Theme interpretation
Humanity always triumphs over adversity. Losing Earth? No sweat! Orb•it shares more with a “moonshot” than just the moon you shoot into orbit: it’s about humanity’s bold and daring spirit.

I found this to be fun and innovative.  Good creativity.  I'm a novice so it was a bit hard for me at first but then I got it.  Fun!

Cool atmosphere! Reminds me of flOw

Cool immersive atmosphere created! Even being quite challenging you’ve manage to create a really chill and non frustrating experience. The controls are simple and smooth, together with the polished physics make the game really enjoyable.

Well done!

Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun playing MoonHop.

Wow, remembers me of Osmos, the ambience, the music, the graphics... The puzzles are quite difficult, specially once you get the "heavy" moon. Amazing work, kudos!

Developer

Thank you so much. Osmos is a great game so that means a lot!

Simple but effective art and sound. Really liked, great work!

This is super cool, but is way beyond my level of skill.

Submitted(+1)

Liked the game with the physics and the sound. It is a bit difficult to try to achieve the precision the game requires tho. What I wanted to learn is I opened this game a few days after I first played it, but it still started from the level that I last left it. How did you do this?

Developer(+1)

I used unity's player prefs to save an int after completing a level and then load the level based on that int whenever a player hits play. There are a few reasons not to use player prefs (they are easy to manipulate from what I have heard). Brackey's has a good video explaining a more secure save system.

If you want to use player prefs you can check them out here! https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/PlayerPrefs.html

Thanks for the direction!

"Year 2244. Cyberpunk finally released." Nice, made me chuckle. The game is pretty difficult and tricky to master! But I really like the chill atmosphere it has. Definitely lost some time playing this one. Nicely done!

Love it, one of my favorites in the jam so far.

Fun to play and kind of addicting.

Art looks good and the sound design is GREAT!

Nice Job :D

Well done.  The gravity-based gameplay is interesting and fits the game jam theme well.  I liked the music and sound effects.  The game was a little too difficult for me to really enjoy.  I destroyed many moons. :)

Developer

Thank you! I spent a lot of time thinking about the theme. I have also destroyed many a moons in my time.

I made it all the way to the level where you have to make the big moon go around Jupiter and onto the even bigger earth when I accidentally closed the tab. I must know how close I was to beating it. It is a pretty addictive game. The calm atmosphere combined with the difficult gameplay reminds me of Getting Over it. Great job!

Developer

It should save your progress but I will look into that! It sounds like you're on level 16 or 17 of 28. Thank you so much for playing.

Submitted(+1)

It did save the progress! I didn't check cause I was so annoyed with myself for closing it. You are my hero.

Clean, elegant and well polished game, but went for the same style for my game, so I may be biased :-p
I didn't manage to pass level 6, but I saved the game to my collection, so that I can finish it after the rating period ;-)

Very nice job!

Developer

Thank you for playing and adding to your collection. How did you do your math for the orbit in Moonarchists? Fun game btw.

Submitted

For Moonarchists I implemented a "cartoonish" physics for the sake of keeping the planets stable and easier to hit.

For each planet, I attract them to the black hole (and bullets are attracted to planets to make it easier to hit) https://github.com/renato-grottesi/moonarchists/blob/main/Game/Universe.gd#L85

Then I use Godot's impulse functions to interact with the physics engine: https://github.com/renato-grottesi/moonarchists/blob/main/Game/CelestialBody.gd#...

Such a simplistic, but fun and challenging game. Great job!

holy cow...
Me to my wife "This is the last one I'm trying tonight."

20 minutes later

Wife: "Are you coming to bed?"

VERY fun and challenging.

Addictive and creative gameplay

Ditto Moon Slasher! Loved the "Genji-Like" ability that resets after kill. It encourages aggressive play and rewards skill.

Probably would be good but is way too hard

Pretty fun game and I love the art!

I love the sound design for this game, I keep coming back to it! Well done

Thank you!!!(:

Your game is what I would call a perfect gamejam game. Quick to pickup, simple but fun and solid game mechanics. Great job on the audio, I like how what happens in the game contributes to the soundtrack. I had a great time playing it, I'm trying to finish it but the later levels are very hard.

Developer

Thanks so much glad you enjoyed the audio those interactions were exactly my goal! -Dylan
