Amazing game! The power design is very interesting! Just can't remember the every icon and power but it's not a big problem.
Amazing game. Only thing that prevents me finishing the game was that bug :'(. But the graphisc were gorgeous, the audio was very polished as well and the amount of different powers and rooms is fascinationg, considering this was a 2-day game jam.
Awesome visuals! Awesome music! Strong Megaman vibes, I feel like you're really pushing Pico 8's capabilities here. I did have some trouble specially at the beginning identifying enemies and hazards, like the spikes and the jumping screw, maybe a different color would make them stand out a bit. Really great job!

Even though we both submitted a PICO-8 game, it is obvious that you have much more skills than me at using it! The game is beautiful and the swap mechanics is a nice incentive to play every power-ups. I can't imagine all the time spent in the level design to make it work with all the movement powers!
Hey! Musician/level designer here. Glad to know you noticed it, your comment made my day! :D Actually I was meant to only make the music for the game, but we where running out of time and I ended up making all level design in the last few hours. It was my first time doing level design, so it was really stressful to make it so fast!
I love the art for this game so much. And that water reflection animation is simply gorgeous.
And that soundtrack! I'm in love with those pitch bends!
In terms of gameplay, pretty fun. Although I do wish there were more checkpoints.

About the checkpoint.. Yeah, I misplaced the last one so it wasn't working. :( Too bad, if you die in the last screen, the game sends you back to the toughest section. I only noticed it after the voting phase started. We already fixed it for a post jam version, but it seems to bother a lot of people here (and with good reason).

I love the art, it looks really good. It's also very fun to play. The overall style of this game is very impressive with how it all works together.
I love the cohesive theme and the way this game plays, it's like a mini metroidvania.
This game is gorgeous. PICO-8 games often are. I especially like the background, very pretty.
Gameplay wise I would suggest not using X and Z for controls because for some players (myself included) they are not next to each other on the keyboard (for my layout Z and Y are swapped, so my Z is next to T).
But I was able to play around that hurdle and still have my fun with your game.
Really nice looking and cool music. It's a bit hard, but then notice afterwards the warning :D
First of all, 5 stars on everything. The mood of this game is fucking amazing. Everything play's perfect and the mechanics variation keeps the experience fresh from start to finish. Love your game, congrats!
This was really fun. I dig the music and I thought there was a really solid variety of game mechanics. Even though I didn't always have the ideal weapon - the weapons still worked - which was nice. I'd love to play a larger, fleshed out version. Congrats on submitting and thanks again for the play/review. :)
Glad you liked it! Pro tip: If you like one the weapons more than others, you can skip the other pickups, so you stay with your favorite weapon. ;) Though you have to stick with the first weapon until you take the one you like. If you like speed running, I recommend taking spike imunity, then jet pack. :)
The game was fun, but I sometime got stuck without a double-jump / float bonus in some areas that obviously need these features.
Thanks for the feedback! All 6 forms have a platforming ability: Elec has double jump, Bomb is immune to spikes, Jet can dash in 8 directions, Boomerang jumps high, Magnet can stick to walls and wall jump and Laser has infinite flight.
I just checked, finished the game once with each ability, just to be sure...
Other than that, maybe you died and lost the abilities... That is a bug, it's mentioned in the game page... I fixed it just after the jam locked entries :(

How did you do the water in the background? Looks gorgeous

For the water, effect first I pick a bunch of random points on the water area, and copy the color on the opposite side (same X coordinate), with twice the height (Y coodinate). Indicated by the red lines.
Then instead of drawing points, I draw a line that keeps growing and shinking like a sine wave (green). Something like "width=sin(time)*5".
After that i'ts just making them move horizontally to make it less static and make the "closer" waves wider than the "further" ones to give a little sense of depth.
