Best gradmama character of the year I swear! I wish my grandma could kill those bugs for me as well! Lovely concept and story! Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words, and am really glad I was able to make a game you like! :)

Hey there! Sadly I couldnt go past the wall jump fix, because the wall bugg fix didnt work.

The wall jump occasionally worked, I dont know if this is intentional, but it made the part impossible.

Ive got one little bit of feedback for the part I played; If the dead bodies of fixed buggs kill you, it would be helpful to have the dead bugs lying there to indicate where you cant go.

The idea seems well executed, it just bugged for me. I didnt participate I the jam, but I hope this still was soem helpful feedback.

You are the first one to report wall-jump glitch. I'm sorry that happened. Even though I'm aware that there can be some occurrences where the wall jump does not work properly, but that should be under 1% and it should only give higher upwards momentum. It can still be the case that somehow the game isn't compatible with your device/browser. (Heck, even I could have left a big unintentional bug in it.)

Thanks for your feedback, I wanted to, and will definitely do something about the bugs, I even had an idea for it, but I ran out of time. I barely managed to pull all the things together. You can notice quite a few cut corners as well.

After all, I'm glad you liked the concept and the execution! :)

Damn yo granny's got some moves! It was a bit painful to wait for granny to walk up to you and then suddenly you are playing as her jumping around and shit ahahaha this was pretty fun!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad it was surprising, since it was my intention. :)

Submitted(+1)

I really like the granny character, this took me by surprise. Very Nice!

Developer

I glad it did, and thank you! :)

Submitted(+1)

The granny is so cool with her Naruto ninja run haha.  I really like her shadow effect, how it even casts down on the ground when in air!   Great job submitting a game~ Please check out my browser game when you can.

Developer

Thank you for you nice words! :)

I will check your project out soon, when I get home.

Fun Game! The only problem, was when you killed a bug, the collider was never disabled. So if you ran into them after you killed them, they would still kill you. Im not sure if that was intended, but it got really annoying. Good job!

Developer

Sorry, if it was annoying, but it is on the "bugs to fix" list and it's intended, however, there is an unintended bug, that makes it almost impossible to fix that one.

Thank you, and I'm glad you liked it! :)

A very amazing game but after killing all the game i've got the same ending when i didn't fixed all the bug. But running granny was very funny

Developer (1 edit)

For some strange reason, in the HTML version it doesn't wanna show the different endings... If it's worth your time, please consider downloading it.

Thank you for your kind feedback! :)

This seems like an interesting game in theory. Though I didn't get past the first screen, and it doesn't seem like a rare problem. The Naruto-running granny is hilarious but it's a shame I couldn't find my way past the first screen.

Developer

I guess it's time for me to recompile the whole mess...

Developer

Now I managed to fix it. If you are still interested in playing, you can check it out! :)

I am truly sorry for the inconveniences.

Submitted(+1)

Wow if that's how it can go maybe I should ask my Grandma to fix my bugs!

Super fun concept and interesting system where you don't have to fix all the bugs but if you do it actually gets harder to finish. Especially the wall jump gets quite hard!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I really appreciate you kind words! :)

Tried to play but i either don't see whole game area (first screen, web version) or something other is wrong there...
Mac version show me "The application “No More Bugs!” can’t be opened."

:(

Developer

I guess it's time to recompile some stuff...

Good Job. Granny character is Awesome!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that you like the Granny sprite! :)

The idea of a naturo-running grandma fixing bugs old school style made me chuckle, heh, noice one.

Graphics wise, it's pretty simple but it fits overall and is consitent, that's what matters the most.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to experience the full game. I absolutely can't get over the first jump on screen 2. Are you sure the jump isn't framerate dependent ? I can't seem to interact with anything, nor jump over the gap. I tried both the WebGL and Win-Standalone versions.

Developer (2 edits)

It's the lack of the tutorial and level design skills... At the beginning, the wall-jump is bugged, and (almost) only executable if done on one side, multiple times.

If you meant the gap, where you can fall down, the jump is also bugged, and executable mid-air.

Your kind words mean a lot to me! :)

Submitted

I could do that if I had a wall to jump onto ^^

I can't get passed the very first gap on the second screen. There's no wall for me to jump onto.

Developer

Oh, there:

fall, then jump

because it is bugged, it works. :)

Submitted

Alright, I noticed what happened ^^

Even with that technique, I can't get over the gap. However, while recording a video for you to see, I had a small lag spike, and the character suddenly jumped way higher than it usually does.

Here's my theory : You seem to have made a mistake in the jump impulse. It doesn't take or incorrectly take into consideration the deltaTime between each frame. I have a pretty decent computer, and my framerate is pretty high. Due to that, it seems like the jump doesn't go high enough. With less framerate, I could jump higher.

Hopefully I'll be able to play a fixed version soon :-)

Here's the video : https://1drv.ms/v/s!AiU1u7az8WOK7WXG4EhCpHqdZz1S?e=hphag7

Notice the lag spike at about 25 seconds, and the considerably higher jump.

Developer

Oh, I see what you mean. I'm terribly sorry for this, I had no idea it happened there! I'll try and fix it.

Developer (3 edits)

Thank you so much, for taking your time explaining me, what the problem is. As soon as I saw you jump height (which is about the half of the intentional one), I realized, that the problem is not what I expected it to be. I did not multiply gravity by delta. (Not using rigid bodies, this can happen...)

If you are still interested, it should be fixed by now. :)

Again thank you a lot! Without you I would not have realized this!

(On that note, different endings still don't work in the HTML version.)

Submitted(+1)

I did play the fixed version :)

Indeed, now I can finally get past that gap, heh. Wall jumping worked just fine for me.

Gamplay was smooth. I just wish that you could attack while in the air. I also think that the moving platform, even when fixed, doesn't really manage to 'grab' the player along with it, when moving in th y axis.

Finally, I think that for the bug 'Dead bugs will kill you', you should really put a sprite there. Perhaps a dead bug, a wormhome or a glitchy square, anything. It just feels weird and a bit unfair when you get killed by something invisible.

Still overall, the game lets itself play, and I did finish it. Congratulations ! :-)

Developer (2 edits)

I wanted to do that... But I didn't have time and now I'm not allowed to change it (other than game-breaking bugs).

The invisible bugs still have shadow, though.

Also, thank you for putting up with this, and playing it nonetheless! It make me really happy! :)

Submitted

Hahahaha I wish I had a Naruto grandma who could fix bugs with her walking stick :D
Well done! Stay funky,
Dez

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm glad you like the concept! :D

Nice Game!

But in WebGL the removed objects are still here. they arent visible, but the hitboxes of them are still active :( Do other have the same problem?

Developer (1 edit)

You mean bugs and walls? Yeah they are intentional and are on the bug list you need to fix in-game. :P

Submitted

I like the beginning :D

Developer

Thanks, it was fun making it! :D

Submitted(+1)

I love the granny sprite and interesting ideas for the mechanics!

Developer

Thank you! I wanted to spend more time on the actual levels, but I ran out of time...

Submitted(+1)

Thanks for happy ending. It felt really good.

Developer

Thanks! Though, I'm not sure if that was irony. :P

Submitted

Oh would have lliked to game it! but I got stuck in the first level :(, nice idea and graphics tough :-)

Developer

Wha... How did you get stuck?

Submitted

right after the first jump, my friend also... sry! I hope we are the only ones!!!

Developer

I didn't realize what your problem was. It should be fixed.

I'm truly sorry for the inconveniences.
