off such a well made game in a Game Jam. Well done!

Been a fan of civilzation games for some time now so I had to try this, was really great!

I certainly wasn't expecting to see the makings of a 4x game in a game jam, but you certainly made an excellent start to one. I like the music, and you did well with the tile system. Very impressive!

Submitted(+1)

Definitely a great submission! Loved the music, and especially loved the tile system which is really well made!

A few points to improve on might be a clearer way to know a unit has a task(some icon rather than a question mark) as well as a tutorial to understand how the game works, or some more detailed instructions in the description of the game. A last thing might be some controls to turn the map as getting hexagons or seeing enemies behind the rocket can be difficult!

Otherwise nice job on this, really well done!

Good concept and definitely can evolve much further. Some on screen tutorials can help though

Good game but it would be better if you add in a simple tutorial to explain how everything works.

Nice game, with a bit of work i could loose days to this game! FOR FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS - needs a bit of hand holding at the start, tutorials etc,  once you get into it, it is a good game, its the getting into it thats the tough bit. Great effort for 10 days devving, look forward to see where this goes :)

Nice game. I struggled a bit at first to figure things out but once I understood the mechanics clearly playing the game was smooth. Congrats!

Even though it is a very good game, the rules are a bit unclear (at least for me). It takes a while to figure out the walkers need to be in center, otherwise you just lose. Having said that, it still is a very good game in  all aspects (appearance, mechanics etc.) ; good job!

Submitted(+1)

Ah… the walker can return to base if it is on a tile in the inner ring. The tile generation animation at the beginning is very cool. Nice entry.

Developer

Thanks for the comment, I'll make that clearer for new players!

It took me a couple of turns to realise that I needed my walkers to be in the center to defend the tower but despite that I got lucky with finding resources and won the game on my first attempt. Good concept and nicely implemented.

Developer

Thanks! I'll take note to make it more clear after this.

The randomness of the tiles (I think) and the lack of unit at the beginning makes it hard to start. Maybe the difficulty curve and parameters should be improved. But otherwise it's a great idea and game !

Developer

I agree, the balancing needs a lot more work haha. Glad you enjoyed it still!

It's great work! Unluckily, I often take the wrong path and end up getting consumed by the planet — or just end up with a healing pickup. I think it needs a radar feature or maybe an arrow to guide the player, so at least we can reach pickups and get more robots before the enemy arrives.

Developer

Heya, thanks a lot for trying the game!

The tower should be capable of attacking which helps with the difficulty, but it was broken previously. It's fixed now!
