This is a rougelike game, with no limits to your upgrades... what can go wrong ? Please don't be insane and really hold that button so long... XD

I like this game ! Simple but effective execution of the given theme.

can you please rate my game and give some feedback that helps

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!!! Just wondering if you have bought any of the upgrades like clones and skills?

Submitted

I had fun playing this, I liked the upgrades, the audiovisual feedback was great.

Developer

" its fun. good graphics and snappy feedback. the gameplay is simple but enjoyable
holding the button isnt the main goal of the game it looks like but after you let go the game picks up
there is no limit on the upgrades tho so you can run it for as long as your game allows. thats fun. i say you should expand on that. i think it would be neat where if you hold it for 5 minutes you have to fight off things anyway and then hold the button for longer. maybe the bosses or chonky enemies at the end of each level like in your idea" - Mello

That was fun. I liked the twist on the clicker game  genre, and a how you can beat the game by just holding the button down for five minutes.

No I bought shields and range boosters and damage boosters

Amazing game! I thought your game is hard at first, but after read instructins (somehow missed it first time), I understood how wrong I was! Your game is easiest of all! Until you let that button. And then party started! I was able to reach level two by fighting, and would really like to know what would happen if I didn't let that button for 5 minutes. I tried, for a minute and I thought I can do it, but something went wrong... Very clever, funny and awesome game! Not to mention how insane is that this is your first game jam!

Hello,

This is a very innovatice gameplay, never seen anything like this before. The music reminded me a lot of the old school arcade games and a little of vampire survivors too. It's a pretty good game.

I found the experience a little confusing. I am supposed to hold the button but then I keep getting whacked by all of the enemies. The only way to attack them is to let go of the button but the enemies are too fast (or the browser is laggy) and the enemies hardly get hit.

The other aspect of this game that is not my cup of tea (but could be others) is to press and hold. As someone who has RSI, that is hell on my hand.

Maybe I have been playing it wrong and there is a better easier way to play this. But if there is, I didn't find it obvious so if you continue to work on this game, maybe that's something I would request.

Good luck!

ya, the UI for shop is not obvious.. haha thats my bad..

You can buy clones and upgrades, so later stage you can hold the button easier.

The shop sells rock for holding the button too

Developer

oh ya, if you experience any lag issue, you can download it for a better experience

I feel like the game with and without the clones are two different game styles, because once you have them you don't really have to defend anymore, just upgrade. Audio overlap sounded terrible near the end, too many harsh noises being played at the same time. I feel like I don't need to replay it because the upgrades to clones is so obvious. It needs some balancing and more upgrade options. It's a pretty well made game. I love that how you win is that you do have to hold it for 5 minutes like it wanted you to in the beginning.

Developer

yaaa, thanks for playing!!! Totally agree with all the things you mentioned.. and i actually dialled down difficulty and cheap clones cost on purpose so that others can enjoy.

Do you have any upgrades suggestion? Im planning postjam to fix all the sound effects, more content to distract others from holding button, and more enemy variations.

The main things I think of are different helpers in the vein of the clones, but each has a different specialty they are good at. The primary thing I think of when contemplating replayability is, for example, if there was a stun based helper, would I want to replay the game and try to go for a build that is mostly stun helpers? If I can replay the game and live out my goal of using mostly a specific upgrade, that might get me to play again. But you want to avoid making everything too good or too simple strategy wise. It's a complex topic.

Nice. Works smoothly!

The only issue is scaling. There's a point where clones just do the job themselves.

Otherwise, congrats!

you got me for 2.5 minutes before my cat made me accidentally let go hahah great idea for a game good use of theme

Submitted

That was a long time to hold that button. XD

Also, I'm not sure if it was intentional hitstop or lag, but I noticed a short pause every time I shot and killed an enemy.

Fun though!

This is a clean, tight, experience. I love the misdirection in the two ways to "play" the game.

Damn, this is for sure the most addictive game from this game jam, brought me straight back to cookie clicker!

once you have enough clones, I just can't let it go ^^', congratulations!

Fun game. Cool upgrades.

All I could really ask for is a bit more juice on the kills. Some cool explosion or something maybe? (Or maybe that's in an upgrade I didn't get to yet.)

Update: It gets much easier after buying clones. I enjoyed the OP feeling of melting faces while I watched.

Really fun game, I ended up playing it for much longer than I expected! I found the game design very elegant: simple but engaging concept, and just the right number of upgrades to make it very interesting without overwhelming the player. Congrats!!

If you decide to keep working on the game, I'd love to play an extended version with more types of enemies and maybe some crazier upgrades! :D

Fun little game, upgrades definitely make things really cool but after you've gotten a good few it becomes pretty easy. Good job!

What a simple but addictive idea !

I liked it that was really fun to play that. Juiced this gameplay with some visual effects and sfx can be really good for future improvements !

Game is fun and snappy, played both the intended way, holding the button :) and releasing it.

I liked it!

liked the button hold, so nothing can go wrong, UNLESS YOU RELEASE THE BUTTON YOU FOOL!!

Developer

Eyyyy, thank for playing my game!!!
Did you get the chance to buy all the upgrades? like clones and skills?

Submitted

I didn't end up buying all the upgrades, but I most definitely bought some of them, like shields and damage. Liked it to! :)

Developer

Have you tried the clones? They are like super Overpowered, and I'm really glad you let go of the button XD
