Simple, but quite fun mechanic, well implemented in a bigger game - good job! :)

I'd like some more feedback on shooting and getting hurt, if you'll be extending upon this idea ;)

This is not my type of game but it's definitely well polished and looks really nice.

One thing though is that be missile launcher/bazooka only shoots it's projectile after the knockback making it really hard to aim with

There are some other submission with the same idea, but this one is the best of them!

Looks polished and well executed. Well done :)

Cool idea and the gameplay is really fun too :) and i love the art also !!

One of the most polished submissions I've seen on this concept. It's not super original, but it's fun, the visuals are very polished and reminiscent of old gameboy games, really cool!

The idea of a rogue-like game with out of control movement is a big challenge but you managed it really well ! The enemies are varied and easily understandable, the music, sounds and aesthetic is stunning ! Great work ! I was wondering if the levels are randomly generated or not ? nonetheless AMAZING GAME that can easily get expended on !

Hey, thanks for taking the time to play and leave feedback!

The levels are randomly generated, which took us a while initially, but ultimately meant we could make endless content and didn't have to spend any time on level design!

Glad you enjoyed playing :)

Nice take on shoot to move! It was definitely challenging, and I wasn't able to get past the third level, but the gameplay was definitely fun and satisfying. I like the black-and-white art style, as well as the sound design. It did seem like there wasn't much reason to pick up the powerups, except maybe the vampire one which transforms the game in a really cool way!

Looks like I've found this years shoot-to-move game!

The art here is cool and arcade-looking, and I'm not sure if you made the music, but it is epic and a perfect fit. My main criticism with this game is that it doesn't lean into the theme enough, especially when its main gimmick has been done before in previous jams.

It seems like the levels might be randomly generated? If so, that's very impressive for 48 hours. And the game controls well. Good job.

First off, great work, very fun, very difficult, and creating a procedural dungeon generator in 48hrs is insane, and other than lacking a menu of some kind this game is quite polished, big fan of the artwork. Other than the afforementioned menu, I do feel like perhaps the player should have some added level of control even just a little bit, be it perhaps a short dodge mechanic on a timer, or the ability to hold down one of the mouse buttons to halve-movement, something along those lines I think would help a lot especially when wielding the missle (or heavy?) gun. Seriously impressive work, and great entry!

Oh this one is great! Big props to the composer that worked on this entry, the track fits the whole chaos in the game really well and I'd love a release of the track on Soundcloud or something.

Presentation wise, I like the minimal use of red to signify both good and dangerous things. I think the hitboxes might need some work as most of the enemies that touched me didn't hurt me (Unless this is meant to happen) and a few of my shots seemed to go through enemies at times. Nothing that took me away from the experience though, and I had lots of fun playing this one! Rated.

This is probably the most polished shoot-to-move game I've seen in the jam! It feels really nice to play and the art style makes everything really clear. Excellent job!

Really cool game and it looks amazing :D
GG for making it in 48hours !

this game is incredible! beautiful art and immersive style! my only gripe would be the lack of tutorial/main menu. given the unique nature of the powerups, i had no clue what i was supposed to do when i got them, or if they even did anything. a tutorial or even just a legend on the main menu that explains them would improve this game VASTLY. also, a boss battle or some feeling of progression is definitely needed to keep the player engaged as they get better at the game. but overall, great job! this is a wonderful game :D

Hey thanks :) Yes we wanted to add a tutorial/item descriptions but ran out of time :( we put these on the main itch page  in an attempt to make up for this but the gmtk page has less scope for description! A boss battle is also a great idea, definitely going to look to implement something like that after the jam!

thanks for taking the time to play and give feeeback. Glad you enjoyed!

While there's been a few shoot to move games in these jams before, I'm blown away that the game is procedurally generated and that you made such an immersive game in just 48 hours! I really liked the control scheme, it felt nice to control and it really streamlined the game. Mouse only is really comfortable to play!

I also like how the different enemies are so unique, and you have to employ different strategies for each. I had a blast (ba dum tsss) shooting away and dodging bullets, felt like a pro gamer everytime I shot someone and moved away just in time.

My only thing is that the items were a little confusing, I know you ran out of time to make a tutorial but that's my only critique. Other than that, I loved the use of just 3 colors and the MUSIC! I'm a music guy and I absolutely loved your soundtrack, so cool :)

Developer

Thanks so much for taking the time to play :) I'll pass your compliments onto our music guy. I was super impressed with the track too!

I'm glad you enjoyed :)

Really solid solution for movement + combat, the fact that you usually want to go and aim towards different directions was an elegant solution for feeling constantly out of control. The game also looks nice, wish we had a little more red on threats (a la Downwell), and the sound of the flamethrower drove me crazy bahahahah. I think I had some collision issues? Or maybe I take damage on a timer as well? I'm not sure.

Either way, amazing submission, congrats!

Developer

One of the powerups drains your health over time unless you kill enemies in a time limit, it might have been that. I would have loved to add a tutorial but we ran out of time so I had to put the instructions on the main itch page :( 48 hours is a killer!

Thanks for taking the time to play and leave feedback!

Oh yeah, that was it then! Thanks

What a really fun and exciting game! Shooting to propel yourself is a great mechanic and the whole gameplay overall has been very smooth.

I sucked at this game, but it was fun so I kept trying it again and again. I feel like I'll go back to this even after the voting period is over. xP In terms of critiques maybe some more juice would be nice OuO
