The art is outstanding. Although the platforming could have been better.

Also May be u could have made a few tutorial levels by only making a few controls consumable so that user gets used to the controls and then continue with the main levels.

Developer

I thought about that but I didn't make the player controller easily modifiable to disable parts of controls like that.

The grapple could use a lot of work but the idea is neat and the art is very cute

The art is great but physics is wakk

Submitted(+2)

It has one of the best art, but sometimes feel buggy while grappling.

You have a beautiful thumbnail :)

oh gosh i’m blushing! i’m the artist who created it. thank you very much, and i hope you enjoyed playing!

Great implementation, the challenge with puzzle platformers in a game jam is that you have to make a bunch of varied levels to explore the mechanics, you've done a really good job with the levels you've put into this.

Only suggestions is to make it clearer how much of each type of movement the player has left, cause a quick detour to a moth or having a shot at a bit of platforming mid way through a level and getting stuck can turn gameplay sour for the player if the moth is clearly the better choice if they know how much movement they have left.

Fun game and a really neat concept! Felt a bit tough at times where I ran out of movement and was unable to continue forward. But with some tuning this could turn into something really impressive. Nice work!

A very pretty looking game, good job! I didn't understand if there was any indication of how many times I could press a button before they ran out though.

hi there,

thanks for playing! on top of each action icon is a little orange “health bar” that slowly decreases each time you make an action. keeping an eye on that should help you gage how much distance you have left to travel with a specific movement, but part of the difficulty of this game is not inherently knowing the exact amount of times you can do an action.  otherwise we would’ve added numbers and allowed the player to math it out rather than undergoing trial & error to succeed.

Ah, not it makes sense. Pretty cool stuff.

Good looking game, but the gameplay felt a bit off sometimes.  It's hard to explain, I did softlock a few times because of grappling hook mechanics.

Developer

The artist team lowkey carried. The movement bothered me the entire time and it was furstrating not knowing how to fix it.

Definitely one of the best looking games I've played so far! Some of the collision was a lil wonky and I never ran out of controls besides on like level 3 bc the camera wouldn't scroll to show the grappling point I was supposed to shoot at, but overall I enjoyed this entry.

Awesome music! It did not scale to my screen size so I think I was missing information. It took a few goes to get the grappling hook across the first level but then it made sense.

Loved the art style and play one words! :)

Would be interesting to see this take on the theme taken further.

A neat idea but it needs some work - in most levels only 1 or 2 moves were used and if you ever ran out you'd be screwed... which I believe is what lead to the really high amount of blue moths spread around... which then means that we aren't really out of control. Really wished to see more working around not having certain moves or being able to properly plan how to spend them.

I see loli, I click.

Jokes aside, I think it was a fun game. I definitely would have liked to have seen more tight puzzles. I played the game more like a platformer, and worrying about my action life bars became an afterthought. This is more of a balancing/level design issue. As such, there were times when I was throwing my grapple off screen to hit something, off screen.

I also felt that the grapple mechanic was a nice touch, but could've been executed better. For example, when you reel in it feels very abrupt, and has no audio feedback that you hit something.

Music sounded very good and fit with the overall art direction, but it most definitely is repetitive. It also doesn't help that it doesn't loop seamlessly, so it got stale after about 4 minutes of gameplay, probably less.

Overall, OK game. Needs rebalancing of action health bars and better level design to compliment it.

thank you very much for the wise input! this game was created by a group of 5 teens and this is only our first jam, so any advice is much appreciated.

Zenith08, who programmed the grappling hook, had a hell of a time wrestling with its code for a good portion of the jam. there IS audio for the hook connecting, but it is admittedly quiet beneath the overworld theme.

we will take these notes (especially those regarding level balancing) into consideration to improve our future work!

thank you for playing, and I hope you enjoyed the game.

funky idea + funkier music, liking the maze like design of the levels. took a little while to get used to but was overall a  fun experience!

Submitted(+2)

Yo, I love the idea of you movement options having their own health bars! The art is fantastic and nice soundtrack!

Submitted(+2)

Hey ! I like the movement restrictions, it's well thought. Also the soundtracks are beautiful.

nice game i liked the grapling hook

It did not scale to me screens resolution so couldnt see all of it which unfortunatley made it rather hard to play.

I forgot to tune the browser edition. If you're on Windows though try the downloaded version (link at the bottom of the page) and it might work better. The game was desigend for a 16:9 screen and other settings won't work as well.
