Some clever puzzles! Great core idea :)
Really really cool game haha. The bounces against walls are really satisfying to do ^_^ clever concept
thanks! im glad you had fun :>
By far the most creative interpretation of the theme I've seen! I love how you iterated over the concept and how the game plays like a puzzle game but still tests your reflexes. The difficulty progression feels good, I just got briefly stuck on level 7 because for some reason I forgot you could move and not just dash.
As feedback:
Great game all around, congrats!
I really appreciate the feedback! I think the blurriness looking like pixel art might have something to do with the change in window size from porting it over but i'll definitely look into fixing that. I didn't notice you could glitch through the portals until it was too late but it should be fixed in the post jam version. Adding keyboard navigation is really good advice i'm using that for sure. Forgetting you could move in level 7 was really common actually,so don't feel bad about that.Thank you for playing! i'm glad you had fun :)
This was really cool. I loved the restriction to put a spin on this kind of puzzle solver. I couldn't quite figure out how to reactivate the charge in level 7 after hitting the arrow. Spacebar seemed to just slow me down and not reactivate the charge. I really enjoyed this! Adding background music and sound effects will be a great enhancement to a solid concept. Nice work!
Thanks for playing! The solution to level 7 is alot simpler than it seems, you don't need to reactivate the charge just ROT13:Jnyx gb gur evtug
You clearly put a lot of love & care into the mechanics, it shows!
The only thing this game is missing is a soundtrack & sound effects when hitting things (a cheap hack I found is to just make the sounds effects with your own voice 😅)
thank you! i'll definitely need to remember that trick for the next one lol
Quite a hard game for me. Interesting gameplay and puzzle. Good job!
Thanks! It was definitely difficult for a lot of people but im glad you like it :)
Really fun game! This is a very funny way to interpret the theme as well! Good time!
thank you! making elaborate stretches on the theme is one of my favourite things about jams lol
Fun game, like the little twist and playing around with the dash and the bounce. Great job :)
Thank you! that means alot :)
Innovative game, I can't say I've ever played a game where you can only move in one direction and have to bounce of the level bounds to get around. Sure, the audio's missing but that's fine, as a proof of concept this is great! At first I thought the controls were a bit too floaty, but it made sense for the game mechanics, so that's good! As a sort of "advice" for future jams, I would, especially for puzzle platformers, spend far less time on making new levels, and more time on polishing existing ones and the mechanics (audio, animations, tweens) etc.
I couldn't really get past level 5 as I wouldn't get over the center glass block :(
thank you for the feedback! I must admit most of the development time was spent on the levels instead of polish so that is a very good point. Dont feel bad about not being able to complete level 5 btw it's definitely one people struggled alot with
Great theme interpretation and great game. I really wish that there was audio to go along with the puzzle solving, but other than that, I liked it.
thank you so much! audio is definitely something I overlooked before this jam, lessons learned for next time i suppose
Good game and really cool interpretation of the theme! Would've been nice with som audio.
thank you so much! Adding audio is definitely on my list of things to add in future
This is the funniest interpretations of the theme I have seen yet! Everything is all-right😉
thank you! I knew it was the right choice as soon as I thought of it :>
A really cool puzzle platformer with such a simple yet enjoyable twist! You can only go right! A fun twist on the theme too.
The levels are very well designed, all of them manage to explore and push this dashing mechanic into its full potential.
You have such a good core idea here, I can easily see it expanded into a full game.
Amazing work!
Thank you so much! i'm not sure if I'll make an entire game out of this though I am considering adding a few more levels once the jam is over
This might be one of the most interesting interpretations of the theme I've seen yet! it's a pretty enjoyable game.
I really appreciate it! I was worried it might be too much of a stretch at first but I'm glad people seem to like it!
The game felt generally difficult, especially the icy section at the beginning. I couldn't get past the level 7 .But overall, I liked the approach to the theme and the mechanics. Well done.
i'm glad you enjoyed it! level 7 is definitely one of the hardest levels, i might try turning the difficulty down a bit for next one
The dashing and bouncing mechanics I thought were really clever. The game was fun to play through, too. I got all the levels, but none of the collectibles. Overall solid game.
thanks! and congrats on managing to beat the whole thing, it definitely ended up being more difficult than I anticipated
Love how you played with the word for the theme. The concept of the game is really fun. I think you should have put the key for the dash on something else then "x". Maybe "a" since it's not used, or space since you can jump with "w". Other than that, I really like your game. I made it to level 10.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to add more options for the dash key, I mostly used x because I've been playing too much celeste lol
The main idea and implementation of the theme are really cool! (the level design is also nifty) If you want some constructive feedback: I think you could do a better joob introducing and teaching the part of the main mechanic that consists of stopping yourself mid air through a half charged dash; I almost got stuck when I realized I could do it by accident (but maybe I'm just silly like that)
Also, I love the theming and all the wordplay; right up my alley :)
Thank you so much for playing! I went back and forth a lot over whether I should explicitly mention that as a mechanic,I don't think it's necessary to complete any of the levels though it does definitely help in a lot of them lol.I'm really glad you liked the wordplay that was probably my favourite part of making it
I couldn't get past level 7 but I love it
I'm really glad you liked it! if it helps, it reuses the mechanic from level 4 albeit in a slightly different context
Got stuck on level 5 (could not pass the 2nd ice block) but loved the interpretation of the theme!
Thanks, I really appreciate it! That's completely understandable, the game does get pretty hard from level 5 and onwards, I think it might be helpful to dash off the blocks at the top
