This is a really neat idea that fits the theme really well. It feels like the game has a lot of depth even though it was put together in such a short time. I did a few runs and each one felt very different, even with the limited input.
As some others said, the game can end pretty abruptly and sometimes it's not clear what input you are having. But the overall vibe of the game is great!
P.S. I wish I had the skill to include some fan art for you! Thanks for the game!

Thank you very much for the feedback, I appreciate it! As you probably know from reading some others' comments, those two things are getting fixed in the post-jam update, and are entirely my fault that they're the way they are in the jam build, so apologies. I'm glad that you liked the atmosphere, though, and I appreciate you trying out my game! :D
(Also, no worries about the fan art - I just do bad fan art for others 'cause it makes folks happy. :P)
Interface was clean and well suited to the game. Enjoyed the little personalization touches. Had a hard time telling if I was playing it right. Also had one instance where the screen went to black before I could even click a button or read the first observation, not quite sure what triggered that.
Overall enjoyed but might need a little bit more of a feed back look and a tutorial before release outside of a jam.
Thank you for giving the game a shot, I appreciate it! The screen going to black on the first observation is both a glitch (game over sequence not working as intended) and a balance issue (values for ship parts and crew state can start too low) which is going to be rectified in the post-jam build, as well as adding better user feedback (among other changes)!
Wow, that was quite an experience!
I loved the ambience & atmosphere in this particular game and I especially liked how the screen fades to pitch black without anything on it when the game is over -- it gave me some sort of a dissonance / uncannyness and adds more to the hopeless, damned theme.
The only thing I'd like to see in this game though, is more contents. I'd like to see more of this space-survival horror (quite literally) with a touch of micromanagement gameplay.
Very very cool game. Great atmosphere. I got scared that somehow the game knew my name, but somehow the captain's name was just Jaden lol. Nice work!
The atmosphere and dialogue were all unnerving and damn nice. I liked how things were genuinely out of control here. I don't really have any qualms other than the fact that it might take a replay or two before you fully understand things. Still, a great game overall :)
as many others have said, the atmosphere and aesthetics are amazing! i just wish there was a lil more depth, so i'll look forward to the post-jam release!
The eerie atmosphere of the game as others have mentioned is nice!
I definitely wish there was a bit more depth and feedback to the game. The theme is "Out of Control" but I wish there was still always some form of control within that "Out of Control" that the player could do to alleviate it somewhat. As for feedback I wish there was some indication to if the crew members heard you, didn't hear you, or ignored you.
If I misinterpreted any of the above feel free to correct me!
Thank you so much for giving the game a shot, I appreciate the feedback! I'm happy to hear you like the atmosphere!
Indication that the crew member received your command is getting implemented into the post-jam update. I wasn't able to figure out the best way to implement it before the jam deadline, totally on me.
The concept is very cool and fits the mood you built really well. I love the eerie music combined with the way information is presented on screens. I really wish you'd been able to finish it or do more because I'd love to play a more completed version of this!
The techno mumbo jumbo text dump and eerie music certainly set the mood straight away... felt like I was in a run-down spaceship from the movie Alien! I definitely felt that everything was out of my control. Must've taken quite some time to work out all those details, story, statistical paths! Kudos for a fantastic effort, buddy! :)
Oh this is my kind of stuff.
This is fantastic! Seriously! The amtosphere, the tone, the way the game puts you in this experiencie and the powerlessness you feel. You've really done something fantastic here.
The gripes -which are really small because i actually really liked this, seriously- are as follows.
The "send command" system is kind of weird, specially with the repeating commands, the "energy bar" and having missing commands too. It feels strange, because even if you are supposed to be out of control, seeing the engines go critical not being able to say anything is strange. Though it does add to the out-of-controlness so i'll not be too harsh with that, hahahah
Also the ending feels really abrupt. Specially with the music still going on, i stayed there for some seconds expecting something to happen.
Couldn't get to any other ending apart from dying, but man i did try, hahahaha.
Love small experiences like this. It actually surprised me completely considering your last project i tried (from the other gmtk) was all about mechanics and game feel- hah!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the detailed feedback! I'm glad you like the tone and feel of it!
As for your (completely valid) gripes, I ran out of time to make the command system work as I wanted it to. I tried for a while to make it so there would be no repeating commands, giving you a broader range of actions, but I was so brain fried and close to the deadline by that point that I just had to leave it as is. And I was going to also add events of the crew member fixing things up (to the best of their ability), but again ran out of time before I could do that. All entirely on me for poor planning, and not typing fast enough. :P
As for the ending, I admit that was a very broken and last-minute addition. The screen fades way faster than I expected, the music was supposed to fade out, and there was supposed to at least be text coming up that said "Connection Lost". That'd definitely be a post-jam-fix dealio, and I'm sorry for the state it's in now.
But I genuinely really love trying to establish atmosphere and tell stories, even if that wasn't at all what I did last year. So I'm glad you liked the game, and thank you for trying it! :D
Wow, big work on the atmosphere, the music fits the game perfectly. The interpretation of the theme is really interesting and original. Well done :)
A really nice experience, however I lost upon first starting it up because I spent so much time reading all the information on screen. Second time around it went better. I don't know if I didn't get far enough in the game of if you left everything super vague on purpose, but it worked! You created a really nice and moody game!
awesome mood to it, it's creepy like reading a horror story but with the addition of having to take action and make decisions. Facing cosmic horror!
Absolutely incredible mood with all the graphics and ambience :)
The absence of control makes it quite a different experience from other games - it really delivers a feel though, watching the world progress while having no control over it. Nice work!
