maybe my favorite game of yours!
Would've loved a bit more challenge though, maybe something with more difficult enemies, or beating it against the clock?
Numbers go up, satisfaction is through the roof!
Only thing that irks me a little bit is how the islands interact with each other while placing & that I misclick them sometimes, which causes a big mess that I need to clean up since the item goes through my flags instead of the rest, but that's very minor
I was quite proud of my 4k end score, but looking at the other scores I no longer dare posting it ^^'
One small comment I have is that this game was missing some nice sound effects when you click, the birds attack and there is fire damage for example, but it was still addicting enough to finish it.
Loved having 8 birds though, that felt really fun, good job!
Love the concept and the core gameplay loop.
I did find it sad though that you have a pretty small limit on expanding, while the whole point of cookie clicker games usually is that your "speed" increases exponentially for a long time and the numbers get ridiculously big.
I did also like the assets & atmosphere btw!

Love it!
2 minor issues I had is that I really wanted a refresh button but couldn't find it, and also didn't read the description before finishing the game (to avoid spoilers) so didn't know that scrolling was a functionality, that
The AI is great, I also would love more levels, or a configurable sandbox where you can choose how many castles there are, how many AIs and how "unfair" the AI is (by allowing it to spawn more quickly than you)
Fun game, I love turn-based games that move when you move!

One minor comment that I have is that I would remove the "max steps" thing, solving the puzzles on their own is satisfying enough and taking time to solve them is not something I think should be punished.
You could still have a metric that states in how many steps you solved it, but only keep it as a high score, not a fail condition.
(if I lost because of this I probably would not have finished it, but I'm glad I did!)
You did get the escape room vibe correctly, you constantly have to think "what clue fits what puzzle, and how to interpret it".
I felt really smart when figuring out the shapes one ^^.
Small possible improvement would be to add a hint button if you're really stuck, so that you can still enjoy the rest of it!
