Simple but well made! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam compilation video series, if you鈥檇 like to take a look. :)
This was an interesting puzzle game, and fits the theme quite nicely! The one design choice that confused me a little is the blocks that slide outside of the turn-based movement
Thanks! Fair enough i guess its just comes to personal taste. Im gonna add both turn based and real-time blocks to the post-jam version
Good game concept! Its a very good use of the theme in a puzzle game. Only two things I think that could be improved after the jam is, maybe the objects of the scenery could only move when you move and could have some kind of "alert" to show where will be fire in the next move or even in the next few moves. Overall its a great game with a lots of potential :)
Thanks! Im thinking of adding both things that move turn based like the player does and some real time things. Yea ive had some comments asking for that which i think is a pretty good idea. Thank you :)
Really clever idea. Thing's get out of control pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I just couldn't figure out the 4th(?) level. When you go down 1 square to get the key, I could never figure out how to go upwards again since there was always a fire there.
Nevertheless, the mechanics are straightforward enough that I could immediately see the potential of a game like this. Well done!
Thank you! Ah you have to move past the sliding blocks while its in the top position so it stops the fire getting ahead of you. Ideally i could have had more time to actually show you you can do it!
Thanks so much! Keep an eye out for my post-jam version if you want to see more :)
Aha exactly
Great game, it was fun trying to work out how to move and not burn myself :)
Thanks im glad you enjoyed it! :)
Nice game. I like how you can block the fire if you move at the right time. The sound got a little loud when there was a lot of fire, but besides that, I think you did a good job :)
Thank you! Yea it's a problem with the way I implemented sound, only realised it after the deadline
Like this little game it's kinda neat 馃憤
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Pretty cool Overall. Though maybe the right word for it would be hot! Da-dam-tish
Aha very nice, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Oh I like this! Nice mechanics and the graphics are spot on!! Very nicely done. :)
Thanks I'm glad you like it!
Hey, pretty good. I made a game for the 2017 GMTK game jam that had a similar mechanic. It would be neat to see the game be expanded into more levels so I could see what kinds of unique twists you could put on the fire mechanic. Already, a good idea that is new to me are the moving blocks -- they require you to move at the right time to block the fire from spreading as fast.
That's cool! Yea in the post-jam version I can add all the ideas I had to cut for tim. I'm glad you liked it :)
So simple yet so clever. At first I thought that the moving platform were useless in a turn based game. But then I realized they are part of the puzzle since they stop the spread of the fire. Absolutely brilliant! The only issue is that the game is so short, would have love to play more :)
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Yea it's a shame I only got that many levels out in the jam but the post-jam version will have more :)
Fun game :) The sound FX got progressively louder the more the fire spread to the point that I needed to turn my volume down. I didn't find myself struggling with the puzzle elements too much, but it was fun regardless. Well done!
Thanks! Aha yea, audio was a last minute add and i only realised it did that after the deadline, hope it didnt burst your ears! Hopefully in the post-jam version there will be more challenging puzzles :)
Very cool game ! I made it to the end :D
Thanks for the game :D
Thanks for playing!
I like it! Fun little puzzle game. Definitely would play more levels.
Glad you enjoyed it! Well Im making a post-jam version so if you wanna see more levels and mechanics following will let you know when i post it
Really enjoyed this! really cool concept and the game design was great! good job!
Thanks so much! glad you had fun :)
Short but sweet. I liked the hybrid turn-based/real-time mechanics; in the
thirdfourth level, I was able to prevent the fires from overtaking me by waiting for the moving blocks to get in the way. Has potential, keep going! Thanks! Yea i thought it had potential to be a cool combo. Thanks, ill be making a post-jam version for sure
Executed very nicely, though I had to go through it twice to make sure it was all:/
There are many more mechanics that You could use to expand on. Opposite to others I would advice to keep it simple: like powerup to get into the fire after changing a switch, extinguishing fire, or a tiles that burn twice as slowly. But You probably have many own ideas, the game is ready to expand on.
Good job.
Thanks, yea unfortunately it's very short. Those all sound like good ideas, yea I have a fair bit I didnt get to impliment but I will after the jam
Really Really cool idea! Wish there was more levels to play because i was really getting into it but a very interesting puzzle mechanic. I feel like you could really expand the game. Maybe having different types of fires and needing to overlap fires to make new colors the trigger different events. Having a like power-up where you become fire and can move around freely over previous spaces. Feel like you could do a lot!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it, yea theres a lot I'm going to add to the post-jam version. Love the overlapping fires idea :)
