nice classic type of game. sometimes however i can push items if i come to them from the side? idk if this was meant to be a mechanic or whatever but just fyi. good job and keep up the good work.
Fun little game.. I actually liked how totally absurd and random the objects are. Music gets old after a while though.
The dash is very well implemented! Just, I would've love to see more content to keep me engaged for longer
This was good fun. Note to players, please click full-screen, for some reason the main menu is only partially visible on the web build otherwise. Some feedback, the idea and execution is really good, especially with the music. However, as others have pointed out, the visual language can be improved by highlighting the diamond or maybe giving a red tint to harmful objects. Currently, it relies on cultural context of players understanding that yes diamonds are precious items which should be collected which pushes the player to collect the diamonds, not the game highlighting it as a thing you should collect. I initially thought the little/big ghost looking things were friends to collect, till I actually touched one of them. Not sure if that makes sense, but I see you're cooking something here. Good job.
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback. I totally get what you mean about the visual language maybe I can add some VFX or change the color/sprite to make the diamond stand out more, and give harmful objects clearer outline Also, thanks for the heads-up about the full-screen issue, I’ll see if I can fix that too. Glad you had fun and Thanks a lot again Your feedback was really helpful. ^^
Simple but fun! I like how the difficulty spikes slowly, adds a bit of a challenge and prevents it from being repetitive too quick. I wish the diamonds blended a little less into the background though but great anyway! :D
Fun little game. It definitely feels very chaotic. The art style is nice and simple but sometimes it doesn’t always feel right. Maybe by changing the diamond so it stands out more could help for the player feedback. The music sometimes feels a bit overwhelming, it could maybe do good with a different sound track. The dashing mechanic does make the gameplay feel a lot more enjoyable. Maybe adding a jump could also be fun? With a bit more polishing this could really be a fun game! Good job!
I like the idea of having to dodge things that randomly spawn in! A couple of things I encountered that could use improvement:
1. Loading into the game, everything seemed zoomed in by default; this made it difficult to navigate menus and such. Also, it seems like there's a health system and points, but I couldn't see them because of the zoom. Hopefully this was just on my end and others don't have the same experience.
2. After losing a run and restarting, I'm not able to move, it's as though the controls get disabled between one run and the next.
3. I enjoy the pixel art, but it seemed too random. There were bombs, diamonds, ghosts?, and other miscellaneous stuff. I'd recommend picking a theme (such as "trash vs. treasure") and leaning more into it with the assets.
Good job on submitting!
I loved the music, the dashing made the game very chaotic! I was a little confused how to get points at first but I figured it out! With a bit more polish I feel like this could be a great game! A little recommendation I have though is to change the color of the diamond sprite, although that could just me being dumb(╥﹏╥)
Thank you so much for your feedback! 🙏
And yes, you’re absolutely right the diamonds not being clearly distinguishable as collectable objects is definitely a problem. I realized that afterwards. My sprite skills were pretty bad, and I actually started learning right after the jam began two days ago. I thought the easiest style for me would be using only black and white tones, so I went with that. But later, I thought it would have been much better if I had used blue tones or blended multiple colors just for the diamond to make it stand out. I completely agree with your point
