Theme interpretation
Our game incorporates multiple hybrid elements, with style and gameplay. Our main menu features an original drawing while all other sprites were made in 8-bit style. Our gameplay fuses elements of a platformer and a puzzle-type game, making the player think about how to approach each level. Additionally, the player has the ability to change "dimensions," serving as a hybrid of sorts between two dimensions, contrasting by the blue and orange colors. Each level combines both dimensions into a hybrid puzzle platformer.

We had very similar ideas when creating our games! Our game is also one where you switch dimensions, or as we call it perception. Super solid idea, but as already mentioned (and as we found with our game) keyboard controls are really difficult.

Would have loved to give this a go with an Xbox controller!

Really good games, I'm always up for platformers. The input doesn't always work though, making the game really frustrating.

Like the visuals and the gameplay idea, but the gameplay is to hard to play on keyboard. I also think the learning curve for the game is too high. The soundtrack is absolutly not mine (too much going on). Also the tutorial message to move is placed odd. You need to find the movekeys and then few meters later the game tells you it's arrowkeys.

Was really intrigued by this game because it does a few similar things to my game in terms of button combos and tricky platforming.

I really really like the idea of swapping between "dimensions" as part of the puzzle, but holy hell was it frustrating to pull off. The controls just aren't ideal for the button combos needed to pull off some of this complicated platforming. For instance, I found wall jumps almost impossible without using two hands on my arrow keys. But with some polish this could really shine!

Appreciate it! We agree, the wall-jump controls aren't as natural as we'd like yet but we're hoping to improve it if we continue development. Perhaps we will add in a jump key in addition to the up arrow key!

That would be great!

Damn! Nice interpretation! The game also feels smooth and is quite easy to understand thanks to those tutorials, pretty nice work!

Check our game if you have time :)

Audio is freaking awesome!

I love the idea! :D I would use another button to jump instead of the upper arrow. I think this could improve a lot the gameplay. Consider trying our entry as well ;)

Very interesting platformer. Too bad I suck at these kind of games and my keyboard cannot register pressing up, left and x keys at the same time :(

Really a great game and perfect platformer!!

do check our game too

This game is seriously fantastic. I just wish the keys were bound differently or that controllers worked. The way they were set up just didn't feel natural and I felt like I spent a long time just fighting with my muscle memory on when to do each action (mostly because of other similar games)

But seriously brilliant design that is immediately graspable. I think there's something magical here.

We really appreciate the feedback! We just added support for players using console controllers so give that a try!

I really like this, soundtrack is awesome, and the dimension switching is very innovative.  Thanks for the mac download!

Fun little game, love the dimension swapping!

Tough feels like jump should be space, it's quite hard to wall jump on the keyboard

This looks good, great soundwork, and the premise is neat (love the vending machines as checkpoints too), but I'm finding it hard to do the wall-jump & dimension swap on keyboard,

I tried using my Xbox One gamepad but it seems like the dimension swap binding is missing? Dpad & Y are movement/dash, can't find the button for swapping.

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, we didn't map the dimension switching for controllers yet (we primarily had keyboard bindings in mind when we were making it) but we'll be sure to add it in soon. Sorry about that!

No worries at all, input bindings across control methods are always the bane of a jam project imo (I got super lucky with someone making a simple input asset for Unity to handle a lot of the trouble with it).

Developer(+1)

Looks like the Jam Host said it was OK to push quick fixes to add support for another platform, so we've gone ahead and binded the controls for controllers as well. Try giving it a go!

Controls: D-pad: Movement, [PS "O", XBox "B" Nintendo "A"]: Switch dimensions with your time-piece, [PS "X", XBox "A", Nintendo "B"]: Dash

Challenging and responsive to play. Great visuals and music. Awesome work!

Overall, I think this is a nice game. Good music, nice graphics (that cover image is looking pretty good, too), and good level design.
