How does the game fit the theme?
Nothing can go wrong or the panda will die. Also you are immune from enemies and kill them while the panda is rolling, so nothing can go wrong when a panda is rolling around!

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The only thing I did not make from scratch is the music.

How many people worked on the game?

Played your game on stream. If you wanted to watch me go through it I've got the vod below timestamped to your game

pretty cool platformer. Juice jumps rolls and dash

The controls were snappy and allowed for precise controls, which was great. The mechanics had a good amount of variety and the challenges were pretty well designed. I liked how you implemented golden bamboos that you had to go out of the way to obtain. The visuals were pretty nice and the audio was well done. The theme wasn't really that well implemented tho imo. Overall, pretty nice platformer!

This is really good! I was having fun with the platforming challenges and was quite keen to go through them. My only real complaint is that I couldn't get my controller to work and had to use my keyboard, and after a couple of levels the kind of precision platforming really strained my fingers. But this is a solid little platformer. I really appreciated the length and detail of the tutorial section easing you into the mechanics. There are a lot of jam entries that struggle with that sort of thing and just throw the book at you to figure it out. It did take me a while to get my head around the fact you can't *stop* rolling, but after rolling through that spider into spikes about four times it did sink in.

Hello! I just tried your platformer game, and it reminds me a lot of Celeste. I found it really fun, with a well-balanced difficulty that makes the gameplay even more enjoyable. The animations and controls are superb—I especially love the dash and roll animations ! Great game ! By the way, feel free to check out my game! 😊

The controls were very smooth, I was very impressed.

However, I regret to inform you that things can go wrong when a panda is rolling. Check out our game if you get a chance!

Cool game with cool art and sounds. The sound effects made it a lot better imo. Nice!

cool cute platformer.

Really like the move where you roll & jump during the roll.

I thought that the part on the top with checkpoint was mandatory & almost quit there, but was really proud when I got the collectable, congrats!

Minor improvement would be to add the slightest amount of inertia when moving, just to make it feel a bit more real/intuitive

Very cool, I'm a big fan of Celeste, so this clicked with me! My main feedback is, if you want to do a precision platformer, you need SUPER TIGHT controls. In this game the controls are not bad, they are mid; but you need excellent controls for this genre to work well. Anyway good job! Improve the controls and I'm in!

Great game! Love all Celeste type games on jams. This one has some unique stuff you could make more use of in the future, like the rolling and the falling platforms. You need to take time to get the movement feel right tho, right now it is too snappy and fast. Falling platforms do not seem to fall because the background is not moving which is jarring. You can lock yourself out of bamboo too easily and it is not as obvious where the main path is, when it branches it is a 50/50 if you are going towards the bamboo, or locking yourself out of it. Still very good and enjoyable game! Keep going!

Cute game, good work!

I had some trouble with the controls, but once I got the hang of them, movement was very nice.

I really like it but E/J feels a bit random unless you were playing with WASD, which I wasn't. But still a great game! Really enjoyed :)

Awesome game! I like the pixel art style and the background music. The panda is adorable, and I also enjoy the jump rolling! Dash has also been very helpful to me! The design of the platformer levels is well done! Good job!

Solid platformer with some cute theming. Definitely a little tricky at times, but I'm not the greatest at platformers!

This is an interesting game to rate. There are almost two different games packed into one, with a normal clear as one, and all golden bamboo clear as the second. I am quite used to playing platformers so I am defaulting myself on the latter, and I am enjoying the difficulty it provides, but I would imagine the former will be a much different experience. I will be honest that I am not a fan of pandas, so I don't pretend to like the character, but I'd say the graphic is pretty good overall. There are quite a few movement options in the game, so it definitely will provide depth to the movements, but I do feel the panda is quite floaty and is sort of hard to control. I am guessing it has quite high horizontal velocity with far too great of an acceleration, so that might be a good way to start fine-tuning.

Anyway, this is quite a nice game, and you should be proud of yourself for making it!

Boy does this give a donkey kong country vibe <3

I feel that the controls for keyboard were a little difficult - I probably should have plugged a controller in.

Ye, fun little game! I had little trouble with controls, i would maybe prefer little bit lower gravity and maybe some inertia changes so the movement is more predictable, dont know exactly if more/less, that is more up to playtest :) But otherwise nice mechanics for one man team!

Great game!

Early level have good design, we have a tutorial that implement the basis, they are implemented with
progression, we can have sometimes two way to complete the level with a bonus if we take the hard path and
we have the sensation that it was made to speed run.

At the end for the game design, sometime we can be confusing, for example, there's this little platform that we might think it can be reached but we need to roll and jump to the other side, the chaining barrel was not super convincing.

I think the game wants to be dynamic, the music needs to be more energetic, i have the feeling i will relax, maybe you put this music because "nothing can go wrong" with a panda.

Like it's a platformer, buffer jump is missing (or maybe it's wanted), try not to center vertically the camera on the character, put it a little above the character and the camera, for more comfort, can go a bit ahead where the player goes (with smoothness), you can inspire from the virtual camera of unity, they have great features.

It lacks of innovation, the little thing that tells you you're not playing a classic platformer, we have the sensation of "déjà vue".

You focused on the content and use all the mechanics you made, it's super great.

I had a lot of fun of retrying those level and when you want to retry the entire game, it's a good sign in general.

It's well balanced, not too punitive, the levels are short.

Nothing to say for the design / animations, they are neat.

The physics overall is great, we have the control on the character, it's a pleasure to jump / move around.

It reminds me of the end is nigh or super meat boy.

I hope you had fun for doing it! Congratz!

Very fun game! I very like the sound effects and gameplay.  I couldn't get past the spiders on the spikes, but it was a wonderful experience. Great job!
