how do you get the 4 and 5 endings I'm so confused, also your game is really fun.

Developer (3 edits)

Thank you for playing and for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

Those two are kind of joke endings, but you can get them if you really want.

Don’t read further if you want to find out the endings on your own!

To get the 4th ending, start the game and don’t attempt to jump to the second island for 10 minutes.

To get the 5th ending you have to be lucky, there’s a 1 in 1000 chance to get it when pressing any pedestal button.

Nothing interesting happens on those endings, you just get the ending screen with some text.

thank you so much

Ok, I finally got the 1, 2 and 3 ending.

Very nice game! The atmosphere feels nice, the audio and the visuals are so good!

The gameplay is solid, very fluid camera and movement. The platforming feels great. Every button press feels unexpected.

Great work, congratulations!

Developer

Wow, thanks! It’s awesome that you have found (virtually) all the endings. And I’m glad that you enjoyed camera and movement, I’ve put a lot of work into it! Even though I’m not entirely happy with platforming, because I haven’t implemented jumping momentum yet.

You kept it neat and simple and the unexpected elements where interesting.

The graphics are simple but well implemented and tweaked.

Only criticism I can offer is that respawning is sort of disorienting. Sometimes just even turning the camera around can be disorienting maybe due to the plain black skybox + very simple (and repetitive forms). However since the game is short that doesn't present any trouble.

It was fun to play while it lasted, I would have liked to see more, but it's good length for just 1 dev.

Developer

Thanks playing and for the feedback! I didn’t actually think about it, but it makes sense that the lack of objects to focus on can make the game disorienting. Though I’m not really sure how to fix it, given the simplicity of the game. I was thinking about adding some background objects like mountains, but I couldn’t figure out how to do that and get the atmosphere I was aiming for.

How many endings did you manage to find, by the way? There’s one that changes the skybox. ;-)

nice looking game and quite relaxing to play

Developer

Thanks, I’m glad it was relaxing, as this was one of the intentions!

Really enjoyed the game! The atmosphere/mood/theme was definitely on point. I like how you tied most things to the buttons, made it very easy to grasp what is going on. Also props to you for getting a whole settings screen in there and bless you for including an actual menu system.

When I got to the 3rd island, I didn't know that I had to use the moving platform to get to the 4th one. Maybe, turning the camera to the "thing" that just activated could help, but I'm not sure how you'd do that while the island is dropping...

I managed to find endings 1 - 3, but I have absolutely no clue where to find endings 4 & 5. I thought that maybe each island would be associated with one ending, but I couldn't find any buttons on island #2 & island #4 Maybe some kind of hint at the end of each ending could help players find out the next ending? Or did I miss the hints? You could also try to hide the buttons on island #3 or #4 a bit more to ease players into the idea that they'll have to search for hidden buttons?

The game reminded me a lot of Superliminal & Antichamber, and I thought that some kind of narrative aspect could really help tie the game together (of course that's a little bit demanding for 72 hours). That way, I feel like you could really provide some meaning to sequences such as the one where "I keep pressing the button but the island keeps moving away".

Regardless, my feedback is a little skewed because I'm not a big puzzle person. You might be able to get more valuable feedback from folks over in https://discord.com/invite/eybtCDR (I've heard good things about the discord, especially if you're into play/making puzzle games).

Thanks so much for playing and for the detailed feedback!

It’s cool that you managed to find all the endings! 4-5 are nearly impossible to get, they meant to be more of a joke. I probably will separate them so that players won’t waste their time finding them. Something like “Secret ending 1/2”.

And you are right, I should add more hints so that it’s easier for players to understand what’s going on. And tie all the endings together, since at the moment everything feels a bit loose.

Ending messages meant to serve as small narrative pieces, but I agree that it’s not enough. I need to give the players a bit more to work with, so that the imagination can easily fill the rest.

I’m glad that you appreciated the UI, you are the first person to do so! A lot of people very much underestimate its importance in a game. Though I still think I spent waaay more time on it than I should have. :-|

Thanks for the Discord link, I’ll check it out! And again, thanks for the feedback! It’s really valuable to me!

I liked it very much! Could use some dialogues! Rly good!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I’ll consider adding dialogues and some story in my future games!

I really like the atmosphere and the feel of the game. And wanted too much to get to that platform

Thanks!

Well done ! I like the ambiance !

Nice game! Loved the atmosphere & the controls feel smooth. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! A lot of people actually complain about the controls, but I’m glad it feels smooth for you! Still, I’m working on improving the controls even more!

Submitted(+1)

Well, I did fall off the platforms a few times, but generally the feeling was that I landed exactly where I intended to when jumping.

Submitted(+1)

wells FPS jumping is never fun for me but the game is cool enough to make up for it mostly :)

Really nice flow as I like how it is all broken up into mini-levels that load right away so my dying just made me want to keep playing..Almost creepy in a good way. Felt stranded. Cool game overall

Developer

Thanks for playing! I think of my game more as a waking simulator, because platforms are so easy, they only serve as links between the islands. But I understand that it can be difficult for others, that’s where the checkpoints come to the rescue! :-)

Submitted(+1)

Nice little game here :)

Search so long for the endings, only got 1 / 2 / 3 :(

There is a platform below the forest, and I find it very suspicious!

Developer

Ha ha, don’t worry, you already got all the endings!

The other 2 I just added for fun and they are practically impossible unless you are very lucky.

Submitted(+1)

Cool chilling/relaxing atmosphere, good unexpected gameplay parts.

Developer

Thanks!

Managed to get endings 1,2 & 3 (yellow) after a few tries. It's a neat little game with a  nice sense of atmosphere, I liked your use of colour (or lack thereof) - it's all very stylish. I had my gripes with the moving platform and slipping off the edge of platforms in general, but it didn't stop me finishing the game a couple of times because you put in proper checkpoints! Good job :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks, it’s cool that you managed to get these endings! Most players stop playing after the 1st one.

And I’m going to work today on fixing player movement and that notorious platform. :-)

Submitted(+1)

This is a super simple and fun little game. I love the chosen music. Well done.

Developer

Thanks!

Very cool ambiance... And the overall vibe of the game is very cool. I was able to get the platform, and I'm glad it wasn't much punishment for missing it. I didn't figure out how to get the other endings. I'll play again and see if I can figure it out :) Good showing for a 72 hour sprint. EDIT: LUCKY! Was it really so low of a chance?

Developer

WOW, congrats! You are the first person I know of to get that ending. Yes, the chance is that low!

Thanks for playing, good luck finding other endings! ;-)

Submitted(+1)

Oh my god I hated the moving platform!

But apart from that platform, pretty good, the movement is weird, most games give you some momentum on jump, you don't just stop mid-air, so that took getting used to.

Developer

Ha ha, I don’t know if I should fix that platform. So many people have trouble with it but I think it adds some fun challenge. :-)

I’m going to start working on a better FP controller so the jumps and movement aren’t so weird.

Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Love the experience in this game. Just that the matrix for the jump is hard to gauge at times. Well done there!

Developer

Thanks! I’m working on improving jumps!

Submitted(+1)

So aesthetic! I love it.

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Overall interesting game! Two things I don't particularly like are that: moving is a little bit too binary and jumping is jerky (animation jumps between frames, instead of smooth transition). But the idea is pretty nice!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! I know, the FP controller I used is a bit jaggy, and I didn’t have time write my own. I’ll start working on a smoother one more suited for parkour.

Submitted(+1)

This is really good... a mesmerizing, surreal experience. Well done!
