Nice game, it reminds me of 2048. I enjoyed watching the city grow, but I didn't know the loose condition until I got the game over screen. Perhaps changing up the island a bit each attempt, would create for some more variaty in the world.
Well done, nice art, bit hard to click through bigger building.
I like it! The art and music especially! The gameplay was simple and fun, but the isometric view kept getting in the way, and making hard to make the moves I was meaning to.
Really glad you like the game!
Thanks for the feedback too. We thought the top-down view in our submission was good enough but we've heard all the feedback and have made a lot of improvements to the camera in our recent builds!
Very nice and polished! Thank you for adding the chill mode, it's a nice way to learn the mechanics before things get wild. Great job!
A fantastic game. A fun take on the 2048 style merging games. If there was a mobile variation on this game I could see myself getting dangerously addicted.
At first I thought "this is so chill and nice". Then you finally start reaching the edges, and the panic knocks up a notch haha.
Well done, love your work.
Fun game! Everything is well done, but I would have liked a more "Out of control" thing. Anyway, your game is very good. Deserves to be at least top 100.
Wow it looked really polished! It was fun combining things and watching them grow~ The game title logo is designed so well too. Congrats on submitting a cool city building puzzle game to the jam! Please check out mine if you haven't :D
This one took some getting used to but I ended up really liking it! I think with a bit of refinement of the mechanics this could be a really addicting game! It reminds me of matching games like 2048, but it's also got far more advanced spatial optimization. It might be helpful to make the beginning a bit more streamlined, since it took me a while to figure out what to do, as well as what the loss condition was. It also might be worth making the spawns of new buildings be dependent on moves rather than time, to enable the player to employ more strategy towards the end, instead of just frantically rushing to clear the borders. Overall, I had a ton of fun with this game so my suggestions are more minor.
Thanks for the feedback! We're glad you liked the game, and thanks for sticking with it :)
We hadn't thought at all about making the game more turn-based, with sprawl depending on player moves. That would change the game a lot but it's a really neat idea that we should definitely try out. Thanks!
What a charming little game, very well done, looks great!
What a really cool game! I really like the aesthetic and game feel and love how it gets out of control at an increasing rate. Only real feedback is the same as what other people have said in just maybe adding a way for the player to rotate and look top down. Other than that this is definitely one of the best games of the jam!
Thanks for the kind words!
The feedback all around has been super helpful in improving the game. We've added rotation to the game already which improves a lot! There is already a top down view when you zoom out but it's not obvious that it's there... We also added coloured roofs to make that view cleaner to use!
That all sounds like it will work great! We've been having a lot of feedback about our controls too. The power of play testers is not to be underestimated :'D
I really like this. Definitely feels "out of control" after a short while! Only issue is that it'd be good to be able to rotate the camera freely so you can easily click on buildings behind other buildings.
Thanks for playing!
We've got this feedback a lot and totally agree. We added zoom out into a top-down view to solve this, but we added rotation since we submitted and we agree that it adds a lot!
Really cool game, it's like a combination of Sim City and 2048. I never would have guessed that would have worked as a concept, but looks like it did! Good work.
Excellent game! This fits the theme so well and feels polished! I appreciate the zen mode, and it's oddly satisfying to see the city grow. Great work.
This was quite enjoyable. The music complemented the relaxing nature of the game, and I liked that it felt a bit out of control, but not super hectic.
The only major issue I had was how difficult it was to see/select buildings that were hidden behind other buildings, particularly towards the end of the game. Good job!
I really like this. Not sure why but it is satisfying to combine the buildings. Thumbs Up.
Love city builders and merger games and this is a fun frantic spin on those genres.. A couple frustration points: trying to move objects hidden behind buildings is a bit annoying (can be solved by scrolling out but then it's harder to distinguish what type of buildings they are. Also, buildings naturally upgrading can sometimes annoy, because it feels bad to be setting up for a big merge then one of the things you were about to merge into suddenly upgrades, throwing the plan into disarray.. Maybe that was the point. Extremely enjoyable!
Really loving both modes. Zen mode lets you find out how far those houses go (and they go faaaaaar). Challenge mode really gives you that out-of-control feel. Good take on the theme!
Also wow you made all those models AND the music within the timeframe? Good stuff.
Thanks for the kind words! We're glad you liked the game!
Very simple but challenging game. Awesome work :D
Hey, thanks for stopping by the stream last night, I rated just now and the VOD is posted here if you're interested:

Hi, played your game. I think it fits the theme well. But I might be too much of a neanderthal to understand your game. A good game for 48 hours. You can check out my gameplay here.
Thanks for playing!
Unfortunately you missed the main mechanic of the game, which is that you can drag buildings of the same type into each other to merge them into a higher tier. This reduces the number of buildings, but accelerates the sprawl.
The goal is to get as many high tier buildings as you can without the city reaching the edge of the grid.
In any case, you looked like you had fun watching the game on autopilot, which is exactly what zen mode is for :D . Thanks again!
Ah, I see. Will try it again 😅
