You can't control when to swap powers. It swaps after some time or when hurt. There is a bug making the game harder than it should be. Please read the description in the game page :)

Great job with the art, felt nice to play! Good job!

Developer

Thanks!

The pixel art is awesome, good work! I liked the idea too, it fells like a metroidvania in a way, and I like it. Some enemies I wasn't able to figure out how to avoid it's shots, but I'm certainly that with a little more polish after the jam this game can become a real good full game! I hope to see more of it in the future!

Hey! Level designer here! Yeah, I have to agree, the difficulty ramps a little fast in our game lol. Unfortunately, I made the music for the game first, and ended up making the level design in the last few hours. I tested all rooms, but played the game as a whole only after the developing time ended. Obviously, its way easier playing one room at a time lol.

Anyways, hope you had some fun with it! We are already working on a full release, an this and other flaws are getting fixed. Thanks for your feedback, it helps a lot!

This game is very well made. The mechanics are really good, and I loved the art style too. Well done!

This game looks and sounds very very good :) I loved it !
It's amazing what you have done in 48 hours with Pico-8 !

Submitted(+1)

This was soooo cute! I love the art and UI. Great job, all around!

Amazing  game! The power design is very interesting! Just can't remember the every icon and power but it's not a big problem.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! In the post-jam version I'll probably distribute the powers in several levels, so the player will have more time to get used to each power. Thanks for the feedback!

Amazing game. Only thing that prevents me finishing the game was that bug :'(. But the graphisc were gorgeous, the audio was very polished as well and the amount of different powers and rooms is fascinationg, considering this was a 2-day game jam.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I was a fairly easy to fix bug, but I was 7 minutes too late to post the fixed version xp

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, the time was biggest enemy in this game jam. My game almost named Litle Bit Out, instead of Little Bit Out. But it is not as a big deal as a game bug.

Amazing! I always love a well-made PICO-8 game and this is one of them. The controls feel nice and responsive, the graphics and sounds/music are great. Well done!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Awesome visuals! Awesome music! Strong Megaman vibes, I feel like you're really pushing Pico 8's capabilities here. I did have some trouble specially at the beginning identifying enemies and hazards, like the spikes and the jumping screw, maybe a different color would make them stand out a bit. Really great job!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the cronstructive feedback! I'll try to improve it for the post-jam version  :)

Submitted(+1)

Did you created all alone? That's insane! The game is so good, just fix that bug and it should be shipping material already!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I made all the graphics, sfxs and programming and my brother made the music and level design. I didn't sleep much during the jam though hahaha :)

Submitted(+2)

Even though we both submitted a PICO-8 game, it is obvious that you have much more skills than me at using it! The game is beautiful and the swap mechanics is a nice incentive to play every power-ups. I can't imagine all the time spent in the level design to make it work with all the movement powers!

Hey! Musician/level designer here. Glad to know you noticed it, your comment made my day! :D Actually I was meant to only make the music for the game, but we where running out of time and I ended up making all level design in the last few hours. It was my first time doing level design, so it was really stressful to make it so fast!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words :)

I love the art for this game so much. And that water reflection animation is simply gorgeous.

And that soundtrack! I'm in love with those pitch bends!

In terms of gameplay, pretty fun. Although I do wish there were more checkpoints.

Reminded me of kirby return to dreamland.

Hi! Musician/level designer here. Glad to hear that  you liked the music! Comparing it with kirby is a very good compliment! :D

About the checkpoint.. Yeah, I misplaced the last one so it wasn't working. :( Too bad, if you die in the last screen, the game sends you back to the toughest section. I only noticed it after the voting phase started. We already fixed it for a post jam version, but it seems to bother a lot of people here (and with good reason).

Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! :)

I love the art, it looks really good. It's also very fun to play. The overall style of this game is very impressive with how it all works together.

Developer

Thanks! :)

wow this was really fun to play, awesome game dude

Developer

Thank you very much!

I love the cohesive theme and the way this game plays, it's like a mini metroidvania.

Developer(+2)

Thank you! The world needs more metroidvanias, hahaha :)

Submitted(+2)

Wow this game has a lot of style. Music was fun, sounds were great, but a little bit piercing sometimes. Overall solid entry.

Developer(+1)

Thanks :)

This game is gorgeous. PICO-8 games often are. I especially like the background, very pretty.

Gameplay wise I would suggest not using X and Z for controls because for some players (myself included) they are not next to each other on the keyboard (for my layout Z and Y are swapped, so my Z is next to T).

But I was able to play around that hurdle and still have my fun with your game.

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Thank you! There's not much I can do about the controls, it's standard for pico-8 (you can also use C/V or N/M instead of Z/X)... I didn't know about different keyboard layouts, thanks for the hint. You can use a controller in pico-8 games too, in case you play another one later :)

Submitted(+1)

Sadly I don't have a controller at the ready. But the tip with using C and V is great, thanks for that.

Kinda weird acutally that pico-8's standard controls are X and Z, I'd have thought they know about different keyboard layouts...

Developer(+1)

Just found out N/M work too, in case it helps

Submitted(+2)

Really nice looking and cool music. It's a bit hard, but then notice afterwards the warning :D

Developer

Thank you! Nasty bug XP

Submitted(+2)

First of all, 5 stars on everything. The mood of this game is fucking amazing. Everything play's perfect and the mechanics variation keeps the experience fresh from start to finish. Love your game, congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm rooting for you!

Submitted(+2)

Really well put-together - lots of polish and the controls feel very well-tuned! Reminds me a lot of Megaman. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much!

Of course! We'd love your feedback on our game as well. SpaceBus
