Very polished game. Some checkpoints would have been nice but loved the style

Wow, this plays smoothly! Really nice. Loved how killing the enemies made them drop their heads and such... really nice surprise ^^

Well done!

Just awesome!!! good job!

Very nice dungeon crawler. Probably the best 3D game I've played so far in the game.

Very cool game, the number of people who rated this game is no surprise when I see this goodness :D

I do have a problem though, I can't properly attack the enemies because I have the fear of dealing damage when getting too close to them and the sword doesn't deal damage to the enemies when on a safe radius but that might be just me.

I'd like to see this game in steam if possible, good job Dan!

Thanks for playing! Well, since people are asking for more, expect it's full version someday on Steam and itch.io...

Just plain amazing.

Looks, sounds and feels great.

Definitely has the Doom vibe, with player face in the UI, very creative.

Keep it up!

Good game quite polished!

Enemies have good telegraphing, I like the animations (like the head jiggle  as they walk). Cool Doom-style story.

Found the player's head bobbing uncomfortable. Mouse is kind of unresponsive ( not sure if because it's web build) Checkpoints would be nice especially after arenas as those are the most annoying parts to play through after you die. I fee; like the sword attack sound effect doesn't fit the rest of the game's audio; it's kind of chiptune where everything else is realistic.
I like how the bosses heads fall off to indicate progress.

Excellent use of the tiles, nice color scheme and asset placement.
Enemies need some kind of sound effect when they spawn or are about to attack, sometimes they would spawn behind me and get free hits in because I didn't know they were there.
Mages seem to be impossible to kill with melee without taking hits; maybe longer pause time between attacks would be good?

Good game wish there was more!

Like I mentioned in the web build, its best to play the Windows version. Thanks for a detailed review though, looking forward to updating the game with more content, checkpoints, as well as more options (like having the head bobbing on or off).

Great and well made! I've completed it; it was engaging!

Really awesome visuals in this game, it looks gorgeous to play!
I think the locked rooms mechanic was a little dull - I much preferred the gameplay when I was charging through the enemies and beating 'em down, rather than when I was waiting for new enemies to spawn while locked in a room, heh. Also, it felt like the enemies took too many hits to die - it probably would have been a more satisfying experience with a higher enemy count and lower hp per enemy.

But all in all, I had a lot of fun playing. Great work!

Nice visual style with some juicy effects that give the sprites some extra life. The 3D was handled well, such that even though the enemies are 2D it doesn't feel jarring. I thought the octo-pod boss creature was very creative and cool looking & that there as a good variety of enemies in general. For a jam-game the amount done to bring this together is really great. If I had to pick out one negative it'd be that it can be all too easy for enemies to clip through/behind you - at which point escaping them is tough. Once enemies are mobbing you it's easy to die rather fast - which would be fine were there a checkpoint system. Overall, very much enjoyed it - great work :)

I love the 3d games with 2d assets! It's so fun and different.

Very good effort for a 3D game! Feels well polished, and some very good use of the assets. Would love to see more enemies towards the end of the game, but I did like the final boss and how you could only hit it with the hell wand thing. To improve, I would suggest adding some particles and SFX for when you hit an enemy, just having some more response would be good.

Good job!

Great dungeon crawler. The variety of different weapons and enemy types is quite impressive. Took me a while to get to the squid boss, which I got stuck at for a couple minutes and eventually died. That one seems to take a loooot of hits, and I played it during my break at work, so time was limited. Please let me know if there is more after that, then I would try again at home to beat him and continue!

Developer

After the final boss, the amalgamation (squid boss), there's no more XD but I'm making an expansion and a VR version, so thanks for playing :D

Blown away by how much you have managed to make in such a short time. The game feels like a super polished tight experience and one that I would play more of for sure!

Be sure to check out the Trailer of the game, I think it turned out pretty well, and be sure to subscribe if you want to see a devlog on this game.

Definitely my favorite game in this game, love the art style and combat

Probably my favourite game I've played so far! Very fun and heavily nostalgic of classic build engine games. Well done! My only critic would be that strafing and attacking felt a little wonky.
