Fun and smooth.

My only issue is that it is difficult to move in one direction and shoot in the other. I often ended up in a deadly spiral with me eating a lot of damage just cause I have to turn to face the enemy. Maybe it was just me being bad idk.

I know about that and it was a conscious design decision, it made it so that you couldn't just fly around the enemies getting them in a circle and then destroying them. Thanks for playing though!

Yeah back in the serious sam days you would enter an arena press the left mouse button, press the s key and smoothly wave your mouse until you win. Guess it is too ingrained into me. Good that you think about this sort of stuff.

Great little game! Obviously it would've been better with audio, but the controls are sweet, and using a mouse as the player is creative. I love the trails.

I dieded. Nice little game, I loved the solid colour trail effect behind the ships, the face that I was an actual computer mouse, and that I could do Battlestar Galactica style strafing attacks on enemies (I like realistic space physics).

It felt a little open ended though, I read further down you switched projects which I think explains the lack of some stuff like more player feedback and audio. That said, it's still a really good effort for only half the time allotted, I think it could end up as a fun multiplayer game too if you expand on some of the ideas and polish it up.

Great entry to the jam, nice work!

What a nice game.
As Shrar already said, music and sounds would make it even better.
I didn't get to see the space duck though :(
Also, one of the enemies managed to get into the wall: https://imgur.com/a/2dPEepW

I know about the wall problem, I just didn't have enough time to fix it :/

Pretty fun game! I feel like it would have REALLY benefited from music, sound, and some kind of feedback when you hit stuff/get hit (like camera shake). I loved the trails, the dashing, the movement system in general, and the fluidity of combat. Great game overall!

Developer

Thanks for feedback! The reason I couldn't add that stuff is because I switched games halfway through so I only had three and a half days :/

Interesting Asteroid-like game.

Fun idea, amazing what some people come up with for ideas of how to use the art! The death felt unexciting with the screen just zooming away but the space shooter was fun!

Developer

When you say zooming away, do you mean the screen wipe? because when it zooms away it's the boss fight.

I wish my mouse was as cool!

The trails and bullets look fantastic! I'm glad that bouncing into walls doesn't cause damage because I was doing that a lot haha

Very fun to control the ship and the dash mechanic is great. Visuals are great too, love the trails the ships and bullets leave behind.

Shame you didn't have time to put sound. Could also have been a bit more clear about what we should do in the first part (survive? Kill every enemy? Find something?)

Thanks for your feedback, I'll put it in the description.

Very fun game, the controls are smooth as butter, the visuals are beautiful. If there were sounds it would be perfect

Developer

Thank You So Much! I just didn't have enough time to implement audio as I switched projects halfway through :/
