The story/theme is about plugging an old computer to the internet .. (what could possibly go wrong?) and getting a ton of viruses
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

You took hold of my dopamine receptors and didn't let go until I finished the last level! Super addicting and fun! I love they style of auto-clicker and tower defense. Wonderful game!
Really like the minimalist look to this, and the music fits really well. The intro was amusing. I liked that idea of being able to harvest money on the left and the upgrade system. One thing I found was I just clicked my mouse button and never let go, just dragging the cursor wherever needed. There was no need to lift as far as I could tell.
Its just amazing in every possible aspect! Incredible work in such short period of time, lookin forward to play the full version)
This is such a cute but brilliantly made game. This was done in one week?!
You have various enemy types, brilliant music, good animations and actual difficulty levels? Dang.
The only thing I would want is a way to know either where the enemy is coming from or what's the range of the ranged towers. It's a little confusing to know where to place them.
Excellent game. Good luck!
Yeah we had a busy week hehe ^_^ the game had literally no content (levels) a few hours before the deadline haha, it was a stressful night
Ah yeah maybe some arrows warning you from incoming waves (showing where they'll spawn), good idea!
And yeah range indicators for the towers, definitely ^_^ coming soon!
Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback <3
The first minute I didn't know it autoclicked on hold, oof lol. Great art and coherent story. Wish I could see what ranged towers are aiming at. At first I thought they had to be in the lane with the enemy Plants vs Zombies style.
I liked how you could shape the enemies path with your units and having lots of difficulties definitely helped, really good job overall!
Very fun and very polished! Loved the 1-bit sprite art and the cute/retro-computing aesthetics. The tutorial is also very well done, the player is told the basics in less than 30 seconds and then the difficulty nicely ramps up so they figure out the rest on their own. At least that's how it felt for me who isn't very familiar with autoclicker and tower defense games.
There really isn't much to criticize, but some minor nitpicks if you want:
- I feel like the main menu visuals clash with the rest of the game, I think keeping it black and white and conveying the difficulty in another way would feel more cohesive.
- audio-wise the liquid DnB works well with the internet/early-2000s vibe, but I think leaning more into the cat/cute vibe like you did in the intro and the main menu could also be nice. Some meow sfx here and there could be cool too
- on the main menu, right clicking adds a blue square to the background, that doesn't seem intentional
- custom animations for enemies instead of the squish and stretch would add some polish
Congrats on delivering such a complete and fun game in a week!
It's very kind to leave such a detailed review, thanks Tey! ^_^
I appreciate the nitpicks a lot, that's the most helpful feedback hehe :)
• Agree 100%. I also might have some rethinking to do to incite players to pick higher difficulties too, I feel like most players end up finding the game too easy.
• Making the audio cute sounds really good, I'll keep that in mind. So you'd change the soundtrack, or you think adding cute SFX on top of the soundtrack would be enough cuteness? I could also potentially make easier difficulties have a cuter/lighter soundtrack.
• o_o" yeah its not haha
• True! Like maybe death animations and also walking animations when it fits I guess?
Thanks so much for playing & giving feedback, I'm happy you had some fun ^_^
ps: When do you plan to make an other game, will you join other jams soon?
I'd definitely add some SFX yeah. The soundtrack is honestly fine, I just found it not very cohesive between the intro/main menu where it feels more video-gamey and the actual game where it's less so. Custom tracks keeping the high-energy drumlines and airy pads, but with some more retro synths in line with the main menu music would be what I'd try to go for. But it's a lot of time investment for not the greatest payoff, so definitely in the nitpick department.
I don't have any jams on my radar right now, I'll be on the look out for the big ones though when they get announced. I really want to work with a team for once. I do have a little game project I'm working on, and maybe I'll pick up Florordination again after voting ended, you and other encouraging folks definitely motivated me to do so :^).
Such a cool game, so addictive! Love the mash between a clicker and tower defense, genious!
I love this game! It's so much fun and enjoyable. I spent a long time experimenting just to beat it!
I liked concept and gameplay ! Tower defence and autoclicker genres together seems really fun !
I almost wish there wasn't autoclick in the name because I was about to miss out on this game (not the biggest fan of autoclickers). Cool idea of mixing both auto clickers and a tower defense - feels like it's a tower defense ++. Good job!
This is fun! Always think tower defense is a stale genre, and it's always a blast when people try to do it with a different light. Combining auto auto-clicker with a tower defense is certainly a nice idea, and I can see how that may evolve. Nice work on that! The graphics are super nice. Very cute cats too. The gameplay is satisfying and quite balanced, though after getting the hang of the game and how the upgrade works, it becomes much easier than I should be. Also, what on earth even is fortday XD that's hilarious. I like this game a lot.
For some criticism, I'd say being able to put only a few cats (towers) on the board really undermines the free-building tower defence game's potential a lot. It's that type of game where you build a long labyrinth that forces enemies to go through, and I really miss that fun. I would think there is a missed opportunity of placing the upgrades directly on the board. Also, a few more cats would be nice too, mining cats, clicking cats etc you get the idea. Other than that, the game was pretty polished, and I don't think there is much to criticise. Well done!
Thanks for playing!! ^_^
Yeah if you're familiar with the genre, you'd probably wanna switch to Hard pretty early on I guess ^_^" I might add a way to detect if the player is beating the game too easily and offer them to up the difficulty at the end of levels.
You can increase the amount of cats you can place with the bottom-most upgrade but I guess overall it's quite limited yeah.
What do you mean by placing upgrades directly on the board? By the way, were you aware you can upgrade the cats you place by left clicking on them? Once they reach lvl 10 they can upgrade into one of two types with left or right click. (Archer -> Mage OR Crossbow). When I update the game though I'll add probably a third base type, but the idea is really that they branch off as you upgrade them.
Thanks again for playing and taking the time to leave detailed feedback ^_^
By placing on the board, I mean having the upgrades for cursor, miner, dice etc. as buildings of some sort, so you don't need to have a sidebar on the right. I don't know. It feels like if you are going for a monitor as the design the sidebar seems a bit out of place. And you already have different icons on screen anyway, so I feel like they can be combined together? Just random thoughts :)
And I am not aware that you can upgrade the archer to a mage cat or a crossbow cat. It already sounds cute without even seeing them. For my playthrough, I mainly focus on economy and quantity. By making the path as bad as possible for the enemies, I don't think I need to upgrade any cats to level 10. It's a shame I don't get the chance to see cute mage cat :)
This is really fun, and well made. This is quite polished and I can't think of any feedbacks for improvement. Will love to have an infinity mode.
Overall, great job!!! This is really fun.
Really cool game! I love clicker games and tower defense so this was a great combo in my opinion. The upgrades felt nice and it was fun to place my cat towers down to defend the computer. The try hard mode is no joke, I couldn't beat the first level lol. Great work!
