I played this longer than any other game during the jam, really impressive and simple concept. quite the experience, truly enjoyed.

Almost last game I test for the jam... And I'm jealous!

The conceit is fun. I love only jumping!

Few things, I would suggest:

- some kind of way to see past attempts (like replay meetboy style),

- If I'm not mistaken there is some air control, maybe tutorialize it more

Art and level design is banger! I'm curious, are you using ogmo editor for the level design ?

Maybe the best game of the jam i've played!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm not using ogmo, just unity rule tiles, tilemaps, and object prefabs

I absolutely suck at this game. But i also think you did a fantastic job with the theme and the mechanics. I had a lot of fun playing this game and continued to do so well after I died. My game also had some control taken away via the platforms, but I think your game did it in a very simple and more conceivable way by the user immediately. I hope to achieve a similar result in my game once the jam is over. Great work! I had a lot of fun with it.

It's a neat idea, but the game is also quite difficult. Perhaps there can be some leaning control or some control when you're in the air.

Loved this one, everything feels in place. Great job!

Rocking the level design here, and the gameplay is pretty good. I thought this was really enjoyable!

This was, hands down, one of my favorite games I've played this whole jam. Sound design is great, art is phenominal, the level design is about as close to perfect as it can get. You introduced mechanics gradually and it feels like you got as much mileage as possible out of the mechanics you added in. Also, the words at the beginning of each level to hint at what you're supposed to do was really smart.

I feel like I definitely learned something to apply for future jams regarding a simple idea and mechanics that can be fleshed out in interesting ways. You did amazing for your only mechanics being the jump and rotating platforms. I love this game a lot and would definitely play it casually if you continued development (please do that if you have the time and desire to do so). I have zero criticisms, you hit a grand slam with this one, I love it <3

PS: The character reminds me of Gido from Hunter x Hunter:

Glad you liked it :)

A friend pointed the Gido thing out to me after the jam -- definitely didn't have him in mind but it's pretty funny how close it is.

Really cool concept and a very fun game. Considering how much I died a real quick restart would be appreciated, but that's just me being impatient. The visuals and music was very pleasing as well. Overall a great game. Nice job!

Wow, fantastic idea, I'd love to see it being finished! But please, if you make a game in which a player is supposed to do something a lot (die and jump in this case), make these actions quicker and delays shorter. ;)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I added in a quick kill button late in the jam so I didn't really have the time to mention it within the game. The delay might still be a little too long even with that since it still goes through the death animation.

The main mechanic is actually pretty fun, but after a few levels it became really hard, at least for me. The art is so good. You really nailed it! I enjoyed playing this a lot. Great job!

At first I was not convinced of the only jumpf movement, but after the first 3 levels I got pretty in to it. The game feels really great. The levels are hard but not too hard and frustrating. Definitly one of my favorites. Great job.

That was nice.

The only thing I didn't like is that if I landed on the wrong side of a platform, there was nothing I could do to save it. Maybe it would have benefited more platforms instead of just a couple few so that the path is less linear?

Nice vibe, and nice entry!

Developer

Definitely something to consider if I keep going with this. Thanks for the feedback :)

Very elegant design, I like when developers are going with minimal amount of input.

It gets tough pretty fast though, and there are situations, when you jumped on the wrong side of platform, so you're rotating in the wrong way, which cannot be saved at that point anymore.

But I enjoyed it very much and would like to see, how would the game feel, when there would be some sort of indicator (where character will jump when I release the button).

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm a little hesitant to add an indicator of where you'll land since that would make some things pretty trivial, but it's definitely something to think about.

Wow this is really cool! love the graphics and the main mechanic is really fun to play with

Perfectly in the theme! Well done!

Good music. Good graphics. I appreciate that you didn't waste my time with long level restarts. Great entry. Thanks.

This game looks great and plays great. I can't believe how much content you managed to put out with only 48 hours! Some of the levels felt a little too finnicky to me, but the fast restart time helped that.

I feel like the game is only a fairly loose fit to the theme, but it is a very well designed and fun platformer. Great job!

The pixel art is very beautiful! The idea of the game is very cool. With more time to development it can easily become a full indie platformer game like Celeste or The End is Nigh. Talking about them, I just think that a little more feedback, like your intended trajectory, and be able to view all level would be great additions to your game :) Hope to see more of it

This is a really unique idea for the game jam that I haven't seen done yet. I could feel Shovel Knight vibes coming from it, from the art style to the unique movement scheme of the character. This would really work as well on mobile. Great game, a highlight of the jam :)

Super cool concept. Difficulty curve is a bit steep at first, but it's really fun once you get the hang of it. Great job!
