This is so simple it hurts me. its well designed. Honestly port this to mobile and add more levels and you have a amazing game. Nicely done my friend and with Java no less.
Simple yet challenging! I love the simple design of the game and the gameplay is really fun! I would love to see more levels + music in the post jam version :)
Fun to play! Some of the levels are quite hard too (though most of the game is a piece of cake). I felt like a lack of audio: wouldn't a little ambient music be the cherry on top? In any case, it's quite good.

I had a lot of fun with the game. I really liked the puzzles, although I only managed to beat half of them. My biggest criticism is that I couldn't download the game in the itch.io client or play a web version, which made it really hard to play the game. I can confidently say that I've never double clicked a .vbs file prior to this game. So, making the game more accessible by making it easier and much quicker to start playing would help in the future. Other than that, fun game, fun puzzles, well done :)
It's super tricky to design a puzzle game, and from the looks of it it also looks like you coded it from scratch, which is impressive during a game jam! The interface and presentation in general are polished.
I only solved a couple, but it was a good challenge and I could see myself trying to figure these out during, say, a long journey. Great job!
Edit: I should also mention, however - it wasn't clear to me how this fits the Out of Control theme.
Thank you for playing my puzzle game, I'm glad you appreciate the aesthetics and game play! A lot of the code I write comes from years of practice and improvements, and has become a reusable stencil in my projects. It was with this stencil that I was further able to code this game.
As for the theme, In order for something to be out of control, full control needs to be established first, and slowly taken away. The sense of control was slowly being taken away from the player, as the patterns and grids became more absurd, level by level. I really hope this train of thought made sense.
Anyways, best of luck to you in the GMTK game jam!
Very solid game, I like the clean and pure presentation. To be honest I was never good at this type of puzzle but I had fun nonetheless.
The gameplay is simple, tried and true, and well executed, good job :D
A really neat puzzle game that starts off as very simplistic and soon turns into a very complex game that you could probably spend hours on trying to figure out some of these (queen level I'm look at you)
Very clean presentation by the way :)
Simple puzzle game. I've seen the basic kind of this puzzle before but not the variations. Was cool to see what's all possible with this mechanic.
Also I like the sleek design.
- So how minimalistic you want your game to look like?
- Yes
But seriously, such a minimalistic style is what makes the game distinguish even more! I absolutely love this puzzle, it really is thoughtful and clever game with interesting levels. Keep up with it!
Dont let the simple design fool you ! its hard , i am on heart level. not giving up yet . Creative and sleek :D well done!
Cool entry! I do enjoy puzzles like this, I find with slow puzzle games like this music could add alot. I do like how creative you got with the level concepts. The "so close yet so far" level was probably my favorite flavor wise. The minimalist graphics really lend itself to this concept. Great work!
This is an interesting twist on tile flipping puzzles. I'm not entirely sure how well it fits the theme, but that's not something I particularly care about. I just wish I was better at solving the puzzles. (I solved 13/16)
Art is consistent, Concept is solid, and Puzzles are well thought out. A solid entry in every regard.
