Fun little game, but very tiring for the hands. I'm glad you decided to actually include WASD and the arrow keys, as you use this to switch hands seamlessly. The game is still pretty tough though, but the concept is nice and I like the interpretation of the theme. Good job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! I wanted the game to feel challenging to convey the feeling of out of control (the tapping serves this purpose too), but I think I could have toned it down a bit and still achieved the same game feel

Thanks for playing, and the feedback is always appreciated 👍

Interesting idea, but I'd say the current is a bit too strong and changes too quickly. Perhaps there can be a small pause in current as it changes from one direction to the other. Some UI to indicate my progress would be nice as well.

Developer

Progress UI is something I should have included for sure.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback, these are definitely things I'll be keeping in mind for future games

Nice concept :)
Thanks for the game !

Developer

Glad you like it!

Nicely done. There is a good feeling of being in a storm. But the audio sounds more like a gentle breeze.

Developer

Yeah I was afraid it's too soft... Audio is definitely something I'll be focusing on more in my future games

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Great game! your idea is very original.

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

Managed to beat it, though there were plenty of close shaves :p I really like how the rocks pull you in, makes things a lot more interesting.

The waves did not immediately register to me as obstacles -- it took a couple tries before I realized what was going on. Not sure how you'd make that more clear, maybe debris riding on the waves that crashes into your ship?

Nice work :)

Developer(+1)

Oooh debris in the waves is a good one. The wave sprites should have been more sinister looking, and I should have probably beefed up the audio around them 🤔

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

I had a fun time playing this! everything fit together well! good job!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Simple but well presented. I felt like I was playing "Gusty Glade" from Donkey Kong Country 2 because of the shift in the wind :D The waves are a nice touch

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Great idea and execution, control seems a bit weird in the beginning, but when I got into I did some Matrix style dodge maneuvers, really satisfying

I didn't know in the beginning if this would be an endless game or not, an Indication for that would be nice ( I still managed to get to the shore)

Nothing to complain about other than that :)

Developer(+1)

Yea the progress indicator is a big miss on my part, I'll be keeping that in mind for future games

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

It was fun playing your game! I really like the art style and out of control movement.! If you like  this idea, keep working on it!  Awesome job submitting a challenging game to this jam and i hope you improve your game making skills :) If you have time, please check out my game :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! Will check out your game

Fun game! Just hard enough to control to make it challenging but not too hard that it's frustrating. I had fun :)

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it!

Oddly relaxing for so much chaos.

Developer

Hehe, must be the audio :p

Thanks for playing!

Yay a rowing game! I was beginning to think we were the only ones who submitted one for this jam :'D. We really wanted to add a wind mechanic in our game but I think it works better in this game than it would in ours. I think the only thing to really be worked on is what other people are commenting which is just having something to measure the players success outside of how far they get just to add a bit more depth. Still a very cool game!

Developer(+1)

Haha, I came into this jam wanting to make a rowing game :p

Glad you like it and thanks for playing!

Check out ours and we can compare notes!

This was a really nice little game. I've barely seen any games this jam that go with the idea of the wind constantly changing but it's a smart mechanic and made the game out of control without feeling unfair. This could become a really fun game if the idea was explored more after the game jam. Great job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the feedback!

I went pretty far I think (the corridor of rocks)

Like that game very much!

Some kind of progression indicator (a score, or a map) would be a good addition

The feeling of being almost in control but not really is on the nose!

And the sfx are nice!

Developer(+1)

You did get pretty far, that corridor was the last obstacle!

Submitted

Haaa I had the feeling. I'll come back to the game to finish it then ^^

Submitted

Great game! Would add to the commets about adding a score/timing... just to compare between plays.

Developer

Glad you like it. Yeah a progress bar was a quick win that I didn't think of before the jam ended :(

Submitted

Really love the idea and you've captured the feeling of struggling against the elements perfectly :-)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Awesome to know you like how the game feels
