This was a lot of fun - Chaos and steadily strategic at the same time. Good job!

thank you!

I love that you really need a strategy so they dont put you against the wall :D. Loved the game. no feedback needed

Developer

Thank you so much!

I don't know if this is a terribly unique/original design, but it was one I wasn't super familiar with, so I enjoyed it a lot. Had a bit of a "Tron" feel to it, without being as fast-paced as Tron and other bullet-hell/shooters. The turn-based gameplay felt more strategic, and I really enjoyed that!

Thanks for the game!

Developer

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it!

Fantastic good job!

It’s really nice to see a turn-based strategy game instead of the usual action games in a chaos theme. I also really like the skill system you added and their upgrades it adds a lot of depth to the game. Overall, I’d give it 5/5
Just a couple of things for polish: the AI is extremely strong, so after a certain level I definitely die maybe it’s just me being bad :(, but perhaps you could offer a lower AI difficulty for players like me. Also, adding a health bar for monsters could be helpful since it’s hard to tell how much HP each one has. Overall, great job it’s really well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and thanks for the feedback, all good points I will be implementing.

Submitted(+1)

This is really good! I kinda wish that the enemies ramped up a bit slower, and maybe give them healthbars if you ever decide to add to this, but overall this was great!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much.  Health bars and tuning the difficulty curve are in the plan for post-jam updates!

This was so cool. I love the CRT look, and the game get's pretty interesting very fast. I love your use of input randomness. I'm sure you didn't have enough time, but I was really itching for some music to go with this. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! There is actually music playing but it's turned really low. Can you try turning up your system volume? If you still can't hear it,  let me know and I will patch it after the jam ends/upload a windows exe version (could be a browser issue).

Submitted

You're right, there's definitely music. I was indeed playing on the browser, and it was just very quiet, especially when compared to the sound fx.

Really enjoyed this! The turn-based survivors concept is brilliant - adds so much strategy to the genre. Got completely hooked trying to optimize my builds.

Developer

Thank you so much, glad you liked it :)

Solid game and very cool concept! Those yellow stars are killing me though. You go from pushovers enemies that move up a tile a turn, to some yellow blur that can skip up to 3 tiles and box you in with its twin brother in a single turn.

I really like the game but I wish it would go a bit easier on me ^^. I think an intermediate enemy, like one that could move up to two tiles for example, would make the difficulty curve a bit more gentle and let the player prepare for the real enemy.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. Yes, the yellow guys need nerfing. Part of my post-jam plans!

I love this kind of puzzle games. The control are super simple and intuitive. One thing i didn't like was when you get surrounded and you can calculate that there is no way to win. Maby introduce ai that allways leves a way to excape or something. Here is a video of me playing it:

Developer

Thanks! Yes I plan to balance the AI quite a bit. There are more enemy types players aren't seeing cause the yellow enemies are too hard to get past.

Submitted(+2)

First off, the crt effect looks really cool! turn based puzzle used to be my thing, so I can appreciate how hard it is actually to balance it out. Overall good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Submitted(+2)

This is actually super fun. I haven't played too many games like these, but I love the turn-based twist you placed on it as opposed to bullet hell-ish gameplay. Definitely see myself playing a completed version to pass time and slowly build up on hours played 😅

Thank you!

Whoa, if this game just had more content added, I’d totally buy it and play it! That’s amazing! I like this style!

Best game ive played on this jam(out of about 10 of them). My first try was the best lol, i got 47 on first try and then for 5 tries couldnt reach even 40

Submitted

im fuming because i had a good run and a ship just spawned on me and i insta died

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I am glad you liked it! The highest score I've heard personally is 60 odd turns (which I've not even come close to!) This means a lot :)

Submitted(+2)

I played this game until I reached 40 turns. It's incredibly fresh and addicting, and the visuals are ridiculously good, too. If you ever put this up on Steam, I'd wishlist it in a heartbeat.

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! ❤️

Submitted(+1)

Love the retro style! I got up to 40 missiles strikes and it was awesome seeing the screen explode lol. Can't wait to try more builds!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Great game, interesting strategically !

Submitted(+2)

Elegant, gridbased, retro style game which looks amazing. I love this game but I cant seem to get past level 2 haha, I will definitely try again later.

Submitted(+1)

Also, have you managed to get the glow effect to work in the browser build in godot? Your game looks really good but maybe you dont use any glow?

Developer(+1)

I actually do use it, but it's not very strong.

Submitted(+2)

I really like this concept. It’s fun! And the fact that dead enemies become obstacles makes it more challenging and adds extra thought to your next move.
