I really liked the concept and graphics on this one! Only having to select once to put down a bunch of plants would be great though :).

Funny idea! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I finally was able to play your game, I'm glad I remembered to!

This concept is so cool! It's a fresh idea to the tower defense genre that feels super cool! The user interface is pretty rough though... each time I click a plant is moves away from my cursor and takes up time. This is compounded by having to click every time I want to plant something, as opposed to clicking once and planting multiple times.

The game is too easy and doesn't offer much more after the first few nights (tangleweed op). All in all, I really enjoyed this though! Def. made it to my top 10 of the jam. I'd love to see more. <3

This was really cute! I found it a bit easy (one of my first strategies was to just back myself into a corner and close myself in with bushes, and that never failed), but it would be cool to see what you could expand on if you choose to do so! The SFX and artwork really made me smile.

How does this not have more ratings! Weirdly, I have played like 5 "care for sheep" (why did "out of control" cause everyone to think of sheep???) games during this jam; this is the best and most inventive. The pixel art is perfect; I love it. Love the whole idea and would love to play a revisit.

Thanks so much! Yeah haha we were really surprised to see so many sheep-related games. We'd really appreciate you sharing it to get more ratings :) we've been rating games all week and sharing the game on social media but it doesn't seem to be doing super well! Which is a shame because we absolutely adore all the feedback and constructive critism we've gotten, it's been super helpful!

Pretty good game, but there are a fair number of bugs. For starters, as i've already replied to another's comment; Occasionally, plants become invisible at random and will lose all of their effects in the process (So vines no longer slow the wolf down), but you still cannot plant over them, and when hovering over, they still have a trash can symbol; https://prnt.sc/tk2ila

As you may have also noticed during the first pic, you also have plantable tiles growing at random places - even outside the map - and can also plant on them; https://prnt.sc/tk2i9j

On top of all that, right clicking unplantable tiles lets you plant on them .-. https://prnt.sc/tk2n4h

Still, pretty good game! 5/5 on all parts and i can't wait for it to be refined etc in a post jam version :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for pointing out these bugs especially with the screenshots. Now we can see examples of where they're occuring so they should be pretty simple to fix post jam!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

ofc! :D Oh also it seems i forgot to mention that if you delete one of the glitched plants, all plants within it's proximity glitch out .-.

This game is very cool! I enjoyed it, it's a really clever concept, but the thing i liked the most is the fantastic pixel art! good job! rated! please check out my game too :D

Great art and sound (the animal 'voices' remind me of the game Ultimate Chicken Horse).

Very cool take on the theme! I loved the strategy element of the game, which was a bit like reverse tower defense - you started from the inner most levels of the tower with all the defenses, in some sense. However, I did notice that once I had built a couple of obstacles at a certain distance and which forced you to walk next to a vine tile every single time it turned night, the game was easy to beat because the werewolf could never make it in time to the gate. It was still fun trying the combos though. I would suggest that the plants would wither away after certain "uses" or the wolf gets cleverer (or stronger) as the game progresses so that nothing can hold him down for too long forcing you to re-strategize.  Anyhow, nice game!

You got me with the "werewolf-farmer" part. :D Very cool idea and the game is really enjoyable. Well done!

Submitted(+2)

pretty clever idea! I think there needs to be some time limit or lifespan on the plants, after i planted the one that slows you down I could just run to it every night and the wolf wouldn't get close. But really solid start that i could easily see being expanded upon in cool ways

Well.... Technically there is a lifespan. It's clearly a glitch, but sometimes the plants just disappear and lose all their effects but you can't plant over them, and if you delete them it glitches out all the plants in it's proximity; https://prnt.sc/tk2ila

Very very good entry! The concept is really fun and uniqueand the game is overall very well presented (i love the sheep sound :D) On the other hand the balance of the game needs some work: after placing a couple of  plants you can pretty much stand in one point and wait for the warewolf to fail and you're done.  Anyway for a 48h developement is still pretty good, hope you will expand the concept in the future, this has potential!

it is so cute !!!

Very charming style and presentation, this was a really fun game and great interpretation of the theme! Great work!

Thanks so much!! Glad you enjoyed it!

Great art style! We have similar ideas but yours definitely looks a lot better than mine in terms of art haha:) Have the sheep generate money in some ways (maybe collect their wool at day) and then expand the farm by buying new sheep + fences, then this could already be a great mobile game! Good job!

Nice job! The graphics were really cute (especially those sheep) and the gameplay was really fun. Well done! :D

Love the day/night cycle!  At one point some of my plants went away and I wasn't expecting it... and I ate all the sheep

baaaa

Submitted(+2)

What an original take! The day and night cycle, only losing control at night, the presentation is on point.

The only thing that was mildly frustrating, was that every time I wanted to plant something, I had to reclick on it. I had assumed that if I clicked on a hedge, I would be able to place as many hedges as I wanted.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I totally agree about reclicking to buy/plant stuff! That's the first quality of life feature I'd add next :)

I always appreciate a good werewolf game, and this is a good werewolf game. The art style is cute, and though you may not have made the audio, it was still used in a very funny way. Lost all but one sheep on the first night but after that was able to effectively keep myself at bay. Nice job! :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much Jordan!! Yeah, we made all our spot effects but I wish we'd been able to make our own bg music too :)
