Love it. My only criticism is the lack of any kind of feedback as to how well you're doing at censoring stuff/whether you're angering the employees.
I adore the historical aspect of this game, how you're able to learn about Los Alamos and the individual experiences of the people working there. I'm not sure how difficult this would be, but I think it would be really cool if you were able to get copies of some of the letters that were actually sent to and from Los Alamos and use excerpts of them for the game. It would be a fantastic way to experience the history.
Great concept, love the design and content, and I seriously think this style of game could be used to bring history to life in an accessible and fun way - especially if it could incorporate primary source documents!
P. S. How dare you make me relive Richard and Arlene's love story again, I was dreading that I'd reach the end and use up all of my tissues

Congratulations for the game! Loved the overall aesthetics and how it is linked with the theme.. Rated <3
If you are interested in Tower Defense, check out our game. A tower defense where you can control only one tower at a time.

As everyone else has said, some nice animations and extra challenges and you'd have a good Papers please style game
I like this take on "Papers Please". You have something really good here. What I was missing was some feedback on how good/bad I was doing. Maybe there's something subtle in the messages being sent ? IDK. I did make it to the end, so maybe I just did it correctly. :-)
Really enjoyed this game. I would love to see more like this. Quiet little stories with thoughtful gameplay. My only feedback would be more player information on success and failures. I often felt lost as to whether or not I was succeeding in my job.
If you get a chance. Check out my game! https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462143#post-884015
Lots of "Papers, please" vibes here, I really enjoyed it :)
You know, the main problem of this game is that it doesn't give enough feedback to the player. But It has the potential to become a successor to "Papers, Please" :)
Ah man! This is the funniest game of the jam. If you expand the game further please continue the mangoes. The censorship mechanic was a pretty interesting mechanic that I found helped engage the player more in the story being told. Sound choice suited the game as well. Congrats.

Dear Atlatic,
I have recently found some new mangoes. I've been enjoying them and I'd like to find some more to know if they taste any different. Maybe that's to do with how you prepare them but the ones I had so far have all had a slightly bitter taste to them. I heard they were making some more and I am excited to try those once I get my hands on them.
Best regards, Cameron
Dear
Cameron,The mangoes I sent were plucked too early. I had to catch the
3 o clock train. Rest assured that the mango trees are healthy and and growing. After I finish this trip and go back to the farm, I'll pluck some more when they're fully ripe. Thanks for trying them however, and thank you for your interest in more.Best,
AtlaticA very fun game and it tells a real story which i find awesome!
Indeed. To learn more about censorship during the Manhattan project, read Richard Feynman's book's chapter Los Alamos From Below. A shorter but not as much fun summary is also here: https://www.atomicheritage.org/history/mail-censorship
Really great game. I would love to see a full game. Is there more than one ending?
There is more than one ending, but it seems the good ending is quite hard, as of now. I'll be doing some tuning soon to make it somewhat easier and provide more feedback to the player. Thanks for playing. :)
Very cool idea and great execution!
Thank you for playing. :)
Good game, I liked the idea! I myself had once an idea about censor simulator, and I absolutely loved your game :D
I played the game twice trying to make different censoring decision in order to have different ending, but I get the same ending. Also it's unclear how my decisions affect everything that happens in the game
But overall very good concept. I will absolutely play this game if you will continue developing it!
Thanks for playing the game, and your interest.
Yes, the good ending is somewhat hard to get. Something I'll be fixing in a post-jam version, along with intermediate reports.
I'll add a comment here when I have a second version of the game.
Very cool, but obvious inspiration from Papers Please. Would love to see a post jam update.
Glad you liked it. Yes, it's inspired by Papers, Please. I don't consider that a negative though. All platformers are also inspired by Mario.
Very good game !
Had a good laugh with some of the very blatant attempts at code.
What's interesting though, is how you start to doubt everything after a while, even things that aren't completely ridiculous : I'm still not sure if the 'divorce' thing is a code or not.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hey man, that's just some fine folks sharing their love for fruits. ;)
I like the homage! Redacting was more fun than I expected it to be!
Thanks for the feedback! When I first implemented it, this was exactly my feeling. I also found dragging and opening and closing letters fun. :)
I'll be working on a post-jam version which puts the right sort of content and depth to make this into a full game.
This feels, maybe, too much like Paper's Please. But redacting mail feels great as a point-and-click game! If there were clearer consequences for your decisions I would've been more invested in your characters.
Thanks for your feedback. I had planned to add a report card in for every day (that's the typewriter sound you hear), but I didn't get the time to. I'll do a post-jam version with that feature, and some more tuned content, rules, and win conditions.
I'm not as concerned about the similarity with Papers, Please. This is a clear homage to it, but the genre of single-screen interface games is large, and many new and exciting games can exist in it.
