Hey, sorry for giving you feedback so late. I like the concept and the minimal style. I feel the collision is not 100% accurate all the time. or too sensitive sometimes. Maybe you should make use of the different colored background from the beginning. For example, if you jump on one color, only the blocks with the same color will disappear. Anyway, good job!

BEETLE RUSHNice game. The colours and sound made me feel I was inside an old TV :)
I best marks were L:4 S:56

FIND - A - MOLE (lowrezjam version)Seems easy at first, but has a really good progression with each level becoming increasingly more difficult. Overall, very fun to play!

Sidestepperhey pretty fun game! i really like the concept and it was fun to play. it seems like there are some collision detection issues though, so it was a bit frustrating when i'd die while being at the top corner of a block. also a lot of times the little guy would jump up off a block after pushing it down even when i never pressed up, and that lead to a lot of dying as well. pretty cool though!

Chambers of ChaosPretty retro, pretty simple, pretty FUN! :O It does have that retro-challenging feel, thanks to the sounds and graphics, and it's got a really nice concept!
The way the game was built also made it pretty intuitive to me (how to play, etc.) and it's quite easy to get, even without reading the how to play instructions. :P
Loved it! :D I kinda always die when the "golden" blocks start falling :P
Also, you made the console/engine? That's neat! :O

UNLOCKRThank you for such a complete review! I'm glad you like it.
The game is still a bit buggy, but playable, I have to make the levels a bit more balanced, the "golden" (you mean the yellow ones right?) are a bit hard. I'm glad the game turned out have such a retro feeling!
And yep, I'm still making it (Console), but the current version was already good enough to create this game, which is pretty cool. Right now it's a bit like Pico 8, the code is mine (obviously ahah), but I intend to change some layouts and to create a color palette of my own and other stuff, Actually if I have the time, which will be hard this and next year, I would like to create a version just for the LowRezJam, it would be cool to see other people using it and one version with less restrictions. I published some info about it on java-gaming site.
I'll leave the link, in case, you are interested in it: http://www.java-gaming.org/topics/what-i-did-today/33622/msg/370008/view/topicse...
Once again thanks for playing and reviewing it!
Simple and fun, I really like the concept. I can see booting up this game from time to time for some quick fun.

DemoDerby64That's a nice game.
It sends me back to the beginning of digital era with that 1 channel sound. =D

4 Elements PinballSimple and funny. I see the potential for a rhythm game here. By the way, the jump felt a bit clumsy, and I found a bug in the collision detection (screenshot attached). Good sound effects.

You already played our game: Blind Bird, so we can't do anything but thank you. 」( ̄▽ ̄」)

Blind BirdAhah no problem!
What you see in the picture is not exactly a bug in the collision, but an illusion. You see, I did not create 3 sprites to make the effect up and down, that part is in the code, what happens is that the real position of character is touching the block, but the animation makes it look like it's not touching. Anyway that will be fixed in the next update. Thank's for playing.
Simple game but fun to play :D However, the jump and push could ve been be better I guess 👍

Battle TinyReally nice game. While it is simple enough to figure out without any sort of instructions, I did have to die a couple times before I figured out the rules. Otherwise, I could definitely loose an hour or so to playing this game.

Goldbox 64I like the way everything paused and slid down when you pushed a block, it gave the game an old console/arcade feel.

Ayud CairnsSuper simple but actually really addicting and fun. The jump felt a little awkward (no slow curve at the top) but it kind of adds to the retro/nostalgic charm. Awesome job :)

Planet CosmodgeThanks for playing!
Some of the comments state that the jump is a bit weird. I was actually making other game for the jam, but I reached a point when I realized I wouldn't be able to do it on time, so I stopped it. Than I asked myself, "Am I gonna give up or am I gonna make something in these six hours." and then I came up with this. I'm gonna try to fix "Super Jump" bug and then I'm gonna try to make the jump a little bit more fluid without losing the retro/nostalgic feel.
The rules on when the blocks would go down seemed a littly wonky at times, and it doesn't really make sense that landing on the top of a falling block kills you (though I understand where it comes from code-wise), but fun otherwise. The simple graphics are very clean-looking and it has a nice difficulty ramp. I enjoyed it overall. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for playing and for the review!
You speak the truth. The game is indeed a little buggy, sometimes when the blocks are on the ground they do this weird thing where they go a little bit up. I know why this one happens, so it will be easy to fix, the "Super Jump" is another story, because it doesn't always happen and it never happened to me.
About the killing part, the game is a bit hardcore, what happens is that if you touch a block that is not placed on the ground or on another block, you will die, and this fact is not gonna change, it's the mechanic I come up with to make it harder, in this case very hard.
Once again, thanks, I hope you play this or any other game I create in the future.
When the box is falling and you collide with it from the side, it kills you. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but for me it ended quite a few runs. Overall it has nice controls, and a vierd and unique idea. It could certainly be made into a full game.

Dash menaceThanks for the review and for playing it!
The mechanic that I come up with kills you unless the block is already placed on the ground, of course the game has a few bugs that need and will be fixed.
Someone else also suggested that it could be turned into a fuil game. I must be honest, for the last jam I made QLOW and I had ideas to turn it into a full game, but then I was caught by other stuff so I ended up not doing it. This time I don't even have intentions to turn it into a full game, at least, not for now. So if you or anyone else think they can make something good out of it, feel free to take idea and to ask me anything.
Again, thanks.
Pretty entertaining. It's very 2600!
I was a little stumped early on, but got sucked in after a few tries. "One more try" became a few dozen more tries.
It would be neat to see where this could go with more time.

64 MercuryThanks for your review, I like it very much ahah!
I'm happy almost, if not, everybody had a nice moment playing it. It would be interesting to see a full scale game out of this, but like I said in other comments before, right now, for me, it's not the right moment to do it, so feel free to take the idea and make something.
Once again, thanks.
Nice little game. I wasn't sure of my objective at first, but I eventually figured it out. Iron out a couple little mechanical glitches, and it would be nicer to play. (When jumping onto a block, it leaves a space between the character and the block. Also, sometimes after pushing the block down, the game makes you jump.) I think my high score was 12, but I didn't play it too long. Cheers!

MekEcks_DEMO_ver_negative_oneThanks for playing and for the review!
The part where it leaves a space between the player and the block happens because of the animation, it's gonna be fixed on the next update.
The "Super Jump" bug is something that will take a while to fix, because it doesn't happen all the time, in a matter of facts, it never happened to me, at least not in the current version. But I will do my best to fix it soon, I hope you played.
I hope you give it a try again later on.
Once again, thanks for playing!
Nice entry, and has a really nostalgic feeling to it. With only 6 hours to create this game, I'm curious if you will spend more time fleshing it out post-jam?
