Great mechanics and very good feel about platforming. Loved the art style and the dialogues. Great game, great FUN!

Wow, there was totally no need for the apology at the end, about lack of content, because I think this was one of the more polished and long games, I've been playing all evening in my stream and this one was amazing! It looks nice, has a good story, well worked out mechanics and levels. Basically everything just clicks!
I liked the grapple mechanics, but huge skill issue on my side. I did manage to get over to the other side, but unfortunately couldn't figure out how to go up from there in the short time I was able to play so far. I definitely have to come back for more playtime.
I'm glad I found this one before the end of the jam!
Really fun writing and a great mechanic.
I found the physics of the rope swinging a bit wonky at times. The generous checkpoints made up for any troubles I had, however. I'm also rather bad with grappling hook mechanics in games generally, so take what I say with a grain or two of salt.
The music and the ever optimistic worm kept things fun and lighthearted no matter how many times I fell into a pit.
Oh My GOD !! I can't believe I almost forgot to play this gem. This game is an absolute blast !! I wish there were more levels though. I love the atmosphere, the little characters, puzzles, mechanics and the PHYSICS. I really can't express how satisfying it was to swing from Point A to Point B. Also for some reason, it felt like a Godot game rather than a Unity game XD.
My only complaint is that the music and sound are set to minimum by default. But besides that, this game deserves my highest rating so far.
Also about Physics, did you use Unity's in built Physics (PhysX) or did you implement your own custom version for swinging?
I am so very happy you enjoyed the game so much! Ye. I wanted to make more music for the game but I ran out of time :(
It is my own rope simulation script. I used distance joint to check where the anchor is against the neighboring anchor. And then apply forces : player Input * swingspeed and then I use a sin wave to get the shape of the rope and all the ropes joints forces depending how far it is from the player. The further it's away the less force is applied.
It's much easier if you look at it physically xD hope this answers your question.
Hard to explain.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Regarding music, I was talking about the music and sound volume slider set to minimum as defaults. Didn't notice the slider in my first run and thought there was no music at wall.
Regarding physics, looks like I was right. Didn't understand your implementation completely but I get the idea. Great work!
A very solid mix of an interesting physics puzzle core with quite a bit of content for a jam and even a story to follow with dialogue with extra art and voices. Great job!
Oh this is just delightful! Love the vibes, the physics are fun to play around with, the music and sound effects are VERY fitting, it's just an all around good time! Bravo!
This game is amazing! I'm really looking forward to seeing more levels. Man, I can't explain how much I enjoyed the game the movement, the grappling hook, everything was incredible. Personally, I might have chosen a different map, perhaps something more ground-based, but the game is still an easy 9.9 out of 10 for me
Top tier! The mechanics and story are great. The grapple was a lot of fun and easy to use. I thought the difficulty level was good. It was on the easier side, but I would gladly keep playing more levels that got more difficult.
Super impressive! Being able to do this much alone in this short of time is crazy. Very Well done! I'd alos appreciate if you could rate my game aswell).
Impressive work, the voice is funny. it got the vibe of loco roco but the one that sold me is the swing mechanic
Wow! I love Mushihara Kawase! Very impressive overall, excellent level design and controls. I hope that you continue on with it or a similar project after the jam, it's a ton of fun and I'd like to see how crazy it can get. Thanks for sharing!
I am so very glad you enjoyed the game! :) interesting thing I learned that some people say it's super hard. And other people say it's a breeze. So that means I'm like dead center on difficulty. Either going to have to lean to hallow knight casual platforming or Celeste precision platforming :) thank you for the feedback
Saw you mention it here and also in the Gamedev Discord and wanted to give you my thoughts on the question of how difficult to make the game which you're facing right now. Since some people are saying it's too hard, and some saying it's too easy, you're probably close to the sweet spot of difficulty right now. (Of course, the game can naturally increase its difficulty a bit in each level as it continues and especially as you add new powerups and/or stage hazards).
You bring up Hollow Knight as an example of a casual platformer, and while this is true most of the time, it also has some incredibly difficult late-game optional areas, challenge arenas, and optional bosses. This is a classic platformer tactic. (A much older example would be Star World in Super Mario World.) Since having meaningful difficulty option settings can be difficult in any genre, but especially so in a platformer, having special challenge bonus levels and more difficult hidden levels/areas can allow you to keep the difficulty standard for the rest of the game and players who want a more casual playthrough, while allowing you to present real and optional challenges to players who crave a more hardcore challenge.
Of course, none of this is mandatory--just some suggestions! It's your game and it's your choice what to do with it, and I look forward to hopefully seeing more of it after the jam is finished.
Wow, incredible game. You could definitely keep developing this and release it on steam with some more levels. Really enjoyed it, well done. keep up the great work. The swing mechanics were spot on and the humour was great. Loved catapulting myself with the rotating disks. Brilliant
Absolutely love it. The visuals are combined into a cohesive and cute style, everything fits together really well and is fun to look at. Style of the mushroom world is really cool and the theme is well put together!
The mechanics are unbelievable, spiderman mushroom is really cool to pull off. Especially with dynamic attaching and detaching from the blocks. Really smooth and well done.
The NPCs and characters are funny, loaded with sounds and dialogue.
Love it, no faults to it 10/10
Great lil platformer, had a lot of fun :) only thing I wished for was more and harder levels!
Best Game i have played till now in this game jam. I have ended the game as well;). The hook mechanics are quite good and allow you to be creative in terms of hanging and moving back & forth. Nice touch added with mushrooms added as checkpoints, to restart from the last checkpoint, rather from the beginning of the game level. The dialogues are funny and due to challenging nature of game, allowing multiple attempts to complete a level, helps ease the pressure on the player. Overall i am delighted to have played this game.
