A volleyball

It has to be Wilson or some varient of that brand

They can add storm, lightning bolts that burn buildings, and have tornadoes and whirlwind, the tornados would pull you to water if you have no protection and knock down the coconut trees. And the whirlwind would pull you away from its construction if you had it in the water, also affecting the shark. They can add scuba diving, going down there to get gold or crystal ores, making constructions the gold could make a machine that made the time and make a better spear, the crystal could make windows. You can add a shark trap construct with 10 gold, 30 fish and 25 boards, and the shark would get stuck there without being able to escape but the construction would break after use. You can add events from more than one shark to appear among other creatures, such as Kraken. They can add boat, but I am without idea the utility, if reading this far you decide your game is very good. And finally you can add viruses like fever and flu, and you need to make medicine to heal yourself. All these events like tornado multiple sharks can only be active after a few days in the game for the player to prepare.

Xbox please

Make it on xbox 1 too ill test it and tell you if it works smoothly and be cool to play with a controller.

Their should be an objective. I don't really know what, but their should be one.

configurable controls and items to stack up to more than 10. Maybe 25 or so...

It could be cool if you could add the option to remove the shark so i can enjoy the game without worying about him,and fish net to catch fish while youre busy with other stuff, and the ability to make spikes to put on the raft so the shark will go away right after it will start bitting, and finding other random abandoned rafts floating around and being able to throw your hook to make it stationary and go get loot from it

Maybe an indication of when the shark is attacking. Or more defenses against shark. OR more things that can kill you.

(1 edit)

no just no i think the game is already hard enogh

By the way love the name

I had an idea of being able to find some new types of meat, within barrels perhaps, then being able to use that meat to throw and distract the sharks so you can successfully kill them.

all the obvious things

exploration of the sea

islands

boats

HIGH TECH STUFF(so something like automatic stuff)

random tides and disasters

whales and more dangerous stuff(whales because tides and stuff)

The game at the moment is already very wonderful and definitely worth playing, but there are always things that could be added to make gameplay better. If it be performance, visuals, items or objects.

I wanted to make a list of what could be added in to the game

- Add multiplayer/coop option (with Player Vs Player enable/disable options and such)

- Add different weapons that are slightly stronger against the shark, but will also require more stuff to craft them (axes, throwing spears, etc.)

- Make the raft moveable in the water and anchorable

- Add in randomly generated islands to gather supplies and resources from (cannot build on islands would also be a good idea)

- Possibly add in a sandbox game mode?

- Add different types of materials for different things (iron, gold, stone, glass, etc.)

- After killing the shark, make it so it doesn't spawn again for about 3 minutes, to add for relief and relaxation

- Add a difficulty setting... Easy, Normal, Hard and extra Survivor modes

- Add in new and usable building objects such as beds/sleeping bags, campfires, wall torches, etc.

- Make it so you can see underwater and also be able to swim underwater

- Add in other wildlife/AI such as swimming fish, squids, octopus, and even land creatures like bears, wolves, crabs, etc.

I have many more ideas if you would like any more, just contact me on Facebook or Twitter and let me know, cause I would truly love to see this game expand and to be able to see the game become something incredible. :) :D

(+1)(-1)

One Really good idea would be upgrades like the floor of your raft can go from wood to stone to metal to concrete to titanium and to a point of where there may be an un-destroyable (by the shark) upgrade, but you would still need to balance the cost of some of these to were an unbreakable floor would cost like 100 of all materials, please also add durability to tools so there is a point of making multiple items. One last thing, Armour to make it easier to survive against the shark, and with that accessories with various bonuses (e.g increased stats like food water and health).

-TehMajestickStick

I love this idea! Especially since scrap seems to be in great supply and not much to do with it after the inital beginning where the cooking station, tools, and water purifier is made

(+1)

thank for ur co-operation i thought this idea could really be used effectivly in the game

Hey please very very much to add in this game more materials:

-STONE

-GOLD

ALL TO MAKE MORE TOOLS

IRON AND BATTERIES

(+1)

They Should Add More Furnitures

Like If You Agree!!

By The Way I Like The 1.5 Updates!

Hi,

After many hours of gameplay, Here is my suggestions :

  1. Add more difficulty, Add a real challenge
  2. Shark trap, if we don' t move in the water, shark don't attack us.
  3. More realistic wood, how i can made a pillar with some sticks ? Pillar must be a real tree trunk
  4. If we cross with a big trunk, it will destroy our fondation
  5. Add some catastrophes (big waves, wind...) and after that, lot of remains on the sea
  6. A bed, for fatigue, the need of sleep ...
  7. Making a flag (for rescue)
  8. Add seagulls !! more aquatic animal : jellyfish, whale (rare) !! octopus, dolphins !!
  9. More tools : knife, fishing net, field-glass ...
  10. Add the possibility to go under water
  11. Add some clothes : protection of the sun, the cold ..
  12. Add Rain, and the possibility to collect it
  13. add a sailing, for moving the raft if we see a Distress rocket, or a mirror reflection...
  14. random plane ...
  15. Add paper trash, ink octopus, fish bone, and when at the end of the day we go to sleep, write/draw a page journal, with all the even of the day. When we died, we can read the journal.

Surviving :

  1. Add the possibility to make a bucket, with that we can drag the underwater sea for bring some worms, for fishing (to easy)
  2. Add a way to craft some dirt, it's to easy for growing crops.
  3. It's too easy to grow crops, too fast. Add the need to water them. Add a Humidity indicator
  4. Improve the way of making pure water, real Watermakers
  5. Find a way to made some fire and the need to had firewood for feeding the fire

Construction :

  1. More realistic physique for the construction, it's a raft, not a building ...
  2. the possibility to add a ceiling (same as the floor) don't need to add a pillar for that (and for water collect)
  3. add a door, when the weather is bad, for shelter.

Flotting remains :

  1. Add plenty of different remains, with some rare items
  2. can, tin, drum, water bottle, canteen, churn
  3. water bottle with letters in them, possibility to make one
  4. stick, old trunks,
  5. rare random drift wrecks with plenty of stuff inside
  6. raft, like us, with a body ...
  7. Twisted net, trash, paper, clothes ..
  8. Fruits ; apple, coconut, banana ...

Nets are way too overpowered once you get enough of them, destroys the resource balance, maybe making them harder to make/making them upgradable would help? Like the first level nets would only catch 20% of items and then upgrading them with things like scrap would increase that

can you please add doors to the game it would be so awesome plss :)

(1 edit)

You know I can see this game growing into what millions of people will want to play. So to help out, I got a few suggestions of my own to help you all out, and expand your game content.

1. Make it so that we can dive into the water so we can see things like coral revives, spear fishing would be cool as well.

2. Add a sail and steering wheel to the game, so that players will have an opportunity to ride the raft that they have built along the may miles in the ocean.

3. Add some land content to the game, not much but just enough to find things like animals, and bananas on the trees.

4. When land content is added, make it so that we can take those animals back to are raft, and breed them, for thigs like leather and food.

(1 edit)

Hey Developer!!! Thanks for the awesome game. I downloaded for free but will be making a donation soon. Raft 1.05 is AMAZING! (my computer absolutely sucks so water quality is at 0 to keep running at 6 fps) I had an idea:

  • Make motorized rafts where you have to refill it with gas tanks (which would be found drifting past the raft, rarely)
  • Make the ocean underwater explorable, with limited oxygen
  • Could you make more objectives (like SUBNAUTICA) where you have to find a blueprint for an item before you can build it? (the pieces of the blueprint would drift by until you collected all of the pieces (and more pieces would be required for the more complicated items))
  • can you make a bed to sleep through the new night cycle?
  • One more thing- just keep up the AMAZING work!

My suggestion is to add some mechanics, or objects, that make the upper parts useful. Now you only make a higher floor, because it looks nice.

Ideas :

1 - Add full character because the shadows show me just the hands

2 - Add very low graphics for some people who have bad pc

3 - If you want add weather like rain

4 - Thx

I would like the shark to change its difficulty every time it dies, because after a while the shark is no worries for the player, thank you.

Please add a sleep option (with a bed that in order to craft you will need wood and silk that can be crafted with thatch)

Love ur work! (∩☉ᗜ☉)⊃━☆゚.*

it is possible to disable the shark?

or maybe make it for a game mod

actually some ideas

-a storyboard might be nice (but its not timed or anything its kinda like a side quest maybe not like a must do to continue thing like if you want you can do this and learn about what happened that cause you to live on a raft and all that)

-like sometimes when you find islands some people will join you if you find something or help them like cure htem feed them give them water and all that

-some islands can be habited by either hostile or neutral or friendly or depending on your behavior natives and some islands ccould be inhabited and some could just host one person like the player stranded in an island

-other people on rafts just like the player stranded like a neighbor that may join you like join ships together

-you can attend those people with jobs but you should give them the appropiete tools like for example for the defending the shark task you should igive them a spear and for other jobs and all that

-there could be a civilization system like if you decide to live on an island with friendly natives if you be very nice to them they will choose you as their chief but that is a rather very far away thought to think

-metal upgradation

-other metals

-melting smelting blacksmithing and armormaking

-marriage like if you marry a chief's daughter or son then you will be the tribe's next queen/king

-taming animals

-range tools

-a blueprint collecting system like if you find a blueprint or a part of the blueprint of a musket on an island or underwater(add a diving option) then if you collect it or all the parts you will be able to craft that

-but basic items will be still already in your mind so you dont need to collect blueprnts of water purifiers or cooking stations and etc

-a sailing system either by sails or if you find the blueprintS of a motor

-other vehicles that could be used in islands

-cities like harbors and all that

-mythical creatures (you decide I want you to vote if you want or not )

-hostile sailors

-friendly sailors

-neutral sailors

-fishing nets

-crabs and crab nets

-fertilizer

-fish growing place and crab growing place

-safety boats

-oxygen tubes

-googles for underwater vision

-to island boats these are used to go to an island they are small like safety boats you row them to the land

-fire mechanisms like you can scare some wild animals or use to hunt some wild animals

-and weather of course

-roofs

-docking to another ship

-docks like you can either build a dock on an island or you can dock to an already built dock

----------------------------

(BTW if you see this line that means I am just noting and the ideas are above that line and below it is jsut notes)

well if I have have anymore ideas I will let you know if you want or you could tell me a topic and I will produce ideas about it

Hope you didnt get bored from my long list

Regards,

Yusuf Eren Eroğlu

I think editable signs will be cool for example: Making big storage

What about door frames and doors for multiplayer (mods) or for making real houses it will look very cool and give another use for nails

Hello I'm actually doing a Youtube Series on your game and I absolutely love it! I love the newest updates. I think the weather cycles like Notreamitielove suggests would be great. Maybe if possible add birds flying around.

A friend of mine thinks it would be cool to be able to dive underwater. I think being able to make shark armor would be cool so that you can swim out to get things with less risk of dying from the shark attack. Maybe after a certain period in the game add more sharks that attack at once than just the 1.

More items that we can cook, and grow

(1 edit)

I think that some thinks that could be added for future updates could be that the shark can't attack at night since it is hard to see, a ship should be able to be built to go fishing or go to an island maybe. Also, maybe you could sit in the chairs to reduce fatigue. it would be cool if you could add a defense to your raft for a large cost, like spikes or nails.

I think some new fish would be good like the mackerel is good but something like a salmon or tuna is good too.

Water could give life!!!

Water could give life!!!

(1 edit)

I've enjoyed playing Raft quite a bit. It's very addicting. Still, it does set my imagination churning, so here are a list of things a friend of mine and I came up with that we'd love to see in game. The list is pretty much kept to things that could be implemented without messing with the core mechanics of the game (That is, the raft floating along on the ocean).

  • Flow of debris should lessen over time as you 'move away' from the supposed wreckage. Not too quickly, as the player should still have a chance to get seeds and food drops, but eventually, it shouldn't be all that much flowing past the raft.
  • A possible increase in number of sharks over time (attracted by the blood of their cousins or the blood of the player), with a maximum number of three or four. (Or a setting allowing the player to set the maximum).
  • Building a composter and using seaweed/ thatch/ food to turn into compost, and make compost a necessary component for cropplots and tree cropplots. (Would make it harder to get cropplots and tree cropplots, encouraging players to find alternate means of feeding themselves - like fishing and shark hunting :P - until the compost is finished).
  • Item nets should break off or take damage if too many things accumulate. Maybe a system so that if an item has been in the net for a given period of time, the current will eventually tear the item loose again, damaging the item net some amount. Or have it based on amount of items caught in the item net, perhaps.
  • Weather would be a nice thing. Rough waters that might snap off bits of the raft, if it's too rigid (that is, if the floor area is too large). Scorching sun that might cause sunburns unless you've built shelter. Freezing nights that could send you into hyperthermia, unless you've made something to heat yourself by or maybe created some kind of clothes from debrised canvas or other materials.
  • The possibility of tying smaller rafts together with rope, to lessen the risk of things snapping off in rough weather.
  • The possibility that you might get washed overboard in rough weather unless you're either inside a four-walled shelter, or you've anchored yourself with a rope to something on the raft.
  • A randomised amount of crop when harvesting. 1-4 for potatoes, 0-1 palm seeds from coconuts, and beets have to stay in the cropplot til they seed in order for the player to harvest those seeds, at which point the beet is useless as food, but the player gets 2-4 beet seeds.

Suggestions for additional types of items and debris: Bits of canvas, seaweed, crates of oranges (anybody up for debilitating agony and rotting gums with the complementary loose teeth? No? Have some vitamin C ^^), orange pips (3-6 per orange, but hard to get to mature into an orange tree, maybe add watering as a necessity).

Suggestions for player settings: The option to set the passing of time. Currently the time it takes for the player to get hungry and thirsty is terribly fast. As are the growth times of crops (which is rather necessary with the rate at which the player goes hungry, I guess). Making a setting where the player can choose the length of game day and then making hunger, thirst, and crop growth-rate scale to the setting would be great.

To not erase everything that was in my chests/ my inv. Thanks for wasting 2 hrs

I think you took a wrong turn, sir. Bug reports are back the way you came and two stickies down.

A story mode ? maybe ?

You should add in signs

Currently, if you want to make a even room with a floor on top in raft, you frequently come across the problem of having to put 2 pillars together to make a full floor. This is purely for aesthetics, but I would like to see a way to put a pillar in the middle of 2 foundations/floors. This pillar would do the job of 2 pillars next to each other.

(+1)

When you arrives in a stage of the game it stay boring. It should have more difficult objectives. (sorry, I don't speak english very well)

I Would like to see rain in the game

(+2)
  • Water tank to keep purified water.
  • Some Sort of defense against sharks
  • different kinds of fish for different levels of health and food
  • Bed to sleep through night
  • Bow and Arrow, Harpoon, and other weapons for defense against shark
  • Torches on walls
  • Shark Shouldn't be able to eat through walls
  • Fishing net
  • Row Boat
  • Backpack for more inventory space
  • Sit in chairs and put food on tables
  • Signs
  • Campfire
  • Engines for Boat
  • Solar panels for power
  • Lights

1. Very good idea, maybe some kind of bigger cans like a whole 5 liter bottle?

2. The spear is a thing, but if you mean like a bow or something then it's a good idea aswell

3. Pufferfish could be something that should not be eaten, which is also cool

4. Minecraft, but I kinda like it, the only consequences would be losing one foundation, simulating that the shark attacked.

5. Same as 2. but the Hook we have could also be a thing for example another fishing item

6. That kinda makes no logic since walls are made out of thatch, which is really thin

7. Yup.

8. It could be tossed like 5 times longer but catch 5-6 fish

9. Kinda useless(?)

10. YES! Would be kinda hard to craft, eg 5 metal, 20 thatch,

11. Cool, but kinda not useful in any way, the food could get rotten if it was on the table for long enough.

12. Maybe multiplayer feature?

13. Good idea, it could cook alot faster.

14. The game should have fuel aswell, but useless(?)

15. Maybe if after like a long period of time the items on the water are better, resulting in extra stuff like fuel, a gun (would be good to shoot out the shark and then hook him to you to get his meat)

16. We have torches...

Yess!! We need all of this!

I Would like to see sleepy in the game

Hello developer, thank you first of all this beautiful and exceptional game, the idea that I had and you could add would be: "A multiplayer mode" Please, I beg you. See you soon for a new idea. ;)

For the small development team that they are, multiplayer is probably the hardest thing to create and i think that they said that they don't intend on adding a multiplayer very soon.

Ok, in any case thank you for having answered me and I look forward to the news updated, see you soon.

(+1)

The spear should be able to reach items from a longer range than a hand, rare items, the shark should not respawn immediatelly after killing

Hello!
I suggest and I would like in game number of items to be higher. I mean instead of 10 items intro house more. If you like the idea answer?

What do you mean?

Suppose we say we have wooden corner 10 but want to increase that number to collect as much as I can. You understand what I mean?

Ahh yes, I get what you mean! Yes I'd like that too!

Radio! would be fun :P

New sorts of fishes, maybe some poisening fish and add MUSIC! A nice little enjoying soundtrack :)

Make more furniture: Chair, table, bed. And also do that you can sit on chair, place something on table and sleep on bed.

Add more animals: Seagull, dolphins.

Maybe a little story at start

Some small island aroundWeather: Rain, storms

Nice game. I like that

(1 edit)

The developers of the game could already start looking for a way to translate the game into several languages (I am from Brazil, my language is Portuguese). They could be available in Spanish, Japanese, Russian, German and others.

I made a translation of ReadMe.txt into Portuguese, but no big deal, they should apply other languages to the game!

↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓

ReadMe (Portuguese add)

Um I think the programmer is Turkish right Semih Parlayan and I am Turkish too so I guess this is a project made by friends from different countries yay

I love this game, but personally I think that the biggest problem with this game is that its a little like all the other survive-and-craft games out there. One way to make this different, I think, is to take it down the "tower defense" route. Imagine upgrading your raft and weapons, with the sharks getting more frequent and more dangerous. I like the idea of traps ( falling rocks, nets ect. ) maybe? Maybe intense combat with sharks, in the late game.

I agree with everyone, exploring more and mabye finding islands and suken ships would be VERY neat!

Some ideas from me and/or some others: More buildings (bed, crate [a cheap chest with less storage], strong pillar [a much more expensive version of the pillar that can hold more floors], ladder, door, fences), a new rare item (crashed plane part/crashed boat part: a very rare item used for crafting), diving with new underwater items (corals, stones, fishes, crabs, squids for ink (a crafting material) dangerous animals like a ray or a shark and some other things), a new plant for medicine, achery and maybe a backpack.

I think some/many players will be extremly happy if you add some of this suggestions.

Sorry for my bad english but im not from america or other english landscapes.

Yes everything you said is awsome. Especily using a bow and arrow.

Thanks for supporting my reply.

You should make an object maker so it will be easier to make mods, like a program i mean and not part of RAFT

(+1)

How about crabs? I feel like they would be a perfect way of dealing the with whole Net solves all your problems thing, Crabs could Possibly come onto your raft and steal food from chest and cut your nets off your raft Plus you could pick them up and and either toss them in the ocean or cook them. And maybe Orange Jelly fish? They could be a last resort for food and hurt you in return for a dead Jelly that you can cook, You'd have to use a spear to catch them though. And for some Items/pets how about a small pen That you could put some turtles in. Maybe? (I hope this sparks some intrest! Espicaly the crabs!)

Cool ideas

Made

-Bed (sleep through the night, lose no food/ water) 2String 3Thach 3Planks

Parasol(Gives shade) 4Thach 1Plank

Found

-Charms(increase speed or something else for 1 day)

-Pearl(Purely cosmetic)

Other stuff

Sun(It's a meter that decreases very slowly during the day, recovers when in shade or at night)

I have an idea. And if your building team did these items: door, some sort of long-range weapon (wooden), a 2-player co-op on the same boat, window, rare items from the sea. I think everyone would like more

signed:tutorials2w

I think you should add bowls and soup like beetroot soup and potato souo for more food instead of just cooked beet an cooked potato

I think you should add bowls and soup like beetroot soup and potato souo for more food instead of just cooked beet an cooked potato

Instead of when you die and you cant play the save anymore, it should be when you die, it would take you back to the last time you saved.

(1 edit)

Try having wood utensils and plates so you can put food on the table, and can sit to eat. Try having wood walls and metal walls. Also your weapons and tools have durability and have to repair it once and a while. Also, how about doors and latches. maybe even more sea life like seaweed you can use to bind like a bed or something.

(+1)

Hello, I love the game but could you do these things? I would like it if we could save other people who are stranded that way we need to have trees and plants and have them help harvest and everything. I would also like to see a function put in for catching the shark so we can get shark meat. Thanks for reading my suggestions.

I love the idea of saving other survivors. Whether it be NPCs or other players (Other players will be a long way in coming, though, as they don't currently plan on a multiplayer version, I think).

Shark meat you get if you keep stabbing the shark with your spear after it's dead :)

Ik how to get the shark meat I was just saying it would make it easier. Thank you for your reply. Also could ou help me my game crashes as soon as I start it.

(1 edit)

I'd like to see the way the inventory is handled to change from first-in-first-out to first-in-last-out. The way the inventory is handled now means I have to manually manage it all the time, as I keep getting parts of stacks of the same resource, when I craft and gather.

I think rift support at some point down the line might be pretty cool.

(1 edit)

Hello,

Just wanted to say that I was watching Oblivion HD's videos on this game and that this is a pretty good game but from what I can see at his update it's pretty bare.

A few ideas:

  • Make a boat
  • Sail to other Islands
  • Mine ores and explore caves
  • More base building options
  • Pirates that come to your base to raid or attack when you're exploring
  • Maps to see where you've explored.
  • Using the Water Purifier and Cooker require planks as a fuel source
  • Someone's already said this but I agree with it, we should add new sea creatures to the game, birds or turtles? and you can put them in a cage/tank as a pet.
  • I'd also recommend removing the Item nets as it just makes it so easy to get resources later on in the game so after a while, you don't even need to use your hook.

As I said before, this is a good game but yeah, updates are needed! :)

OK here are my thoughts.

You can add barrels as an item to collect in the game beyond just getting items from them

then 1 barrel plus 10 scrap = 1 rain catcher

3 barrels plus 50 scrap = 1 Still

25 scrap = 1 pressure cooker

5 beets + 5 water used in a pressure cooker = 1 Sugar

10 Potato + 10 Sugar used in a Still = 1 Alcohol

10 Coconut + 5 Alcohol used in Still = 1 Coconut Rum

Killing the Shark will gain you a Hide

6 Wood + 12 nails = Tanning Tub

use Hide in tanning tub = 1 leather

5 leather + 2 Rope = 1 Backpack (expanded Inventory)

2 leather + 8 nails = 1 Pair of Non Slip Boots (prevents you from slipping off ship when walking on wet deck)

8 Leather = 1 Rain Coat (prevents cold from rain)

After killing your first shark, weather effects then begin to enter the game such as storms etc.

Lowest level storm is simple rain the effect simply being you will become wet and cold requiring you to warm up, and your rain catchers filling up with water

the 2nd level is Thunder Storm which will occasionally shoot lightning bolts at your ship causing damage to the highest levels of it.

the 3rd level is Tropical Storm which will hurl high winds at you causing damage to your ship as well as push you off into the water.

the 4th level is hurricane you will need to have prepared ahead of time for this one as you will be running around your ship replacing parts of your ship as this causes high levels of damage.

You can upgrade your walls and floors to metal by applying 4 scrap and 16 nails

1 Barrel + 20 scrap = Airtight Barrel

10 scrap = 1 pipe

1 Airtight Barrel + 4 pipe = 1 Wood Gasifier

20 wood used in a Wood Gasifier = 1 Syngas

50 Scrap = 1 Furnace

1 Syngas + 10 Scrap used in a furnace = 1 Metal Ingot

2 Metal Ingots + 1 Syngas used in furnace = 1 Gear

1 Metal Ingot + 1 Syngas used in furnace = 10 Nails

2 Gears + 2 Rope + 2 Pipes = Pulley

1 spear + 4 scrap = 1 Harpoon

2 Pulley + 10 wood = 1 Harpoon Balista (uses Harpoons as ammo to shoot sharks, let the sharks body float for a moment so that after you kill it you can then use your hook to bring it in and harvest it)

10 Metal Ingot + 10 Syngas used in furnace = 1 Lightning Rod (place on top of ship to prevent lightning from damaging it)

Add whales to the game = if you manage to kill one you will get a lot of food and oil. although attacking a whale will make him go Moby Dick on you.

5 scrap + 1 Syngas used in furnace = 1 metal coil

4 gears + 1 metal coil + 1 oil = 1 hand crank battery

4 metal coil + 10 scrap metal = 1 speaker

4 scrap metal = 1 Antenna

1 Hand crank Battery + 1 speaker + 1 Antenna = 1 Radio (perhaps building a radio triggers a special event in the game)

(1 edit) (+1)

Islands would break the whole point of this game. If you want an island game with rafts, go play Stranded Deep. This is purely ocean survival so it should just be left as it is.

Some suggestions:

  • Crafting: More crafting items, definitely.
  • Food/Drink: Naturally, make food/water drop slower. Right now its crazy fast. IF it's possible, drop the water slower when under a roof(floor). Dehydration should be a risk, but create a system where there is a player-under-floor check. Or just create the floors with a cube volume, and slow dehydration down when inside that volume.
  • Construction: The stairs are crazy big. Maybe add in a rope ladder? Will save on space and also prevent those nasty bugs :) More things to do with metal, yeah, especially upgrading the wooden structures to stop that f***ing shark from eating my house!
  • Gameplay: The day/night cycle is really fast. You could slow that down to 20 minutes of day (dawn=3 minutes; dusk=3 minutes; daytime=14 minutes) and 10 minutes of night. The shark seems to attack in 4-5 minute intervals, or there about. Maybe randomise that? I agree with the shift-click mechanic. Would help store items faster!
  • Weapons: As far as weapons go, the spear does the trick well enough. Maybe being able to throw it at that f***ing shark would be an added bonus.
  • Resource Gathering: Fishing nets are another good idea. Also, while on the fishing topic, maybe dont let me catch fish through the floor boards? I can literally fish anywhere on my raft without needing to cast into open water.

BUT, this game shows incredible promise, and it is certainly a game I will keep playing for a long time to come.

I hope you guys plan to sell this game at some point, the potential is there, just dont stray too close to other *similar* games.

plz make a shark defence

it very hard to defend

Please do this game on PS4 and Mac

-Aprimorate Weapons

-Weather (Nothing to agressive)

-The ability to build a boat and find abandoned ships and loot, and be able to create maps to find way back to the raft.

-Multyplayer (I know it's hard but it will be so fun)

-Ability to save animals in barrels (From animal traffiking via sea)

-Find flowers to create various colors of dye and make paint

-Ability to create Eolic Energy to create simple mechanisms to help out on work.

-Various types of fishes

-Birds, be able to cage them and eat them aswell.

-Ability to go to sea floor to find shells and old trash

-Skills (Like strength to kill sharks and cut wood faster)

-Ability to build Bed or Tent to go through night quicker.

-Find diferent seeds to have plant variations, like different trees and plants

-Some sort of Plastic to Cover a determined area from rain

Hope I could Help :D

Raft linux linux linux

Weather?

Maybe rain, wind, tidal waves etc. Something that would make the game more fun.

THE NEW UPDATE IS AWESOME I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE DOORS AND RAIN AND BED TO SLEEP AT NIGHT

I want new crafting recipes to be more cool and one of this is a roof

1. There has to be something with the seed. After a time I have lots of them and i dont know what do to with them maybe 4 seeds equals a bigger plant or something?

2. Could there be something so that you can exchange every sort of food to something I could choose to expand and build stuff?

(-1)

I would love to see a creative mode in this game allowing you to have infinite resources, it would stop the shark from eating your raft, and maybe even flying abilities!

Item Nets are too op. I think it would be better if they can hold a little amount of items. (I think 3 items is good) And if the net is full, the item can just ignore the net and continue to move forward.

you should also add gunpowder in the barrel, and it might be really great if you also add rubber trees. And by the way, the game is extremely awesome!

Some people may think this is idea would be taking away the point of Raft, but I think we should have shipwrecks and islands. Like you

can build a engine on your Raft and ride over to islands, kinda like Stranded Deep

In game you can add

- More type of fish e.g herring, tuna, etc and add a net to cath a crab/prawn

- Drying rack

- Increase your backpack

- Bigger chest

- Chair that you can sit, if you sit, water and hunger fall slower

- Bed with sleep function

- Rare item in barrel like a battery, gold nugget or PCB to craft a more high-tech items

if u can add bed, more food, fruits and new islands and some decorations. i would really like this things in the game dude

and i LOVE this AWESOME GAME !!!11!!

MacUniversal for 1.05 please

WE NEED IT FOR MAC PLZZZZZZ D: PLZ!!!

i have an idea to add more mobs other than the shark.for example there could be seagulls who would steal your food.there could also be crabs which would slowly damage the raft and could also be cooked.

another idea is to add rain and other weather, from which some harsh ones will damage the raft and could make the player sick or something like that.

A cut scene could be shown when a new game is started showing faint memories of being on a ship and seeing it get wreaked and then waking up on the raft with stuff to craft a hook rather than a hook already.

The ability to get some materials back when a building material is broken...(hope that made sense)

(+4)

I have been playing this game for a couple hours and thought of these suggestions:

1). Using shift + click to quickly move objects from inventory to chests and hot bar to inventory. After playing a long time the click and dragging is very time consuming and a tad annoying

2). More buildable objects! I love the game as is, but more buildable objects would be fantastic such as a bed that could be used to turn the night cycle to day, something to do with energy (craft wind mills), more intricate cooking - recipes and more food options would be fun because right now it is super easy to keep up the food and water meter, so being able to keep it up creativley would be awesome!

3). Underwater scavaing would be fun instead of waiting for it to happen by/ cutting down trees

On a side night, I personally would rather have updates to the game than have the developers focus on creating multiplayer.

(+5)

Iron spikes to prevent the shark from breaking the raft

I like this idea. There needs to be something to deter the shark, at least for a little while.

maybe it is nice to add dolphins and other aimals. maybe some more build possibilities and more stuff maybe a bow to kill animals and maybe that you can dive and more stuff that would be cool i hope these ideas will come in the game

(1 edit) (+20)

First off. Amazing project! keep up the good work. As many people have said this is very promising with great potential.

I have read through page after page of suggestions and gathered my thoughts on what i'd like the final game to have and will list them below. (This is going to be long with many ideas inspired by people on this forum)

DIFFICULTY SETTINGS:

  • Easy - w/ shark - Shark barely attacks and swims slower. Will only progress to attack when player has sufficient equipment
  • Easy wo/ shark - No shark player is free to swim around without threats of attack or pests
  • Normal - Kind of what the mode is like now. Shark will attack frequently and swim quicker than easy
  • Hard - Multiple sharks which attack frequently

EQUIPMENT:

  • Beds (made from thatch/rope/wood)
  • Fishing nets (Made from and wood)
  • Lobster cage (made from wood and lots of rope)
  • Primitive gardening tools. Shovel/rake/hoe. (Made from metal scraps and wood and rope)
  • Mask and snorkel for being able to scan the bottom of the ocean ( made from shark skin/wood/string fibers)
  • Diving equipment for something to work for in terms of late game (Made from Shark skin/Rope/Metal/String Fibres)
  • Clothing to keep player warm/not sunburnt
  • Rare items - Down in the sea for exploration purposes. Divers Knife/ Arrow tips/ Harpoon hook/ Harpoon gun.
  • Harpoon - This can be either primitive and crafted or found in the depths.
  • Knife spear - After finding the divers knife it can be attached and detached to a pole forming a more powerful spear.
  • Backpacks (Small made from string fibres, or bigger from Shark skin)
  • String Fibres (Made from coconut fibers woven)
  • More crops/fruits/plants/seeds/trees
  • Primitive weapons player can build. (Bows/spears/harpoons/knifes/axe)

WEATHER AND NATURAL EVENTS:

  • Weather cycles including heavy rain/ hail/high winds/cloudy/sunny/cold
  • When Weather is cold player needs to either wrap up or hunger goes down faster due to energy expenditure.
  • When player is really hot they have to be careful of dehydration

STRUCTURES:

  • Spike traps to outline the raft with to stop the shark from munching the side of the raft. These would have degradation to not be too O.P
  • Rope Ladders for high places.
  • Rope Bridges for cool tree house style rooms.
  • Rain catcher. (Like the turtle shell on The Forest)
  • Doors
  • Pully/Lift system.
  • Ovans for better cooking.
  • Fish farms so the player can breed and capture their own fish.
  • Different Tree types for more fruit
  • Some sort of way to set up farm automation (Late game)

MECHANICS

  • Fires require fuel
  • Sharks breed over time and player can let it get out of hand.
  • More ways of Gathering food. Player can dive and collect shellfish. Catching fish/crab/lobster via nets/traps/spear fishing/harpoon with more fruits and veg leading to more cooking choices on the Ovan.
  • Rare chance of corpse floating by (Potential for rare items to be on them)
  • Rare chances of survivor (Player has to help them from the shark in turn they will fish/gather for the player)
  • LATE GAME: i can't stress this enough. This game is so fun but lacks something to work for. (dont bite my head off i know the games circumstances but this is a list of things i want to see.)
  • Structures affect player during specific weather conditions( During hail the player will get slowly damaged unless indoor)
  • Multiplayer!!!11! This would be the best thing ever when the game is further along development.

I am a developer myself so i understand how hard/time consuming even the smallest thing is to implement. Never mind for a tiny team like yourselves. Please don't let this list cause any stress or frustration. It's merely my brain getting excited for the future of this title.
I hope to see you all pass your courses and move on to doing this full time. I truly believe this title is a strong contender for G.O.T.Y 2018.

Great Work

Jake

like like like like

woah yeah thats awesome!

Amazing, Just amazing.

map downloader for raft wod be cool

Make after breaking our buildings, gives our items back!

(+2)

it;s actually in

really?

(+2)(-2)

Islands an boats!

Stone and Metal Walls, Floor, Foundations, Windowed Walls and Pillars....

(-4)

Ability to tame sharks so it can bring fish for you if you have less than 5 macros....

How do you tame a shark even? do you even logic bruh? You seem to want this game to be subnautica in a certain way, but really? Taming sharks?

I logic bro... Shark can be tamable in real life.

A shark is nice to humans only when its not hungry thank you very much, Were have you seen a shark being tamed? I would like some proof, Not sure if even possible.

In aquariums.

An aquarium is something different, They arent even fully nice, Meanwhile, In the game, You are some dude on a Raft surrounded by an aggresive shark that really wants to eat you, Its nature, Sharks are only aggresive to human depending on what type of shark it is, Or if its just hungry.

Multiplayer

(+2)(-2)

Creative mode.....

Able to See Underwater life when diving.

Weather, I think a few storms would make it more interesting, some cargo netting to tie everything down? Also when breaking items down, you would get back a percentage of the materials. Maybe an occasional bird or two flying by, or landing on the raft to kill for meat? Islands or Ships in the distance that you never seem to reach that would fade over the horizon. A radio, make a battery out of salt water copper and zinc, that would be a rare item in a barrel. Once built you could hear music depending on where you are in the ocean, Hawaiian, Asian Pacific, Australia or New Zealand. You have Palms and palm fronds so that would make it in the Pacific Ocean.

LIKE

(+3)

A more advanced storage would be great, for example:

  • naming/renaming storage boxes (name could appear on sides, perhaps top of boxes. this would help a lot to differentiate what you store where, in case you have multiple storage boxes)
  • sorting content
  • auto-stacking option
  • ability to expand storage boxes to hold more items

Awesome, expanding storage is a must!

You should add some rare items, like a better hook(faster) and a better weapon(like a pistol) and craft your ammo with scrpar metal

You can make a rank like:Normal/Rare/Very Rare/Legendary/Mythical.You can create a intro like how you are the last surviver and how did ,,Titanic'' get down.

(-2)

I WANT BEDSSSS

(-1)

AND METAL RAFTS

AN ISLAND WOULD BE COOL

(+2)

From playing the game for a while, I have a list of things I think would be nice to have in the game:

  • Protection from the shark attacking the raft.
  • A form of water transportation, such as a boat.
  • Being able to make multiple "rafts" around the map to travel between.
  • Water exploration; having submarines and diving suits to explore and salvage the ocean ground, and find new ways to survive.
  • Having a form or ranged combat, such as a bow, to fight the shark from a range and make it feel more of a rivalry than an every now and then attack.
  • 2 player co-op (yes, I know, everyone wants that).
  • Duck/crouch. It makes it so hard to get the coconuts when you have your trees close together.
  • A water treatment plant. This links back to "water exploration" and finding a way to make it.
  • Elevators. 3 long stairs makes it hard to build tall buildings while still loving nice.
  • Longer pillars, so you don't have to build them on top of eachother. I was thinking of a stacking feature so you can build them directly on top of each other and extend it.
  • Roofs and doors.
  • Guard rails to use around water holes and sides of the raft.
  • Islands with soil spots for planting seeds and growing trees, and loot, like under water, that gives you new things to build and improve your raft.

The 2 big things are water exploration and islands. I think that is what the game is sort of lacking. That survival and exploration feature, going into places that could kill you, but you get that loot you know you need to get. Water exploration would be a huge project to work on, as you would have to create hills and sea weed on the ocean floor and make it look somewhat realistic, and islands would require ways to travel to it and all of the greenery with trees and plants growing everywhere.

I think what should be started on is small raft parts floating around the place with some loot on them, and small rafts with paddles to get to them. I dont know how complex this would be to add to the game, but I think it is what the game is sort of lacking at the moment.

Hello!! I have an idea, but this is not RAFT, setrata another game that does not exist, but I would like it to exist, I love RAFT, and that's why I want to give you my idea, because I do not know program. If you are interested do not hesitate to contact me, we will see you.

(+1)

Hi. I have a question, am i allowed to translate your awesome game to Czech? Thank you for answering :)

(1 edit) (+5)(-1)

I suggest to add multiplayer. At least a way to play with your friends hosting a server in lan.

In my opinion survival games are boring without other player.

And just another thing: I know that you placed a "read me" with "controls key" in the folder but if you add a mini-tutorial (at least a starting box in the upper part of the screen showing controls) would be great (when i started to play i didn't see the txt and for 10 minutes i pressed random keys, surely this is happend to others "distracted" players XD).

However the game is great, simple but enjoyable and this is his role and aim of life (Don't add dispersive thing but only essential stuffs *always in my opinion*.)

Last one: Try to propose this game in "steam greenlight" (this game is better than many games accepted on steam so you can have a bit profit)

I really want multiplayer too. could play with friend on LAN. I really doesnt have to have Servers, but please just add LAN

THX!!

(1 edit) (+1)

You should be able to find different kinds of baits on barrels to get others kinds of fishes and make other tools from combining the tools you already have like a harpoon from a spear and a hook

(+3)

I feel it would be really cool to add more mobs and an underwater/sea floor. I also think it would be awesome if you could build a boat/ship, and sail a distance to an island. And on the island you can find more resources and craft SCUBA gear, to explore the ocean bottom. Another cool aspect would be if you added a bow an arrow. P.S. It would be a great idea to try to start a Steam Green light Page too.

Make it quick;

1.) One new raw material that comes from the sea; silk. It could be used for better walls and another furniture set later. Also Hp wouldn't regen this fast and silk would heal.

U should add a backbag that u make with those leafs, fix multiplayer and u should add that thing it would save everything automatically and chest are empty if u get back into the server... fix that too :) thank u

(+1)

Repairing takes more than building !!!!!!!!!????? fix that man

(2 edits)

You "clip"/ go through the ramps which is a bit weird, they should be solid items. Also you should put a shadow texture for the player character (As of now you only have shadows for items.

Of course there needs to be more thing to do in it but that's a no brainier.

Stuff like:

-Ability to make boats

-Maybe add islands you can go to

-Add different types of fish you can catch

-Maybe have random generator for what type of shark will attack you (IE: Sand Tiger Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Thresher Shark and ETC)

-More plants (Wheat, Corn, and ETC)

-Bigger farm beds

-Crates (Bigger storage)

-Bow and arrow

-possibly of flooding on the raft where the shark can get onto the raft

-Rain/ weather system

as of now that's all I can think about.

Do you guys think any of these would be cool?

I actually really love some of the ideas you have, especially the flooding and weather one!

Though I just want to say that adding islands to the game defeats the game's purpose. Which is to survive on a raft and what's given to you from the sea.

Suggestions for future and much later updates:

1) Underwater exploration. You can collect different materials instead of the ones floating around, and the shark/other creatures can be a threat

2) Instead of islands (because the whole concept is to survive on a raft), why not have broken down boats/other rafts deserted in the sea?

3) Maybe some other decorations like a sail, flag, or a small plant

4) Possibly other threats to damage your raft in different ways? Like a storm or other animals out in the water. They can take more parts of your raft or only one object (Like walls)

As a side note I want to say thanks for making this game! The concept of surviving on a raft is pretty neat and I like the gameplay so far. I hope you guys don't rush or over work on the game, we can always wait :D

I would like there to be more sharks once you kill the one circling you enough. If they could jump halfway up on the raft to catch you for a chunk of health. I would like more furniture as well. Decorating things up a bit would be entertaining. I know this isn't an aspect for most gamers, but I think it would be cool to be able to collect "companions" every once in a while that rarely float by (like Castaway's Wilson). You guys are doing an awesome job on the game! Keep the updates coming!

You Could Add More Food And Building Items

Can You Make More Trees Rather Than Coconut Trees

Boats would be cool like you could find a small island and build on that (what could be on said islands:Crabs,Coconuts,Tree's(duh),

and a separate idea would be diving under water for extra resources (at risk of death from shark)

so these are some ideas i had for the game,Well also controller support could be cool not really need though.

(-1)

Needs Pet Fish's and tameable shark.

(1 edit) (+1)
  • Animals like ducks, seaguels
  • More weapons example bows
  • Equip things example armor
  • Find equipments in specail barrels
  • Spawn with two item net placed
  • Give player a playermodel
  • Islands and underwater temples
  • Special/Rare equipments
  • Bigger chest
  • Bandage (or something that heal you)
  • Diving gear
  • Bait for the shark (meat you can throw)
  • Whales
  • Harpon
  • Sail
  • Craftable boats
  • Bed
  • New ore

Here is a small list of suggestions I thought of

* Harpoon Guns

* Leviathans/krakens -- generally more enemies

* Scrap Engine (so sharks can't get you but higher tier enemies still can ^)

* More furniture

* Usable furniture for added realism

* More Weapons to build

* Weapon Station to build the new weapons

* Buildable Doors/roofs

* Weather

* Natural Disasters (tsunamis and Whirlpools)

* Pirates

(+1)

Some suggestions to make this great game even better:

1. Durability for tools. It would need some tweaking to make sure they don't die off too fast, but overall it would help the longevity of the game by adding another layer of resource management.

2. Weather! Rain can be a pain to program, but it would really add to the immersion to have cloudy days/nights and potential rainstorms. There could be wind or lightning effects that damage the raft, and as a plus, a surge of floating loot after storms pass to reward survival.

3. A shark lure. I've seen posts asking for better foundations as a way to deal with the shark attacks, and I thought this could be a cool alternative. It could use fish (mackerel or another kind of fish if any are added) and rope to craft, and ward off several shark attacks. It could even be repaired with more rope and fish over time, giving thatch a good use and making the fishing rod more viable. A drawback to the lure would be the inability to attack the shark, since it would just grab a fish and go, so if you want shark meat, you have to hunt it yourself.

4. Kindling for the Purifier and Cook station, made of either thatch, planks, or both, with a ratio that you get multiple bits of kindling from one crafting pieces (since it's pretty much shredded leaves or twigs). They can be loaded into the stations preemptively (say like ten uses' worth), and provide another use for thatch in the late game. It's also easy enough to make that it shouldn't hinder the early game

5. Building parts! Things like ladders (rope or wood) for a one tile way up a level and railings for a non wall alternative. Perhaps support beams that could extend out from pillars to allow more horizontal building without pillars everywhere. Thatch roofing would be cool, too, with both tile and edge pieces available.

6. More tree types than palm. Perhaps a fruit tree to keep in the style of trees being able to feed the player. Mangoes? They're very widespread, and they have pits, so reskinning palm seeds could work out there.

Okay, that's plenty of suggestions from me. I love what you guys have done so far, and I look forward to what you come up with next!

(+1)

What we need in this game is Weather....Like shouldn't always be sunny/night time....

Also, multiplayer would be nice.

Thanks for reading :D

(1 edit)

you should add some storms and heavy rains and some big waves and some high tide and some whirlpool and also add the things they need to use to survive on those thing so it would challenging. The person should can get sick.Maybe some clothes too

I hope you add some pirates

Lololololol

I love the game so far there is so much potential for this game here is some of my suggestions.
different types of trees to grow like a banana tree or a mango tree, different types of walls. maybe a base reinforced with scrap metal to make it harder for the shark to bite through, a throw able spear, more sharks, maybe make it possible to create a fish farm? different types of fish. maybe an orange tree. canned food from barrels. make it possible to move items. these are just some suggestions i know you have only begun this game. its absolutely amazing so far i cant wait to see what comes out. good luck!

Please do 1.0.5 on Mac and Linux

If you read the description of the fishing rod it says "used to catch fishes of different types" dose this mean there will be more fishes and the different types heal your food more or water more than the normal fish?

(1 edit)

Add Please a crouch Button, for example ''CTRL". Maybe add new weapons and new creatures.

I think a diving suit and diving will be awesome, but i know that wont be easy to do.

Sory for my texting i from poland

Please like, i wont to creator of game see it

Adding in a defense system against the sharks would also be nice, like adding in barbed wire or barbed nets with nails and rope would be a nice touch. Also possible a little boat that you could go from raft to raft in. This game for sure has potential.

Foundation with spiked sides? It'd help prevent your raft getting damaged by sharks.

Im going to give some suggestions for the developers: boats, islands, looking for things under water, multiplayer, a bow or crossbow of some sort so that you can shoot the shark, also make it to where if you kill the shark you get something ike 5 or more minutes without the shark, also balance out the recources because i allways get a lot of thatch and A LOT of scrap and not enough wood, more customizations for b uilding would be really cool. thx :)

I feel as if adding islands would defeat the game's main focus of being on a raft that's gone adrift. However your idea of a ranged option is nice, though I feel as if a spear with rope on the end would be more fitting and would be more useful once the shark is dead allowing you to reel it in to collect the meat like the hook does.

How about a sword or a knife for new weapons. New types of fish such as salmon or trout with them being harder to obtain and giving more food.

Please add a way to go back to the v 1.04 visuals. I really liked the way it made the game feel.

Effect of Temperature: hypothermia at night, with the need to build fires and overheating by the sun, with the need to build shelters. Variety of weather: rain, calm, strong wind. Strengthening of sharks or destructible with a large margin of safety, or is not destroyed, but with the need to invest large amounts of resources in the block.

Deleted 7 years ago

i think maybe add some animals, or some birds.and guns to shoot shark and birds to get some food. na..

automation shark defenses will be perfect

Add bed plz...

I Think you Should add a Protection Wall craft it Using Scraps Wood And Some Multiplayer So It Will Be Fun And Some New Animation

Note:

Protection wall will Save you From Shark Attack and Protect the Foundation And Item Net :)

(1 edit)

hello raft team ,

here is some ideas;

small boats for adventuring

bow n arrow

different types of foundation wood / metal etc... with their respected armor value

different types of shark / like if one shark dies the next would be different with different attacks like tiger-shark great-wite-shark and maybe Whales that jump out of the water or maybe a small chance of a megaladon to appear

/ this one maybe later but take it into consideration character customization and different game view-thingys like 1st-person 3d-person etc... And CROUCHING lol <3 tata and farewell

More optimization to low end pcs would be nice.

I don't know if its just me, but at a certain point, I totally stopped getting resources floating by? Every now and then i'll see something way out in the distance that my hook can not extend to grab, but thats once every few day cycles. It gets very frustrating, because although you can grow palms to get things like thatch and planks, there is nothing I have found that gives you scrap except for barrels and actual scrap. Maybe have fewer resources come in after the person is established, but they should continue to come. Kind of frustrating that I can't build stairs or any other equipment because I have no way of getting any scrap.

I think the time to starve/dehydrate is way too fast.

I stopped playing after I'd basically made one of everything, because it just got old having to eat and drink constantly.

i felt that too bro but you know the game is still in dev... We need your suggestions ... Who knows it works out better

I completely agree with you on that...

love the concept .. GJ Raft!

Now i think these diffrent veggies can be combined to make up better meals dont you think?

I really enjoy this game, it is very cool to just sit a relax to. and while playing I have found a few things that would liven up the experience, so below you will find some ideas that would be cool.

1. Weather: I like the fact that its always sunny and a happy day but we are on the ocean there needs to be rain and storms something of that nature.

2. A cooking pot: this is could be used to make soups and other things with the drinkable water that is made.

3. Beds: Man being awake from sun up to sun down and back can take a toll on someone. People need some sleep. haha

4. sturdier foundations: this can be used in combination with scrap which will make it harder for the shark to destroy.

5. longer times between shark coming back: I get so happy when the shark is dead and I get it's meat, but then a few seconds later its back.

More stuff will come up as I build my raft and see what more i will like in it.

I think that you guys should at least one new weapon at least. Its the harpoon gun and you could use it to shoot the shark from farther away. it might be like 5 scraps and maybe you would need to add like a spring or something, but the you would also need to craft some rope and a spear (and maybe a crank of some sort to reel the rope in but its fine if you don't :P ) please add some sort of weapon for killing the shark than just the spear! thank you!!!!

I think Wilson should be added. He just floats by, maybe his name wont be Wilson, but I think it would be really funny

Another thought of mine is clothes. You'd start off with destroyed or ripped, but you could get shark skin or somethin (maybe cloth/ cotton/ wool ) but you would have to craft / sew new clothes which would make it harder to die. This is just a thought for the far future when things are much more stable for the game. please do not try stressing yourselves with any of my ideas. thank you and cya!

I think that you should add in fishing nets to make things more sustainable. it would also be interesting to have boats or an ultimate objective. perhaps having a set of quests from a castaway. anything like that would add to the fun.

I think this game should get a durability bar for items (Even though I hate durability bars) it may help the gameplay. Also, I understand this is a very early access game but as soon as possible polish up the Multiplayer Mod and make it part of the base game.

(1 edit) (+11)(-1)

Add Backpacks or Increase the inventory space. That would be more experienced and fun to play.

(+1)

1. Please add something like a door that opens and closes

2. add a "shark alarm" which you can make out of metal and stuff that will point towards where the shark is and will beep when its attacking

3. make a strong foundation that takes longer to destroy (finally a use for all that scrap)

4. make chairs "sittable"

5. make tables more useful (like give them a storage space)

6. make a way to make an engine that would take you around (the gas cans for it would sometimes float by for collection)

7. make swim gear so you can swim longer if you have it

Thanks!! cant wait for 1.06!!!

Deleted 4 years ago

thats alot to ask for a unity game

hey, can u add a new tree maybe? And beds and more decorative items! it would be cool if you can add small islands, which includes new base building. and with islands, you can maybe grow vegetables, so my idea: add a hoe so you can grow plants on your island! and like some other comments, i would really like to play with friends. Multiplayer would be cool! :D hope you guys like my ideas!

Awesome!

(+2)

Can you, please, work on multiplayer? You can work with the raft multiplayer creator to make it easier. In my opinion, it would be more fun and easier to survive and build. Also, can you please add a body to the character's model, because now we are just a pair of floating hands, which is funny.

(4 edits) (+5)

Hi, i got some suggestions! like if you agree!

Island idea:

+ add islands!

+ palm trees on the island, so you can cut them down with your axe.

+ we got the building system for a raft, sure wanna keep that going, but if you add islands, you can have 2 building systems, so you can make a house on an island! i think that would be cool!

+ sails, so you can acually GO to the islands, without using smaller boats! The main raft will be slower than the small boats.

Island building system:

Roofs, but not only flat roofs, but maybe also square roofs, made of thatch or wood!

Thatch roof materials: rope, thatch

Wood roof materials: wood, nails

And also add wooden walls!

With the same materials as the wooden roof.

Materials:

+ Sticks, for a campfire!

+ Stone, for maybe stone walls and roofs, for the island, and maybe for flint and steel, so you can start the campfire!

+ add a hoe, so you can plant vegetables on an island!

+ When you are on the island, you can start a farm with your hoe. Add carrots and weed! With weed you can make bread!

Game ideas:

+ Add more drinks, like rum or regular milk (can be found inside barrels)

+ Add a way to destract (is that how i spell it? :\) the shark for one day and one night, so you can build safely.

+ Add NPC characters: Humans on other rafts, so you can trade or fight them. And populations om SOME of the islands (in NPC villages). And maybe some animals, so you can hunt, tame or eat them!

+ Add more furniture, like torches (for the walls on the ISLAND, not on a raft.) beds, and a closet (with the same use of chests, but you will need more materials to build it, and it will have more space to put items in!)

+ multiplayer mode!

+ smaller boats! very usefull in multiplayer mode, becaus you can build the main raft, and explore the ocean with smaller boats! the main raft will be like a mothership! sounds cool to me.... :\

OOH OOH, this is maybe the best of all...

+ Add wooden plates, so you can put food on it!!! :O (like fish, potatoes, and beetroots) and that you can also sit on the chairs, because they are kinda useless now, exept for decoration...

Hope you guys like my ideas!

I wrote this with my friend and more ideas will come later, pls add tips in the comments below! :D

(1 edit) (+1)

A nice thing would be to add puff fish so you can poison the shark and make it go away for a short time.Maybe add rum as a drink bcuz it seams logic to have it since this is like a stranded pirate.

(P.S. Sorry for my bad spelling)

Yeah that would be cool! i will think about more drinks!

Please add bed and bots who's can buy and sell items

Please add swords and bow.

(+4)(-1)

-Could add weather. In stormy weather there could be 1/100 chance of raft being struck by lightning.

-Jaws easter egg

-Random raft getting close to you and you could trade with the NPC on it

-Fishing net

-Floating barrels of items you drop into water 0_0

-Huntable birds, turtles, more types of fishes etc.

(1 edit)

I think this game is too easy, for this i suggest to add problems for example cold or disease

(+1)

Additions:

-Islands

-Maps for searching islands. (You need the table to use it, and you can get maps, if you catch a barrel, or you can craft maps)

-More animation

-More difficult

-Bed, for sleeping (If you sleeping, the sharks are still doing their job, and you can skip the night)

-Roof

-More weapon

-More item

-Big rocks in sea (Under and above)

-More realism

-Boats with sculls

Changes:

-Be slowed down the days and nights

-You can dive down in the water

lol

I think it will be more like subnautica than raft

I know. D: But I think thats's a great idea. My favourite game is the subnautica.

(+1)

1. speargun (faster way to kill shark)

2. add multiplayer( mainly because this game is awesome and i wanna show it to my friends as a group)

3. add like metal flooring/foundations/walls

4. some type of base defensive spikes or like buoys (that we can assemble and cast to get the sharks attention away from the base for a short time)

5. some kind of back story as to why we are stranded or how it happened

6. cast able nets that allow us to catch more fish or larger fish(cuz i like the fishing aspect in the game its epic)

7. cabinets as an alternative look to chests

8. an automatic water filtration system(sorta like it gathers water purifies it and makes it drinkable)(like a later game craftable thing)

9. a larger furnace(like how a real grill works or something so we can cook more food in one instead of having to have several grills)

10. sea birds that ocasionally we can capture for eggs or meat(or keep as a pet)

I would like it if an expensive upgraded version of the raft foundation could be build out of metal that the shark could not break.

yeah

Please make the game run a bit faster for laptops, it runs at 10 fps at its peak for my windows 7 thinkpad laptop

When you retrieve a barrel, the actual barrel is added to the inventory and can be placed down for storage.

might be to op

HI, i want to suggest a few new decorative items, the Hammock, crafting recipe 10 ropes - 2 logs, and the candle, crafting recipe 1 rope - 1 log - 1 resin (maybe a new item dropped by palms), and will be cool if you can put little items on the table, like a chest. Have a nice day!

Let us place stairs next to walls. Unless I'm doing something wrong, the game won't let me have a wall and stairs in the same grid area. It's making building a house kind of rough.

you can

Huh, it appears red for me, even when I have the right amount of materials. If I spam click though, it eventually works. Must be some weird bug.

This game is amazing but, we all know it lacks in things to do. It needs something that'll make things different like multiplayer, because you never know what people will do so it barely ever gets old. I know this is obvious and probably really hard to implement but, I just wanted to show how much we want it. P.s. back packs would be legit, or throw able spears to kill sharks.

I've just started playing, and these are my suggestions as a new player.

Having the controls listed in readme is great, but a tutorial or more onscreen assistance would be beneficial. I have died each time while trying to figure out what I am supposed to do next. I'm sure it isn't that hard to figure out, but as has been the case with games int he past, many people will tend to lose interest early on and downrate a game. In addition to the tutorial, something of a backstory is also a nicety, but not necessarily needed.

Like many others, I would love a co-op or multiplayer, but understand the need to perfect the base game first. I look forward to multi eventually (outside of mod), but look forward more to the development of the game at hand first.

So far I like the idea. Just need to get the idea of what to do without having to watch youtube videos.

I have some ideas.

Add: beds (would be made with wood nail and sheets) Add another basic need like: energy (it would be recovered while sleeping in bed)

Add: multiplayer mode (which would connect two computers) Add more types of trees with their food, such as apple, guava, banana (which would be planted where the coconut is planted and would be achieved in the same way that we get coconut in the game)

Add more food to be planted like carrots, wheat to make bread, melancholy, pumpkin ... (that would be planted where the potatoes are planted in the game and also obtained in the same way)

Add: islands by the sea (in them they would contain trees and plants could also contain terrestrial animals in the islands)

Add: boats with capacity to hold chest (which would be used to reach the islands)

Well these were some ideas that I had to improve your game I hope you like <3

I think that you should add multiplayer. A way to get to some small islands and maybe not be able to build there, only to gather rare materials. You could use those materials to maybe build a shark cage which can trap the shark for a set amount of time. You could also use the materials to maybe make stronger building items so the shark will have to "eat" the item more to destroy it. Also maybe even a decay feature. I don't know, just sharing my thoughts. I also have no clue on programming so if this seems way to far fetched that's why. Thanks for reading!! :D

If you want to check out my videos on Raft, check out my channel if you'd like! - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHH6CT33RgoBgbY86...

Controller support would be nice, with defulated moving and looking sticks (and inverted option for people who use that) with mappable buttons!

(+1)

think you should add a way to get dirt... and add it to the materials needed for croplots (both types)

i mean weredya get soil in the first place

or maybe a bait is needed to use fishing rod

Plot twist: It's not soil.

(1 edit) (+1)

Please put a multiplayer in this game, then it will get better still

Who do you like I like this idea

There IS a multiplayer already... it's spacific mod that you have to download ;)

(+2)

This is my suggestion, maybe will make Raft more better..

- It will be good, if you can add the scenery like the one in the Life of Pi movie.. Such as fish swim around you, sunset, etc..

- Add objective of the game.

- Add beds, and Sleep system.

- Add more furniture..

- And last one, it will be good, if player can dive into the underwater. Such as, player can dive and see good scenery in underwater..

Thats my suggestion, just my suggestion. It will be good if you can implement it to Raft. But, if not, its ok.. I still love Raft!

(+1)

Please add more fish, islands with animals and structures

(-2)

Idea for the NPCs

http://imgur.com/a/wXlBf

(+1)

Hello, you should add: doors, fishing nets, spikes (or something to defend your raft), small islands (with trees and treasures), ladders.

and imrove: windows (they're too low and small), chairs (why chairs when I can't sit there? And If you are sitting near the table food will refill 20% more hunger)

That is my ideas for this game

(+1)

Great game so far! There are just a few things I can suggest since there have been several creative suggestions before me:

- It'd be great to be able to make baits with which you can catch different fish species that recharge a bit more hunger

- Jumping into the water should affect the player somehow, maybe it should give the player temporary slowness because of the wet clothes

- Tracking the days/the time spent on the current map would be useful

- some kind of roofing made of thatch would look pretty good

- small and rare obtainable items that can be used for decoration, like a pufferfish that hangs on a tiny rope

can you maybe make this into a console game I've watched tons of gameplay PC isent really my thing I bet you allot of people would buy raft for console

(+1)

Could you please make a hammock? I would love to be able to hang one between palm trees and lay down in it.

I like this game very much,This game can not shelves steam?I must buy it because I love the game

This is pretty fun for about an hour, but I very quickly found myself with too many supplies and not much to build or craft. After I figured out how to start without dying instantly, I set myself up with a collection of item nets, purifier and cooker, and I was comfortable in no time. I could really use some goals. I like the island idea that's been suggested, but at the same time I wouldn't make much sense if the point is to live on a raft.

I think NPCs would be a good plan. Perhaps some other lost-at-sea characters could drift by, and you'd need to be able to provide for them as well. You could even assign a job to the NPC, so that while you focus on fishing and cooking, they repair damages, or fight off the shark. They should be rare, though. Even rarer could be a stranded animal, like a dog, which could help attack the shark, and randomly pick up items that pass beside or under the raft (probably mostly planks). Again, you'd have to feed it. The NPC/dog would also have thirst and hunger, as well as a health bar, so you'd have to make sure they didn't get pushed into the water, or could at least get out if they did. Dog would have to come with a bowl, which you could fill with clean water. Feeding could either also be done with a bowl, or just by selecting food and pressing E at the dog. The NPC could either get their own food and water, given it's available on the cooker, or you might have to hand it to them.

I feel like this would add a challenge, and in some cases force you to decide if you can afford to care for another life in exchange for a benefit or two.

Multiplayer also sounds like an interesting idea, as long as you don't add the option to fight other players.

More animals would also be a fantastic addition! Birds and other sealife that you could stab to eat would be really nice. Turtles, dolphins, even barracuda. Having dolphins could offer a sense of paradise or peace, but could also, if you're desperate, become food. The shark could also target them, giving you the chance to swim out for supplies, OR you could try to save the dolphin.

After some thought, and after looking at some other comments, I agree that more trees would be nice. Specifically fruit trees. Also, larger gardens would be a nice option, as well as a harpoon to stab into the shark and either pull it to you to kill it, or have it pull you across the ocean to new settings.

These new settings could have different kinds of fish, different amounts of different materials, or it could even be an island.

In regards to the island idea, after a night or two, a storm could happen, forcing the player to either return to the safety of their current raft, or risk being washed out to sea without it and having to start all over. If you implement all of these features, using the harpoon on the shark could also offer the slim chance of finding your old rafts, if you had lost them.

I want you to collect translation by Crowdin.

(+1)

make npcs that trade with u!!!!

make roofs! making floors as roofs is so annoying!

make doors!

make nets only catch some of the items that float by so its not so easy

(+1)

I think multiplayer would be really fun. ^-^ Also, being able to go underwater would be an interesting thing. Maybe have certain items or materials that can be found underwater. The islands concept that people are suggesting would be fun, but at the same time I feel like not having any actual land is something that makes the game more unique. So if islands are added, maybe they should be kinda sparse or rare?

(+1)

so like wind waker? one random tiny island that has like a coconut tree? that would be nice, coconut milk for water, some coconut for food and maybe the shell could have a use other then making a coconut bikini xD

Underwater sounds fun, but how would you avoid the shark???

(+1)

When you put a new update?

(+1)
Optimized to work better game 4g ram + and I am 12 fps
(+1)

Make a bed a roof and be functional tables and chairs

(+1)

can anyone upload a good level because im a total noob and am useless at playing the game

there is not enough easily collectable resources

There is plenty, hon, if you use strategy. Gather lots of scraps and thatch, turn the thatch into rope, and make a water cooker. Try to put that wherever you plan your middle to be. Then make a harpoon and some item nets. Put the item nets on the sides of your raft, whichever side you see more objects floating past. Only ever put nets beside each other, not in front of nor behind, there is no need for that. Make a hammer and build around the water cooker. Build more item nets, then a food cooker, and a fishing rod. Occassionally collect supplies from the nets, build more nets (best to put them along the front of your raft, facing the direction the items are coming from). If you're feeling good about yourself by this point, you could optionally make a second set of cookers, just to double your food and water.

(+1)

Please, optimize the game.

1,add durability (more playable)

2,bugs in multiplayer are horible ;)

3,more material for example cole,stone,etc.

Thank you for reading this. Kuba2028 :)

(+1)

how do you select diffrent ites with the hammer im a noob

(+1)

Hold the right button ;)

(+3)

I would like to start off that I really like the idea of the game but this game needs more obstacles to overcome and more core mechanics like over sun exposure, freezing winds, storms, protein and vitamin C deficiency. That's just a few things I thought of. The reason I said it needs mechanics like this is because you picked a survival situation that has bare minimum of game mechanics to work with. Such as you can never go exploring to see new things or find new items, or the will never be a need for a stamina bar, because you shouldn't have a need to run for more than a few seconds. Let's take the forest for an example why do you need to build a base? To defend yourself from bigger and stronger enemies that will eventually be coming. Why do you need to pick up/make different weapons? To defend yourself from a horde of mutants, kill the cannibals, and hunt the different wildlife on the island. I've only played this for about 15-20 minutes and I more or less did everything that could be done. There should be a reason to fish other than just getting it for food, like chumming the water to lore sharks to or away from you. Why should I build walls? or why should I build a roof/2nd floor why grow trees. There should be a reason to keep moving in the water instead of drifting through the ocean. Such as making a sail to stay ahead of a monster of a great white shark. I don't know but the game just needs more core mechanics to build off of and not adding in chairs and tables at this point in time. Maybe staying on your feet for days on end would start hurting and you would need to rest your feet. That could be a reason to have chairs. Make resting important and time management when you should and shouldn't rest your character's body. Resting too much would give you sores making you weaker. But going nonstop would have a negative effect of needing to eat and drink more frequently, and needing to eat and drink bigger portions just to get back to normal.

(+2)

I think adding more sharks would amp up the hectic ability. Like once 30 structures are placed a 2nd shark appears. after 70 a 3rd shark

(1 edit) (+3)

Well, I've played this game for a few hours and I think I have a good idea about some additions. I made this list with the idea in mind that these can probably pretty easily be implanted in the game's current state, unlike ideas about multiplayer and islands. Also I realized after the fact that this list focusing heavily on thirst and hunger.

1. Potatoes and Beetroots: Don't get me wrong, I love diversity, but as far as I can tell these two are almost exactly the same. The grow for the same amount of time, they provide the same hunger, they're equally rare, etc. So to separate their uses a bit, I was thinking that Potatoes could provide more hunger than Beetroots, but Beetroots provide more thirst. It would give players a reason to pick one over the other in certain situations. Speaking of thirst and vegetables...

2. Vegetables and Thirst: Why do cooked vegetables provide thirst while uncooked vegetables provide none (or close to it)? Shouldn't cooking them actually make them have less water, because of evaporation? At the least, I think uncooked vegetables should give at least some thirst.

3. Hunger and Thirst Death: This is sort of a big one; when your thirst or hunger goes down to zero, you immediately die. I actually had a really nice raft going but neglected my thirst for a while and just died out of nowhere. Thirst and hunger should start to lower your health instead, even in reality you would start to decline in health before death, not just drop dead (like suffocating in water would do).

EDIT: It seems like it does lower your health, except when it starts flashing red, not when its empty. The screen should start turning red or dark when you're close to death, its really easy to just let your health go down that way and not know it.

4. Coconut Seeds: Uh, do you know that coconuts are the seeds of palm trees (at least the coconut producing species, Cocos nucifera)? So really I think the "coconut seeds" should just be replaced with a plant-able coconut. In fact, coconuts should be found floating around. It makes sense, they do float and other parts of trees are in the water, plus this would provide the player with some food and water early on, and with lumber and thatch for later.

5. Coconut Food: Coconuts have an edible inside, usually called the "meat", so shouldn't they also provide some hunger? Granted, they probably should give a lot more thirst than hunger, but still.

EDIT: They do give hunger, I was wrong. Disregard 5.

6. Swimming: The ability to swim underwater would be nice, although I can't think of a particular use right now. It would just be a bit fun, maybe expand on it later with underwater things?

7. Fishing Time: For starters, I think fishing is way too quick. Mackerel is a really good food that can be caught very quickly in a short amount of time. It doesn't need to take a long time, but just a bit longer.

EDIT: Ok, really everything can take a bit longer to do, at least for growing vegetables and trees. The water purifier and cooking spit seem about fine.

8. More Fish: More fish would be great, like pufferfish that can be used to make poison to hurt the shark or rarer fish that give more food. Just some more diversity for fish. Also fish that swim around like the shark that can be caught would be awesome, but a bit harder to do I understand.

9. Shark Fighting: Fighting the shark right now basically consists of waiting for it to attack your raft, then shanking it 3-5 times with the spear, and then either harvesting the meat or watch it swim off. The shark attacking the part of your raft with your Water Purifier early in the game is basically a death sentence because you probably don't have a spear yet, which is terrible if you're unlucky enough. So, I think there needs to be more ways to not only fight off the shark, but also hunt them. First, I think the Axe and Hook should able to deal damage to the shark, but only a small amount, that way people can somewhat defend early in the game. Also, there should be a way to more easily attack the shark without having to wait for it to attack the raft, like throwing the spear or something. Otherwise its just a chore waiting around for it to attack and then shanking it and waiting and shanking and waiting and butchering and waiting all over again. Plus adding more sharks as the game progress would be great, which I don't think it does right now. Someone else suggested that possibly sharks grow in number the more of them there are, meaning you need to keep them in-check or else be swarmed, which is a great idea.

EDIT: Shark damage is low as hell right now, to the point they're not a threat. I can easily kill a shark by just shanking it while in the water while being attacked. Later into the game, I eat almost purely shark meat because its so easy. We really need more sharks and for them to do more damage. So what I said above doesn't fully apply anymore, but some still does. Also maybe the Axe should be used to harvest the shark instead of the Spear.

10. Throwing Coconuts: The ability to throw coconuts at the shark would also be fun and ties in to the above idea of early shark defense. Especially if coconuts are found floating around, as I suggested earlier.

11. Current: It would be nice if the current moved the floating items at a slight angle, not dead on like right now. It just feels artificial. I don't think it would really mess up the nets.

12. Corpses: Alright, this sort of breaks my rule about decently easy/quick things to implant (in this case, the model), but finding a floating corpse would be interesting, especially if you could choose to butcher him like the shark, plus maybe he/she has some rare items or something. An interesting moral decision, something real survivors have to cope with sometimes.

So yeah, my suggestion so far. This game has a lot of potential and I hope it isn't squandered like Stranded Deep's was. Keep those updates coming, cheers!
