I had the chance to rate it just 3 minutes before the deadline. Great game, nicely polished. I really enjoyed it. The only downside was the camera movement, but aside from that, the game was very pleasant to play. The graphics and music fit well together, and the whole experience feels cohesive. Congratulations on finishing the project!

Really liked the art and the environment, felt like it could have done with some more hints as to what the objective was, but really good submission!

I like these sorts of games and this one is quite polished, Nice work!

Nice work! Lots of fun to play and the music works really well

This is worth expanding

Really liked this game! The graphics were amazing, all the assets worked together so well and the art stood out. The concept was good and well executed. The knights were a bit confusing on how they spotted you but apart from that it was a challenging and fun game. Well done!

This is a cool game, I got too confident and died at the end, but it's a really nice one, Great job!

HAHAH How fun! Scored 442 till I got a little over confidant with my thieving abilities. I love it when I’m grab things right in front of a guard, then I duck into a bush and he just walks over and stares at the bush with a question mark on his face. Fun game!!

The game is fun, there are hidden soldiers, but the camera angle makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Nice and polished game! Everything worked really well together. I encountered a bug where you couldn't reach carrots and tomatoes that were positioned near walls. Also would've loved to see more content like what to do with the coins acquired and possibly traps to capture the player? Avoiding the knights was quite easy even if you get noticed you can just run and hide with no problem. Just spit balling ideas here, but another interesting mechanic would've been carrying the items and then selling them before getting coins but I guess that kinda changes a lot of the game.

Good job!

This is a good score, right? Right?

It was fun sneaking about but I'm unclear how the rules for the guards. Sometimes they'd run right past me without a second thought, other times they'd immediately give chase. Is their perception based on movement? 🦖

I know I can hide from them behind bushes and such, but getting into the buildings with so many guards running around in them is a different matter.

It was fun stealing everything I could get my hands on!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! That’s pretty good actually haha, my avg on play tests is 100-200.

So the guards Ai and game state flow is pretty simple. If the player is in the guard’s cone of vision AND the player is actively stealing (.3 sec duration every time you steal), the guard will add itself to an active guards list in the game state manager class and the chase game state gets initiated. If a guard is chasing the player and loses sight, it will go to the player’s last seen location and survey around. After surveying for 10 sec without seeing player, guard returns to patrol and removes itself from the active guards list. The game state manager checks to see if any guards are still actively chasing, if not, then it returns to the main gameplay game state.

Ah, I see! The first time I alerted a guard I tried running far away rather than hiding, and this triggered more guards to chase me. That gave me the false impression that all guards were predisposed to target me whether I was actively stealing or not. Or, at least, that's how I remember it happening. :)

Now that I know the secrets I'll be unstoppable...!

... well it's progress.

haha that was nice man, those guards are so mad about their fruits xDD , that was nice experince and the art style , music and gameplay was insanely polished and well done, Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I’d probably be mad too if someone walked inside your house and stole your tomatoes

Really liked this one! Great music, awesome art style and good mechanics for the thief and guards. Really love the map design which is well done and challenging(especially in the castle).

Great job on this!!

I really like the art. So cute.

I enjoyed this. I like sneaking games. It took me a bit to learn that the bushes hide you. Maybe something on the camera that lets the player know they're hiding would have been helpful, like a darker vignette.

Really slick package! The protagonist, and the game. Had a lot of fun with this one. Was not expecting a sneak 'em up in the game jam. Good work!

Very cute looking game, love the fact you can hide in the bushes and it was obvious that the npc's lost track of you which was great. Would love it if you had an inventory and could sell the items on the black market though but that's just a feature suggestion. Really enjoyed the game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!! Great suggestion. I like the idea of a shop and inventory. I wanted to implement something like that, but atlas like every game jam, there was not enough time haha

Completely understood! A/C meets Links awakening, love it :)

so the trees and camera annoyed me. imho what you could have done is camera raycast and make the trees that get touched transparent so you could see through. having to rotate camera all the time while trying to run away from the guards was a struggle. i was also a bit confused at why there was like 1000 thiefs around there. maybe could have been more imersive if there was only you, and you have to do missions to try and steal things away from target poi of interest. the music was cute, but it made the game feel cheezy and less serious. not sure if thats what you were going for or not. i definitly played till i got to steal i believe what was everything on the map. maybe i missed something because i got no completion notice.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes I did have a script in the making to make camera obstacles transparent, but I did not have enough time. I really had to focus on other core game features, and proper game states. Great suggestion though! Also yes the theme of the BGM is sneaky and cute and almost child like because of the miniature style i was going for. Much like Legend of Zelda Link's awakening remastered or LittleLands (indie game in the making), I wanted the characters to seems like they're toys. I'm surprised you stole everything! Not even I could do that after several playtesting. Thank you for playing though, your feedback is appreciated!

Terrific game, so polished and tight :) Especially loved the level design, the area on the right where theres a little maze! And the great gameplay was complemented so well by the beautiful art, music and sound effects! Amazing work, well done :)

Thank you!
