Well done for completing your first game jam game, it's really cool :) ! I love the pixel art and sound effects. Running through this dungeon with a stout dwarf gave me a lovely dungeons and dragons feel. Level 2 was really hard for me xD, but thankfully restarting was pretty fast, though having the fade in even FASTER would have been awesome :)
All in all good job, keep it up !

Developer

Yaaaaaaay! This is awesome. Thank you so much for taking time to play my game!

If you are just starting to do pixel art your definitely on the right track, the art is awesome! sound effects are on point as well. Really like the challenging platformer with the unique way you use all the dwarves

Developer

I have been doing pixel art for a while - however there is still a loooooooooooooot of things for me to learn. Thank you for your feedback! :)

Pretty nice! The effects are nice and it was very clear what each thing did.

Developer

Thank you so much :).

You did an amazing job polishing the art and presentation. The level design was also top-notch!

Developer

Thank you! I am very happy to see you liked the game :).

Great game overall, loved the art!

Developer

Thank you! :)

Love the art!!! Great puzzle element with the multiple players! Would play a full game of this in a heartbeat!

Developer

Thank you so much! I will make sure to provide regular updates. I have prepared a road map - it should not take too much time to implement everything :).

I really liked the gameplay!

It reminded me of a game I made some years ago for a different game jam: https://renato-grottesi.itch.io/consciousness-beam

Developer

Thank you so much! I will be more than happy to check out your game! :)

I read One Butt Dwarf and was bit disappointed... just kidding. I like the art style and the sound design. The second level really is a hurdle especially because it stands between the player and the first level where the essential gameplay idea is first used. Maybe you should try to make this a bit easier.

PS: Of course I would like your rating on my game as well ;) https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/460633

Developer

I hope you managed to get through the second level as the game really starts after that! :) Thank you for your feedback, this will be actually one of the first things I will enhance when I will have a moment!

I will be more than happy to try your game!

Submitted

Yes, I made it through Level 2 after getting some feel for the controls. After that I quickly got the general idea you were following. Brave dwarfs sacrificing themselves to help their comrade reach the goal.

Developer

Very happy to see that you have done it! :)

Submitted

Died a lot in the second level, but it was fun! But I didn't know what was the "only one" here, so I'm assuming it was *only* the player!

Developer

Hey GamerKing885,

I understand that you did not manage to get pass the second level? Only after that the main mechanics is introduced.

You control several dwarfs but only one of them has to reach the exit :)

Submitted

Ah, okay...

Very nice game. Although, I cannot tell whether or not this game had coyote time.

Developer

Unfortunately the game does not have coyote time, this is one of the first improvements I will make after the jam is completed :).

Love your game, it's kind frustrating but not in a bad way,

I would love if you could play and rate my game as well https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462492

Developer

It is very frustrating! I see my friends playing it and getting mad - this is my fault. I assumed my skills are terrible and the game should be as difficult as I can handle it haha. Thank you for your comment! I will be more than happy to play your game :)

Submitted

Liked the idea but the game is very hard. Adding 'just in time' to your jump would have made it feel nicer or move the platforms closer together. Nice art and sound though! Not sure if there was enough camera shake on the start

Developer

The comments are so consistent. I feel so frustrated I cannot add better jumping for all of you guys! Thank you for playing my game. I hope you will find few minutes to play it when I make some improvements :)

I know it's frustrating but we do jams to learn. Can always improve the jump after the voting :)

I like the sound effects. But I couldn't get pass the second level :(

Developer

Oh no, That is very sad. You lost a lot! Did you try to zoom in the game a bit?

(+1)

Yea. I guess it might be easier, when the jump button wouldn't be at the same place as the move buttons. Or at least for me, as it seems I can't move and jump with the same hand.

Took me not only one, but 63 Restarts and 92 dead dwarves! :D Amazing game, giving me some strong "Life Goes On: Done To Death"-Vibes (great puzzle game -  if you don't know it, check it out!). I really dig the artstyle, the menu design is lovely and the soundtrack also fits well (even though it seems to come and go somewhat randomly). It's a shame the main mechanic of the game is only introduced in level 3, because many people will likely have trouble making it through level 2 already. As others have already pointed out, the game would hugely benefit from a more generous jump, probably using coyote time. But after a while you will get used to jumping in the last moment, so really: give it a go, it's worth it! :)

I feel like the screenshake is a bit heavy however and I swear it sometimes moved the other dwarves when one dwarf fell through his dead! Speaking of which: once a dwarf is dead, the next one will be automatically selected and is immediately able to move - cashing in a few additional, unnecessary deaths. :( A clear introduction of fall damage (i.e. the amount of tiles a character can fall without dying) and the difference between low and high spikes (if a dwarf died on the former ones, the next one can safely walk on his body, for the latter ones, this is not the case) would have also been appreciated.

Such an amazing feedback! Thank you so much. As soon as the game jam is over I will make sure to implement your insights! I will be more than happy to play your game! :)

The theme was nice. Like the sound effects most of all. Nice job man :)

Developer

Thank you! I really appreciate it!

The art looks pretty amazing and that title screen needs some recognition, it's so polished!

Developer

Thank you <3.

Love the theme, really great mix of puzzle and platformer. the platforming on the second level was hard though haha, or I just suck at platformers

Developer

Thank you! I will redesign the level slightly to make it more forgiving.

Submitted(+1)

I made it about 5 or 6 levels in. The idea is pretty cool, but the jump physics were not very forgiving (you could use some Coyote time, for example, like in the recent GMTK video on Celeste.) A "rewind" button would have been sufficient to make this not feel frustrating.

Developer

I will try to add custom movement as I used 'standard controller' as most of negative comments are due to the jump physics.

When it comes to rewind - his is just awesome idea. I do have a small idea how to implement it!

Thank you :)

Nice little platformer and a very cute design.

Developer

Thank you! :)
