Good Storytelling make this game purposeful!.This Kind of storytelling and engagement is rare in this game jam! Thanks for your great job
Wow thank you so much. I tried hard to have a nice story telling experience. :D. Keep up the good work as well.
Took me a few tries just to figure out the controls, lol. The premise is delightfully full of chaos (mosquitoes killing a star?!? How do you come up with this!) Very creative idea, and I liked that I could re-read the mission objective-- if there was a little bit of gameplay help (how to use the controls) in that mission objective, it might be a more useful.
Thanks for the game!
Thanks! I am glad you find this creative :D. It is just one of those ideas that come out of nowhere. Ill keep that tip in mind! thank you again and keep up the good work yourself.
Nice classic game :)! I would love to see some power-ups or different types of mosquitoes for variety.
Thanks I appreciate your feedback! Definitely those things are good ideas. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Perfect timing for this game! Mosquitos are so annoying, especially this time of year. Nothing more satisfying than squashing them before they bite! =) I couldn’t get very far thouh.
yeah this time of year we all need to blow of steam on mosquitos. Yeah I do need to adjust the difficulty a bit thanks for the advice!
Very cute game! I love the intro and the fact that the game takes itself very seriously, it's very funny. Keep it up!
hahaha I am glad you liked it! Thanks for the kind words. and keep up the good work as well.
Perfect fit for the theme. Main feedback would be to have a visual indicator of how big the star can get before exploding and to lower the threshold for the blood converter slightly.
Thanks for your nice words. But I thought the sun meter is enough? Good point on the blood conversion :D it is a bit too hard I guess. THanks!
Nailed the chaos theme here. Love squashing mosquitos, especially this time of year. I agree with some of the players that I think a bit more game feel, visual FX, and juice would really help the game come to life. But hey, it's a game jam. Great work for just 72 hours working solo!
Thank you for very much. yeah this time of year we all need to blow of steam on these virtual mosquitos (and real ones). Yeah definitely needs blood splatter :D and other effects. Thanks again.
Awesome defender mechanic! Love how you have to hit them right on the fly swatter sweet spot. It was pretty dang hard though felt like I was doing terribly XD
Thanks! Yeah I wanted to seem realistic thats why. I know it is difficult because I didnt bother making scaling difficulty so just made it hardest possible kinda like dark souls :D.
Hey! I just tried Mosquito Wars and I gotta say — the idea is super unique and perfectly chaotic, really fits the theme. The whole “fight the mosquitoes” thing is so random in the best way (i also hate mosquitoes).
I know the game’s still rough — the visuals could use some work (would love to see a cool splat or effect when you take down a mosquito), and the gameplay feels a bit raw, but hey, with only 72 hours to make it and it being one of your first games, that’s totally expected. With each new game you make, you’ll just keep getting better and better.
One thing I noticed — when you go into “Check Directive,” the timer doesn’t stop (I think this minor bug can be fixed during the voting period)
Anyway, great start! The chaos vibe is spot on. Keep making games, I’m sure you’ll level up fast!
Hey thank you very much for the good words. I agree visuals and gameplay need improvement but as you said each time it will get better hopefully. Btw, I fixed the bug based on your advice and added the fix explanation to the devlog of the game as well so thanks for pointing it out. Keep up the good work!
