This one is incredible! Very polished, great concept and perfectly done.

It was sometimes challenging to find all the people to step on. They helpfully do little speech boxes when you first come across them, but if they escape that initial contact it can be tough to find them. In fact, I usually ended up stepping on them accidentally while wandering around trying to step on them purposefully.

The narration is amazing! Though sometimes overwhelmed by the sound of a lot of things smashing.

The destruction is very satisfying and I like that the goal is simply to do things efficiently (if the player wants) rather than dealing with enemies who can fight back. Sometimes being a giant, unstoppable force of smashin' is all you want. :)

The first thing I did, after waking up from a 300 year nap was to jump into the water. Which gave the narration "The ogre ate recently, it shouldn't swim."

But there are at least two other messages about falling into the water which is a surprising dedication to something easily avoidable.

Developer(+1)

Ha ha! I love the dedication of falling in the water multiple times just to see. : )  Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I just smashed thoose stars to you!

Great design, animations, game meghanics, sounds...
The choice of the music was a bit werid to me but the quality was also good.

Good work!

Come and smash my game and rate too.
Have FUN :3

Developer

Thanks! The game is a redesign and reimagining of an old flash game I made in 2011 (Peeple Smashin'). I wanted to stay faithful to the music as that was one of the best parts of the original game. So all the music in this is chiptune with a very similar vibe.

Have a look to my little game :).

This was fantastic! Something about destroying things makes me wanna play more. I loved it!

Kinda feel bad for the town people. And yes, you should not go for a swim after a meal. I guess the only feedback I have is that maybe the ogre should reappear on the town it finished rather than at the very beginning. Nice entry.

Great fun. Been eagerly waiting for Donkey Kong Bananza but this will do for now.

enjoyed destroying people and had alot of fun playing it, Thanks for making a great game like this.

This was super cool! Loved the dialogue and all of the destruction. Minor QoL improvements would easily turn this from a game jam game into a full steam level submission. Excellent work!

Developer(+1)

Dang! That's high praise! Thank you!

Very nice and polished game!

It feels good smashing everything around 馃槇

Anyway, somehow, I would have liked a UI system showing me where the last person is… I found mysel sometimes wondering where he is hidding in the middle of the rumbles.

Also, starting at the very begining of the mini-map every times feels a bit confusing.

But here is the fact: it鈥檚 an impressive work for a game jam! I guess I鈥檒l have another run.

As other mentioned, the voiceover is a really nice bonus! Are those acting voices or AI generated? I can鈥檛 tell for sure…

Developer(+1)

Thanks! And I agree with both pain points and both are things we just simply didn't have time to address unfortunately.

Also they're all AI generated voice lines from Eleven Labs. We originally wanted to post on the discord looking for a voice actor but it was pretty late when we decided to add them in (Sunday afternoon lol) so we didn't think we'd be able to find anyone in time.

Amazing!  Fully formed game.  Very satisfying destruction.  I really like the level selection method - starting from the beginning each time was a little time consuming, I'd prefer to start from the level I just completed, but I imagine you didn't do that because the levels could be completed in an order.  Great voice acting too.  I liked how there were comments while playing, but I couldn't quite hear the voice over the sound of the destruction (at default volume levels).  What would you add if you had more time?

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks! Yeah, I was kicking myself for not adding a more proper audio system by the time we added the voice acting last minute because I didn't have an easy way to reduce the music or sfx volume when the voice acting started.

If we had more time I think we probably just would have polished a bit more and maybe added more levels and more interesting mechanics. I considered explosives and some spreading fire. Also last minute we added a performance fix to turn off the destruction after a set time and If we'd figured that out earlier we would have done an open world instead of levels as that was the original plan with a simple quest system.

Thanks for playing!

Wow very nice. It was just so satisfying to just smash everything LOL

Ha ha! Thank you!

Awesome game, that was so much fun!

Developer

Much appreciated!

The level of detail put into this in a 10 day period is crazy. The Stanley  parable inspired choice system is just nuts. Bravo.

Very good game, it is simply and very fun, my congrats to you guys

Comically grim, but a very nice game!  Extremely polished, I actually forgot that I was playing a jam game for a while and then stopped and said "Wait, someone made this in a week?!"  I have no idea how I'd make something like this, hats off to you!

Developer

Ha ha! Thanks! It was a lot of crunch!

This game is superb, you guys did a great job, the narration was hilarious and epic. The narration reminded me a bit of legacy of kain but funny. I had a real LoL moment at the end of the game. I hope that one day I can make a game this good. My only gripe with the game was that after finishing a level I start back at the bottom of the hill and I didn't find the level select button until after I had finished the last level.

Developer(+1)

Yeah. That was at the top of the list to fix right before submission but we ran out of time. : (  I might upload a version with that quality of life fix just for future players.

Submitted(+1)

all in all it was a minor inconvenience in what was a really fun experience.

I felt really bad having fun with this game. Great work!

Developer

I get it. I felt really bad having fun making it.

Man, this looks fun from the screenshots, unfortunately  I don't have a windows machine to play it!

Developer

Yeahh.... I have a Macbook I used to use to package Mac builds, but now it's used for display purposes only... when it heats up... the battery swells. O.O

One day I'd like to be able to package for Mac and Linux again. It's so much hassle though as a Windows user in Unreal Engine. :/

Fun game. Loved the voiceover. Very nice touch. The screams were disturbing. I had to kill the game to exit it.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Oh really?? There's definitely a pause menu if you hit Escape. No idea why that wouldn't work on your end. I 100% tested it before submission and it worked just fine.

Edit: Oh. And thank you for playing! I appreciate the kind words! <3
