Very good, i like it.

The controls felt a lot better than most of the submissions I've played so far and I really liked the concept of having a limit number of Ctrl shortcuts. That being said there were one or two issues I ran into. One of which was that collision around corners seemed to behave quite weirdly. Another is that the collisions between the player and the clones don't always behave as expected. Apart from that though, I did like the graphical and sound design in the game. In addition to that, the level design was of decent quality. I can definitely see this game doing very well rating-wise. Overall a good job. Well done.

Developer

Thanks so much, one of our biggest items that we are working on fixing is the collisions, they definitely need some work.

Great visuals! the whole experience was just really nice. Controls we nice and crisp - only issue i had was sometimes i couldn't get the clone to be in the right space. Other than that it was beautiful to play.

Developer

Thank you! I am looking at a couple alternatives for the clone placing. Had to make some compromises on that, we just focused on making sure it does not spawn in a wall or anything.

Ah I really liked that ending, though it's nature does make the game a bit too short. The mechanic ideas were cool, but could have been exploited farther, since they were only used for button pressing and I only had to use teleport once. I can see how time constraints might have played in though. It's also a little annoying when you make a coopy of yourself in a tight spot and it goes at the wrong place and you cant move it to the button but only away. I never ran out though so it's alright. Alround, a good presentation and concept, but could use a bit more gameplay time.

Developer

Thank you! We are definitely working on fleshing out the gameplay time,  and using the concepts to a greater extent.

Spectacular Art and Music choices really set the tone of this environment.   Smooth fluid controls, only felt awkward in one very small spot so that is very likely just I am bad at platformers :D.    The collisions need a bit of work (I got stuck in a couple of places and placing the copy on one button requires almost pixel perfect fit.)    Overall I really want to explore more of this world and it's mechanics,  cause there are a lot of keyboard commands so this could be really fun.    Oh also I would mention in the tutorial about Ctrl+z, smart people will find it but silly people like me will probably miss it :D

I really really really like this game! It's very fun and creative! The concept is new and fun, and has a lot of potential for more puzzles! The tutorial is also neat! The puzzles are difficult but fair, and I really enjoyed solving them!

The only bad things I found was that the player character tends to get a bit stuck on block corners, and the acceleration feels a bit too quick!

Anyway, good job! I also love the art and the vapor-wave aesthetic at the start haha!

Interesting control scheme, I found it to be surprisingly intuitive! The puzzles were good, though the platforming was weird at times due to the collision detection. Overall a good idea that can become a fleshed out game!

Really dig the Artstyle, but I think you a bit overdone it with bloom (still gave you 5 star for presentation).

I'm not a puzzle game fan, even great one like Baba is You, so maybe i'm not the best at reviewing that sort of game. It just not my jam, but I think it's a good one. Interesting take on 'Out of Control' in the sense of limited control, even though I seen it in other game.

I like the the concept of  using the 'ctrl' key to give power to the player, it's a really nice touch. Coding wise, no bug, it's well executed. So yeah ! Good job overall !

Really clever twist on the theme! The art and presentation was very nice and felt quite polished. I enjoyed the core mechanics of copying and pasting yourself and has the potential for many different puzzles. Great game!

There’s some Mass Effect elevator technology on that second level :P
But seriously, I did like it. I can tell there’s a lot of potential for more levels to be made post-jam!

Nice twist at the end I like it;) I would change the character's collision capsule (I assume?) to box, that way it wouldn't be so slippery, although slopes... idk...

Aaaaaand, lands on my best game gmtk made list

Very nice looking game and polished. The 80s retro something vibe is very cool. :D.

Neat little game! Enjoyed the mechanics would love to see a more polished and fleshed out version of this! -Zane

This is so neat! Awesome and original idea and great execution! The only issues i had, was that sometimes the character would get stuck on the corner of a platform. Anyways , awesome game, great job boys!!

Really great art and mechanics. Love the ctrl-c, ctrl-v implementation!

Easily 5-stars!

Great art, music, sound effects, controls, mechanics, everything! i absolutely loved it!

the only thing i can say is that it was very weird to be told in detail about A, D, and SPACE, but not about CTRL+C, which is never used in games. That was really the part of the game that needed the explicit tutorial, and it wasnt there.

the level design was super clever. you disguised it so well i didnt even catch on and my mind was blown when it was revealed what the level looked like. so cool!

also, whats the deer character's name?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the input, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!! Also, the deer character's name is Byte!

Submitted(+1)

i really like Byte's design

Thank you!!

I really like the game style and gameplay for the game!

It has a solid base for being a fun puzzle game! Though, it seems the game does'nt fit the theme quite well but don't let yourself down.. if you make a post-jam version then this game can become a really nice puzzle game!

Nice Job!

Submitted(+2)

Not bad. I really like the art style and the game controlled well enough. I think you were a little far from the theme though, but I see what you were going for.

Submitted(+2)

This is a lovely little game! I love the art, and while it doesn't fit the theme *too* much, it's an original and fun puzzle game. Nice job :)

Amazing work. The visuals and music are great - polished and artistically pleasing. It seemed like  a cool interesting little world that could have some lore attached to it. The mechanics were a pretty literal interpretation of the theme, but the copy and paste mechanic is original and has a lot of potential.

Positioning your clone was tricky - I expected this to work more like the actual cut/copy/paste where, after copying, you would assume control of the clone and leave the original behind (which might solve that positioning issue but create other ones).

Clever ending as well :)
