I too miss Eugene.
Haven't seen a game like this before, I'm really glad I played it. Though I was really bad at it XP

Looks and feels awesome,
really nice polish

it was also easy to hit the right block and even if some parts are a bit hard, they are nicely done.

however, after a hard part should be some kind of checkpoint,
its really annoying to see him fall agian after finally making it though a part of the level.

also he once fell down multiple parts, which made me quit the game.
but beside that, great work

Damn!! this game is difficult, It killed a few brain cells in the process. Definitely a great concept and well executed. I would love to see some one speed run this game.

The idea is really good, but this felt really, really difficult. I don't think I would have minded the difficulty so much if there was some way to keep from going back super far, like being able to put a block on the ground to stop the guy as well as showing him where to jump. Lot of potential here though, and if it were a little bit more accessible, I could see myself playing a game like this for a long time.

Thanks for playing!  We are working on a build for after the jam ends with some bug fixes and quality of life changes. Part of that is adding that very mechanic that let's you create your own checkpoints with your own block.

Super hard but I love it!

Great presentation and super difficult! Good job.

Ok this reminds me of a game with a bald guy in a tub with a hammer. Neat idea and great execution in line with the theme, but MAN I don't think I have the patience to get to the third floor lol.

A certain Mr. Foddy was definitely in our mind while developing the game. We wanted players to be able to easily crush parts which earlier gave them a ton of trouble- as the developers (and sole playtesters) who played it a ton, we may have overestimated how "easy" it was to complete even the first stair section. With hindsight, we'd definitely add a more forgiving tutorial section. Thanks for playing!

It's a pretty good concept and the amount of time it takes to beat can easily be in pair with a game with a price-tag these days. :) Good idea accompanied by great visual style. Well done.

Nice concept, but ot be honest, I didn't bothered to continue at the big staircase at the left side.

EDIT: I just saw some of the stuff in the GIF's of the main page and I'm sure this is beatable, but I'm sorry, having to play and rate over 5000 games in one week, there isn't just the time. I hate to be negative, but especially losing progress and having to replay some parts of the level again is what kills it for me.

Thanks for playing! This was the designed gameplay loop. We wanted players to feel like they could do parts of the level better and faster each time they redid it. We've gotten a lot of feedback and realized we likely ramped up this challenge too quickly/early.

We understand it can be frustrating which is why we had Eugene provide little bits of dialogue when progress was lost. Totally understand getting stuck after playing for a few minutes and not wanting to go any further, especially when trying to only play a little bit of each game. 5k games is a lot of games to get through! I am sure you are not the first to get so frustrated so early, and again, thank you for playing and thanks for the feedback.

This game was definitely a challenge. I liked the idea of (literally) a second person platformer. The simple aesthetic worked well and the controls were responsive. Good job!

I LOVE THIS GAME. But I cannot figure out how to get into the exit. I even did the last part with the inverting gravity on the single squares, but when I inverted on the last square that's higher eugene missed the exit. Is there a trick to it that I am missing?

There is a mechanic which admittedly isn't well advertised, but it helps if you wait until the last second to turn the block "on". That lets you send Eugene just a *little* bit further than if he lands on the block that has already been "activated". Thanks for playing! Best we can tell, you've made it the farthest of our players! We promise that it is beatable.

Damn this game is hard.

I couldn’t get past the first big ramp on the left but my brother got much higher and reached to third floor i think.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing, Felipe!

Your brother did a great job! I bet if you keep trying you can make it further than him =)

I love the concept, it's a bit hard though. Could use more checkpoints

Thanks for playing Foonguz. We are working on a build for after the jam ends with some bug fixes and quality of life changes. We are adding a mechanic that let's you create your own checkpoints with your own block you can shoot into the world.

I think the uncontrollable person is a bit too fast, I struggled a lot to climb the path. Anyways, great concept, even though I've seen similar entries.

Loved it! Loved the presentation and the challenges! Do you plan on expanding the game?

Cool idea, but a bit too difficult for me! Liked the art, with a slower difficulty curve this could be a really awesome game!

I hate you. I hate you and your STUPID GAME. This is legitimately one of the hardest things I've ever played and I want to kill myself. 9/10, not enough of the game making fun of me.

All jokes aside though this game is beyond addicting. Fun and painful as hell.

Looks really fun! If after the jam you can upload a web (or mac) build i'll definitely play.

This game is a good example of using just one clever mechanic to create a challenging gameplay. On the other hand I think that the first part of the level could be a bit easier (it took me a few minutes to get through). The game was really fun to play.
