Cool game, but I think you went a bit too far on the night mode x)

Fun bullet hell. Night time made it legit hard to see though. Was awkward when some weapons were straight up downgrades.

That was a lot of fun! I really liked the day and night cycle as well the overall controls for the wizard fish.

I think my main issue is that there isn't any feedback for when my weapon hits something. I noticed that I could eventually destroy crates, but I'm not sure if I can destroy boats.

Fun game. Nice power-ups.

I really enjoyed the game! The sound and feedback was on point, and the combat and weapons were fun. I played the game for about fifteen minutes and loved every second, this was an amazing game! The thing I liked most though was leaping out of the water and over the pirates heads!

The absurdity of the premise was great, I would have liked to see you guys lean into it even more in-game and not just with your promo stuff. Eco jumping out of the water had a solid feel to it and was just the right amount of challenge to go after power ups in dangerous spots. I would have liked if the RNG didn't guarantee some powerups would be guaranteed damage if you went for them, but jam games and all that.

An on-hit effect when something takes damage was sorely missing. I still don't know if the zapper is just super weak or if it can't actually destroy obstacles like the other weapons can.

As a quick design note there's nothing disincentivizing the player from just sticking with a weapon they feel is the best they can find. Whether or not this is the optimal play, it definitely encourages a behavior that invalidates one of the mechanics that makes your game fun. Having to make that choice between "do well" and "have fun" is a losing choice regardless of which you go with. Having the weapons be powerups that exhaust on a timer, or giving some incentive beyond score for swapping weapons would be an easy way to nudge play back in the right direction I think.

Night got a bit dark on my screen.

In all, good job guys! You made a fun game. Not everybody can manage to get that far in a jam and y'all did. The world's a slightly brighter place with a lil' wizard fish in it.

Thank you for all the feedback! I agree with pretty much everything you said (I had a plan for the weapon stuff, but time and all that). A lot of the weapon balance was a bit last minute, so I think the zapper was likely just pretty weak. Thanks again for playing our game and spending so much time giving your feedback!

Jumping out of the water gave me Ecco the Dolphin vibes, very cool! Fun game, good job.

Extremely solid game, love the jumping out of the water feel, I didn’t realize I could do that at first but took the game up a notch.

my highscores are 2735. Very good replayability!

Got to a score of 748. That's when the things started to get mad, the mermaids just overwhelmed me with blasting their heart projectiles. The water physics of the game felt smooth, shooting and dodging was satisfying. There's definitely room for improvement, I think you should've made a distinction between enemies/obstacles that can be destroyed and once that can't. Other than that, good job!

The game looks really good, I especially like the lighting!

There's a lot of variety in the enemies

Great job making it^^

Having a boss could be even better(maybe there's one but i died too soon lol)

Very polished game, very atmospheric and a lot of replay value :-D

What's not to love about a wizard fish? Fun gameplay, though I would have liked more interaction than moving my mouse around and it got quite hard when it got dark. Great job on the submission!

I scored 2340!

musics's pretty minimalist , the controls were a bit less precise. The enemy spawning was perfect for that though. SO overall enjoyed it!

Good game, great job guys.

My goal is to play all the other games with hooks/fishing in them, and how could WIZARD FISH not be the first one I tried.

Really well done! I enjoyed taking out the fishing boats, and I LOVED the day/night cycle - it created some really nice looking scenes and added to the challenge at night time. Great work guys.

Glad you enjoyed the game!

The game's idea sounds really promising. However the objects need to be introduced to the player. Good game overall <3

A nice simple arcade game. I liked the way you used the assets. The only things I would have to point out are how a lot of the things that appear aren't destructible, so it makes the weapon feel useless for me. Some of the menus have some scaling issues, besides that I really liked it, nice job.

My highscore was 3710, so far
