The art style really stood out and gave it a unique feel. I liked the relaxing pace and the odd little creatures. It did take me a while to figure out what to do, but once I got going it was enjoyable. Maybe a few more hints early on. Overall, a charming little game. Well done

Beautiful simple little game which captures the spirit of capturing bugs as a kid. Looking forward to seeing where this goes after the jam

Wow the art style is wonderful! Combined with the music and gameplay it was a relaxing game that reminds me of looking for bugs as a kid haha. The characters are wonderfully odd as well.

This is really good looking game. I love the art style! Also nice music and sounds and writing. Congrats!

Fun little collection game. Loved it!

Looks really cool!

Interesting concept! The controls were a little difficult to understand at first and the fact we could only move one rock at time was a little tedious. I think some tweaks could make this a fun and chill game!

Beautiful graphics but I struggled with the mechanics. It took me ages to figure out what I was supposed to do until the frog popped up. Also I found it very difficult to catch the critters once I uncovered them. Its got great potential but perhaps some nudges to make it easier for slowpokes like me? :-)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and giving valuable feedback!  One thing I was thinking of was requiring a mouse hover over the critters instead of a click.  I wanted to have that as an unlockable further in the game, but maybe as an option at the beginning would make it less painful. Btw, I watched some of your videos last week while getting a feel for the game jam.  Thanks again!

Cool idea.

I'm having trouble showing the game UI to scale properly on my very long screen when it uses full screen by default.  Perhaps consider setting  the game to show in a resizable window.

Developer

Thanks for checking out my game.  Yep.  I wasn't able to get to adding window resolution and options within the time limit.  I'll add that once the rating period is over.  Thanks for putting up with the awkward situation.

just want to share this info with ya~

Developer

Perfect.  Thanks for doing that.  I'd love to implement that now, but I imagine it would be considered "adding a feature".  This is my first game jam and I'm not quite sure what is allowed during this period.  I guess I will play it safe and add it after the rating period.  Thanks again!

i would consider it as bug fix since i can't see the UI on the edge of the screen...
but in any case, you can just have to build, and name them accordingly.
one with suffix of (Jam Build) ,  and one with suffix with (Bug fix).
then its up to the judge to decide which one he use it to evaluate.

Developer

I took your advice and uploaded a Bug Fix version.  Thanks for taking the time to help me with this!

An interesting game. The aesthetics and music are great. I think I'd make the rock automatically return to its original place after being moved to save the player that click.

I liked it, it was interesting! Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to download it and try it.  I originally wanted to have the rocks return to the original position too, but I had trouble determining the best timing.  Now that I have less time pressure, I'll put some extra thought into it.  Thanks again for the feedback!

I won't rate this game until I play it on stream, but its definitely on my list to play in the next stream.
I'll let you know when that's done.

Developer(+1)

That's awesome.  Thanks!

Thanks Marcus.  I really appreciate you doing that!

This game is so fun, and I love the art style! The animals are hilarious, and the game is very relaxing. It would have been nice if the bugs had animations, but the rest is very well done :) 👍

Love the art style, one that you get into the more time you play it.

I love the artistic choices you made in creating this game. I like the approach of no tutorial, making the player discover as they play. It might seem a little slow at first but after the first upgrade it does pick up speed. The collection aspect is a nice touch!

The art style is splendid. I highly recommend people download this and give it a try!

My recommendation would be to attempt a WebGL build so more players will get to play the game. It does require some sacrifices regarding performance but I'm sure you can do it!

Very well done!

Thanks for your feedback!  This is my first game jam and my first time using Itch.io  I actually had no idea that games could be played in browser.  I will definitely look into that because, yeah, it is so convenient to just jump into a game in the browser.  This game was made with Unreal 5.5.  I don't believe it has the capability to do WebGL builds.  Thanks again!
