Btw, you have my permission to use my youtube of your game on your itch.io page if you like.
Fun game and good idea! With a bit of polishing here and there, it will become even better! Maybe it would be nice to familiarize the players with the mechanics in the start of the game, and then gradually make it more complex!
Thank you for playing! I've already got some ideas of how to utilize this mechanic in the future to build a game around it. I'll keep this in mind!
Came here because of Marcus. This reminds me a bit of a game I made some time ago, “Chilling Through Life.” But the mechanics in yours involve the camera too, which is much more creative than mine! It is only after I finished the game that I discovered you can speed up the camera lol, so maybe some in game instructions would be nice. Very nice submission!.
Ooh, I'll have to check that out! Thanks for the praise and the feedback!
Great fun! Super creative and cool puzzle/platformer! I wish I knew how many coins were hidden and how many I was able to find! I found the blue, yellow, red, and white ones!
A few things that I noticed while playing, meant to hopefully help you:
1) A few times I would see my feet at the top of the screen and at the bottom if the teleporting didn't work.
2) The puzzle designs felt finicky - maybe ease into it more? With the camera constantly moving, it just felt like I was battling the camera more than the puzzle, so maybe each section there is a puzzle, the camera is set to a constant location to make it simpler / easier instead of having to finesse the camera
3) No mention of sprinting which was needed in a few cases.
4) The first puzzle was awesome and clever- a cool way to introduce the mechanic. But then having to get on top of the roof of the house was a battle and not as fun nor as cool
5) The sfx did not really fit with the theme of the game - it was also very repetitive, so maybe adding variation in pitch for the sfx?
Overall this was a fantastic game - really well done and super fun to play and explore. I am super impressed with this game- good job!
Thank you for the feedback! I'll take it into consideration for next time (or potential bug fixes). There are five coins btw!
Almost got them all!
Really neat idea for a game. I had a great time trying to figure out how to progress as well as getting all the coins.
Glad you had fun!
I just had to make a stream about your game.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Thank you so much! Just left a comment!
No worries :)
Great idea. I tried this thanks to MarcusFromOz's recommendation. I like the mechanic that you have going, once I figured out that starting point. It still needs some polish for your mechanic to really feel great. I found myself fighting it to do what I think you have intended. I'm trying to be vague to not spoil anything for others. I think if polished, this could be AMAZING! Let me know if you keep working on it! :D
Thank you! I'm thinking about maybe expanding this idea into a full game in the future after hearing some of the feedback from friends and other jammers. So many plans...
If this is an original idea, then its a crime that more people have not played it.
Its clever enough to probably be the best game of the jam.
If its not your original idea, then its still a clever implementation.
I've ranked it very high.
I am going to ask others to play this.
Thank you very much! I did come up with this idea on my own, yes, and I'm actually quite proud of it! I don't know if it's an idea that's been done before, but if it has, I sure hadn't seen it. I'm so happy to hear you're sharing it, it's such an honor! Hope the people you show it to enjoy it!
Very creative, I was surprised when I figured out what was going on! Nice interpretation of the theme. Congrats!
Thank you!
I have to be honest, I really want to explore this game, I think the story is very interesting, but I need more information on what the controls are. I was stuck just outside the door of the house.
I don't want to rate it until I've had a chance to play it properly, so please add the info to the itch page.
Controls have been added!
