This was pretty good! It's a nice way to check how good you are with a keyboard, haha.

Good amount of juice, perfectly straightforward, and the stress when you get overwhelmed is quite a bunch.

Got always killed in the symbols wave onwards as it just didn't want to register a few symbols, sadly!

I'd add that the ships should speed up a for a little bit when you fail, just to stress me out more, haha.

keep it up!

Developer

Yeah the symbols don't register right in the web build. I didn't play test the web build properly because I assumed nothing would break but I was wrong. Glad you still enjoyed it though!

Nice game here! Keep it up!

A really fun game I wish that you would have ramped up the difficulty a little bit faster, because the game is the most fun when it is stressful. Another thing that could have been cool is that overlapping letters swap layers so that one is in the front once, and then the other, otherwise it is sometimes hard to see which letter is needed. A really neat entry though!

I love when game jam entries put effort into game feel. Really shows here.

Really original idea ! The game is not easy at all even using only alpha-numeric characters as there is a lot of enemis. That's a great take on the typing game genre and it fully stick to the theme. There is sadly a limitation in term of gameplay, the player can just roll his head on the keyboard and win every round. This could be fixed with malus if the player types a wrong key. Great job ! I thing you got something here !

Enjoyed that! Was building up a massive combo and then I though I saw an a but it was a q ... >:( Sad times! Had a few issues with symbols same as other people but apart from that, was good. I liked the slight lighting effects too, adding a nice bit of visual feedback.

Really fun, and work quite well, could be a full fledged concept with some add !

Great game! Very original. Also served as a harsh reminder that my blind typing skills outside of letters are severely lacking.

Developer

Even after making and play testing this game my symbol touch typing is horrendous.

I love the sound design! Overall a great game

Very original ! but I don't see the ONLY ONE in  your game :D

Overall Great game !!

Developer

Every enemy is only one character long. Typing games usually have words you have to type.

Submitted

Oh ! Now that you mention it ,it look very obvious .. I feel that I am stupid XD

The game was fun and decently challenging and i really like the visuals and sound design. Great job!

I didn't know I was this bad at typing and I am a programmer... Well done and nice art!

Great visuals, always love typing games. This is top 3 of games I have played so far! Made it to the symbols wave feeling like a pro... then got smacked down like a chump. Great entry, bookmarking for later!

I really liked it. So far my favourite game. The sound of the ships exploding is kinda satisfying lol

Developer

Not gonna lie, I probably spend more time on making the game look and feel really nice than on the actual gameplay part. Glad you enjoyed the game!

So great, I love keyboard/typing games!  I had some trouble with the game not recognizing some of the symbols (I'm on a macbook with an apple wireless keyboard), but other than that the game played great, and the difficulty ramp was nice and satisfying.  great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! When I initially came up with the concept I was hesitant to include symbols due to keyboards being different but I felt the game was too easy without them. Seems like they're causing a variety of issues though, especially in the web version. Glad you still like the game despite the bugs!

I just love playing this game! Simple and well executed idea. With a little bit more of juice it would be perfect. If you decide to keep working on it though, be really careful with the symbols, there are so many different keyboards between qwerty/azerty and windows/mac. I lost because I got a symbol I have absolutely no idea how to type on mine.

Developer

Thanks for playing! The symbols were definitely not considerate for different keyboard layouts (not to mention some of them straight up don't work in the web version). I felt the game was too easy without them though. Maybe I should've only used ! to ). Glad you enjoyed playing my game though!

Amazing atmosphere, love the lighting and sound. You could create more levels and its a great way to learn to type!

Developer

Thanks for playing! At this point I might just build a normal word-typing game off this game.

I really enjoy the atmosphere of your game. The lighting, music, and sound effects all blend together into a nicely polished experience. I also really enjoyed the difficulty when the symbols appeared.

A long time ago I played a very similar game in my PALM PILOT to learn how to write in it. This game has the same design and this is not a bad idea. I think you need only work in HOW letter appears. Too many things to see, you cannot concentrate to write. Good game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Do you think the letters would be more legible if I put a black border around them? I think visibility is only especially bad when letters start stacking on top of enemies.

Submitted

I think its ok the border, but "my problem  is more with speed, quantity and velocity than a "design problem". :D

THIS IS SO COOOOL!
