Excellent design! Very unique concept; I didn't know what to expect at first but the gentle introduction / tutorial guided me. Great atmosphere too - the audio and SFX complement the almost eerie graphics and dynamic morphing backgrounds. Really good.
I got stuck on the level "you must take it with you" but I'm sure there is a way to solve the puzzle that I just haven't discovered yet (I did carry the crate to the 2nd planet, but got marooned thereafter). Great balance between aesthetics and challenging puzzle-solving gameplay mechanics.
I like the space man.
I also liked the last stage where you need to get a boost.
Nice game. Will you carry on with the project?
Thanks! I definitely designed the game in a way where it's easily extensible, but I don't think I have any plans right now to take it further. I've got that classic problem where my brain is full of too many ideas, and I want to make them all! But one day, when the well runs dry, I'll have all these stub games to come back to, and I can pick the best to really flush out :D
I really liked, the ambient music, the space with that sparkle stars, very good, just two bugs the arms legs scale with no control in time (lucky the boxes have sorting order correct jaja) and happens to me to first out of space it rolls to the end direct, really good game congratulations!!!
It is funny, but on first play i just pressed space with zoom in and get to the win screen without realizing what i had done. ALso, on second playthrough, my leg started growing until it filled the screen in the level carrying boxes: How are you doing the zoom mechanic?
I love it when a bug can bring joy to a game, so I might just start calling the growing limbs thing a feature :D
The zooming was pretty simple in Godot, I used a Camera2D that follows the player around, and whenever you move the mouse wheel it just adjusts the "zoom" property of the camera. Then I just made the backgrounds huge, so whenever you zoom all the way out, you still can't see behind the scenes :)
I loved all the little polishes in this game, how the stars appear/and disappear only when you jump, the sound design perfectly sets the atmosphere and even the little rotating eyes during the title screen. Amazing mood setters all of them, congratulations!
Had an interesting experience as a previous commenter with the space man's arm growing larger and filling out the entire screen before disappearing, was kind of funny. Overall I found this a very unique game with some interesting game play, very well done!
Great game! And funny after some playing the space mans arm did this:
