Oh man, this was pretty interesting! Love how you made a game that could have been just a simple movement, attack repeat and added some flair to it. I haven’t played many “move on the beat” roguelikes but this seems like a good representation of the genre. Great job!
this could have been a fun take on the Necrodancer sub-genere of games but the movement not at all being in sync with the music makes it feel like my controls are just annoyingly gated behind an arbitrary "golf" timer. Ambitious attempt!
Concept is quite interesting, and the look of the game is good. But I didn't really understand how combat works, like, I threw a weapon on the enemy, and he didn't take any damage. But itself, the game is very polished
i liked the movement system. Good combination of rythm game mechanic into the rpg game. Well made.
I like the mechanics and gameplay that you have here, but it feels like the art assets weren't used to their fullest potential.
Only thing similar seen with this kind of movement is crypt of necromancer
Im my opinion attack and movement should be different keys to make the usage easier.
Couldn't finish it but had fun playing^^
Pretty cool idea and gameplay. Though it would have been better if you didnt have to looka back and forth all the time
Interesting mechanic, it has lot of potential! I think the beat bar could be replaced with some animations of the knight itself that showed the current bet, so you don't have to look away.
This game was a lot of fun. The move counter definitely made me want to optimize to get through in the fewest moves possible.
This game is really interesting and unique. I think if you had to move in time to the beat of a song it would make the game more engaging (Currently you spend a lot of time looking at the bar and not the game). Really great work though :)
Really liked the use of chickens to block the path and the fact that both attacks and movement amounts could be selected by timing the keypress! It was a little janky on internet but it was super fun! The only thing, and I'm not sure if I glossed over it, but I only figured out the timing affects movement after seeing the attack example. I thought I had to get it on the green to move at all lol!
Interesting idea, and a nice little set of puzzles, I felt it was usually clear what needed to be done. Getting used to the timing took a bit, and having to look down to time it always was a bit cumbersome.
Well done!
Score: 137
I really liked it, it's nice to have different effect depending on when you decide to hit the beat. Very good idea, well executed.
Update: I fixed the problem with soft locking on the scorpion level. Thanks to everyone who reported it!
Fun game, original mechanics and easy to learn, good job
(The game also froze at the scorpion part)
(Same bug as below when attacking a scorpion from range)
Solid game with nice music. I became sold during the moving chicken level when I had to start making interesting choices!
I also had trouble on the scorpion screen, but otherwise, very fun, great job!
This was incredibly engaging, but it kept softlocking on me after I failed on the screen with the scorpions. Fun game though!
Weird. I'll look in to it. Thanks for playing!
Really creative ! The UI needs to be improved but overall the idea is really fresh and fun !
Nice game! The player's mechanic is quite original, maybe you could have that bottom bar on the player itself like the swordor somewhere closer to the player so you don't need to look at the bottom of the game all the time
That's a really good idea. Thanks!
