Great work! The graphics, animation and audio are really cool, kudos to all the team!

The gameplay works fairly well, though I'll echo that walking speed is a bit slow (feels a bit like Another World's, but without so many hazards to pay attention to while walking). Replaying the same level sections 6 times felt quite tedious though, I felt I had enough after fetching the 2nd repair kit. Allowing the players to fetch all 3 kits in the same run (or have only one actual objective at the end, and some optional ones on the way) would feel nicer, while keeping the "go back to the ship" system - so you'd replay it only once backwards with new/more powerful monsters.

I like the art and animation. It felt the intro was a little too long but it was a neat game to play!

very nice graphics!

Woah nice game. I liked the animation on the main astronaut. The eyes are really scary...

Cool game! I hate orange flying eye...

It would be nice if the gun and jetpack were duplicated on the mouse buttons (left and right). Also probably missing some roll/dash action in order to abruptly go to the side. It would also be nice to be able to go both left and right from start location

Nice style and topic!

Thanks for the feedback - I agree the movement could do with some improving. I love the image you posted - it definite has the vibe we were going for :)

Your game is good, but the player is a little too slow. In overall, I really enjoyed playing and had fun.

Art and colors are very nice. Agree with the others about player speed, but on the other hand it's nice to have a bit slower paced game. I think it would be better to be able to carry 3 modules at once. Good game overall!

This is a surprisingly calm experience. I like that the astronaut's animations are all chill and relaxed, almost sexy-like, hahaha. The backtracking is a little boring, though, and the yellow enemies are hard to counter. Overall I liked it.

Great game!! The pixel art is simply fantastic and the audio is awesome! I miss a little of speed on the player, because if I need to go to find the piece and then go back to the ship could be a little annoying, but nevertheless is a great game!

Great graphics and sound effects. Loved when the eyeball opens their mouths and try to take a bite on you. Also, I don’t think I played any platformer that does not have horizontal momentum like this one before, definitely a very interesting experience.

I especially liked the design of the character and the ship :)

Nice style and animation, agree that the dude could move a bit faster.

Really beautiful pixel art aesthetics! Great music, atmosphere created and smooth rockets control.

I went through the whole game and I will definitely play as well a future version with more levels. Something I would like to mention though, is the going back and forth, I would have rather to be able to pick up the 3 items on the first run.

I think you have a good foundation here for a very interesting game! Well done!

The artistic direction is pretty cool!

But... why did you make such a slow game ^^? And I wonder too why you force the player to go back to the rocket, instead of letting him retrieve the 3 pieces.

Otherwise, it's a good entry, nice job!

Great aesthetic, overall promising with a few holdups in execution.

The intro is simple and to the point, but could stand to move a little quicker, especially considering that players have most likely already read this blurb before opening the game. Rather than simply repeating the premise as we wait for the crash that's already happened, this opening would be a great opportunity to visually present the locations of the repair kits and what the enemies look like.

The movement was frustratingly sluggish, especially for a game set on the moon. This is compounded by the enemies, who are too fast to leave any room for error– It feels good to get quick-draw kills right as an enemy gets up in your face, not so much when you're being inescapably spammed by an enemy you can't outpace. The orange enemies are especially broken, to the point where fighting them becomes a question of how quickly you can kill them rather than actually being able to avoid their attack. Their beam definitely needs a limit on angular speed and / or a limit on how long and frequently they can fire.

The graphics and sound are nice though, and again, I see a lot of potential here. I'd love to see an expansion on this!

Lovely pixel animation! As others have said the overall game flow is unfortunately kind of slow for an action game, but the core combat is pretty fun so with a denser environment or faster overall movement it could feel great!

Nice game! While the various melee attack eyes were simple to deal with, the orange eye brought another level of gameplay out by having to stop and think at least a little bit. You have to make sure you can get that horizontal line quickly before you enter its area. I must admit that I immediately felt exhausted when I finished returning the first repair kit and realised that each subsequent backtrack would be longer than the last, but apart from that this game is very solid and professionally put together especially in the art department. Good job getting that level of polish on a jam game.

Whoa! Totally cool!
Your game has this feel of those old school cinematic platformers like "Another World" and "Flashback", combined with the platforming features of a normal platformer (haha, lots of use of the word 'platformer')
The feel, the music, the gameplay mechanics, everything is superb!
I especially liked the short and to-the-point intro.
Excellent work!

Developer

Thanks so much! That is high praise indeed :)

Glad you enjoyed it.

It has a very well-thought out visual style and the theme is fun. Just turning up the walk speed would solve basically the only issue! If you had a powerup such as a super jetpack on the way back in order to speed up and vary the journey back it would be another way to spice it up a bit. Good job overall

Developer

Thanks very much :)
The super-jetpack idea is not a bad suggestion actually.

Superbe art, and the main menu is super polished, that's nice to see !

My main problem with the game is the character's speed. Having to go back and forth to find wrenches and returning them to the ship is a nice idea, but the trip to get back/continue forward is painfully slow. Having new ennemies spawn is a nice touch though.

The speed is also detrimental to the shooting aspect of the game, because once an ennemy gets too close you're pretty much screwed, and before you can flee to aim, you've already lost a good chunk of your health bar.

This is sad because everything else is top notch, but that problem is the rock in the shoe that follows you all the way through the game.
