Love the screenshake! This is fun, the basic mechanics are easy to understand but it definitely gets challenging over time. Awesome work.
Very good animations, the levels could use something more to them like traps or enemies, something to watch out for instead of just trying to stay close to the buttons, the shaking animation when you spent too much time away from buttons is really good aswell, it gives a sense of urgency.
Solid platforming controls, and I like the audio being distorted as the camera goes out of control. I think this game made use of its mechanics well.
Awesome concept with a simple and understandable game loop, the controls threw me off a little as i'm used to WASD but thats fine! I really like the shaking as a way to tell me to hurry up but a bar to tell me how close I am might be nice too! Overall awesome stuff and good job!
I was thinking of adding a slider and spikes, maybe 10 levels too but we all ran out of time hahahah
Very nice game and definitely sets a mood of being out of control. Maybe add a slider that slowly empties to put more pressure on the player? I realise the screen-shake achieves this as well, but that doesn't give immediate feedback.
Thank you! I agree, maybe a slider could be a good addition to this
The game really has an awesome mood to it! Feels great to play this :)
Thanks so much!
I love the gameplay and concept! The controls are very fast and responsive. The soundtrack is great too! I didn't fully realize what the buttons were doing at first, as nothing was happening, but when the screen was starting to shake, I realized that the buttons would stop that. It makes the gameplay similar to a puzzle where I would have to plan out my moves.
My only negative would be the control scheme. I was very stuck and confused at first because I was trying to use WASD to move. It took some experimenting to learn that I was meant to use ESDF.
it says how to play in the start menu
Hey! Soundtrack dude here. Thank you thank you thank you! As for the controls, I was also confused as to why the EDSF, but then I was sold on the idea that it has greater accessibility for AZERTY keyboards
I really dig how much energy the character's animations have, especially with how fun the music is and how snappy the character is to control, it feels like a really clean package.
The camera mechanic is a fun little idea, and even if I'm not entirely clear on what the safe zones actually are, the balance of tension in performing tricky platforming bits between forced rest zones is nicely executed.
I always try to make my games a clean, complete package. Even if I sometimes drop features I originally wanted
Thank you so much! I did the soundtrack, really glad you enjoyed it :)
Solid execution! Gameplay made sense and felt responsive. Loved the music and lil' guy.
Thank you so much!
I like the concept behind this game, running between the safe spots before time runs out make for a good game feel. While the art is pretty good, I think you may have gone bit overboard with the camera shake effect.
(also, why the esdf controls?)
(ah, I see that esdf was to help with other keyboard layouts; that's certainly understandable)
Yeah, exactly! After I got to know why, I was sold on it
Great work on getting the controls to feel good. I also love the animation on the character. Top notch work!
aww you just made my day
Thank you so much man!
Nice game. Lost some time in it :D. I like the thrill
Thank you :)
Overall its a strong idea - Camera mechanic is simple, but solid. ESDF is interesting, through i understand the want to support different key layouts like AZERTY
Fun. The camera idea is pretty simple but rest of the game(art, sound and level design) is good enough to make it well worth playing.
Sound person here, thank you so much for the feedback! :)
Cool game! The character animation's were awesome, so at the start all i did for a minute was run around. It is a bit weird to use ESDF instead of WASD, but not too bad, and it's good that you clearly showed it in game.
All together a fun game
Thank you so much, man! Sound person here. I agree, it is a bit weird, but when Lafie-Safie told me how WASD doesn't work on AZERTY keyboards, I was sold on the new idea.
Really glad you enjoyed my animations! that makes me really happy!
That was fun! I enjoyed the character design and also jumping really high at the end room!
Really glad you enjoyed it, mate :)
Really cool concept, good level design, but controling using esdf is quite weird, but i appreacite it cuz my keyboards "W" is broken
I'm making all my games in EDSF for accessibility
you could add a option to change between wsad and esdf,
It was originally gonna be called "Crackhead Camera" but I figured that itch would pull it or set it in the NSFW category. The Camera is still a Crackhead though
Oh my god we made it by a hair
