Great idea but the execution was a bit off. The game lags right before the explosion goes off which often causes dots to become dashes. Also the sounds are very loud with lots of high end which is a bummer since otherwise it's great sound design.

Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it.

So many things we wanted to do, yet no time to do them in 48h :P

Thanks for playing!

Really love this one. It's such a simple concept but it's very fun and tense. The graphics and sound design are super polished as well. Great job!

Submitted(+2)

Very well made. It has really good atmosphere, and fun gameplay. It was a bit unclear that you had to type out one character at a time, but other than that its a pretty well made game.

Submitted(+2)

VERY original idea. The style and the SFX design elegantly support the design and vibe of the game. I was on edge the whole time. Great job.

Great job with this! If I were to make one QOL change, I think you'd get the point across better if there was a separate "Hold open the journal" button that you have to click rather than inputting the morse code, because as it stands you can start and then the notebook closes on its own. Still though, minor point on an otherwise great submission.

I failed the first two times because I thought I needed to type out everything in one setting. The atmosphere of the story and music & sfxs really put me on edge for a minute there! After I've beaten it on my third try, I realized... wait, aren't morse codes always tapped with one finger? And why would the book keep closing on its own?  :P Still, pretty cool game!

Developer(+3)

There's an explanation for that.

First of all, thanks for playing it. The character from the game has only one arm, which we tried to translate into the game by allowing you to use only the telegraph or look at the guide.

We made a poor job of conveying that to the player. I'm glad you liked it anyways.

Hey! I'm the game's composer. I'm glad you liked the music and that it made you nervous :D!

Fantastic my man. Your art and sound is on point. Just want to throw some ideas out there. It may be worth trying to make the sounds more chaotic as time passes so the player can get a sense of how much time has passed. And on the win screen I'd turn off the bombs falling. Had fun playing it, you did real well.

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for playing.

It makes me really happy to read you, man. The game was made by a team of four by the way, they all did an awesome job.

Of course! :-)

Very cool! I did a game jam where I made a game that featured Morse code. I hope to complete it in the future and you gave me the inspiration. thank you!

Why don't you check out my submission?

I will check it as soon as I can. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you for playing!

This was great!

The art style and atmosphere are amazing and really worked to draw me into the setting.

The gameplay was also very engaging and hard (in a good way!, i'm terrible at morse code).

If i had any constructive criticism at all, i was not able to find any explicit instruction that you should be doing one letter at a time instead of just doing the whole word at once. Maybe you could have only allowed 5 dots/dashes at a time?

But still, excellent game!

Developer(+1)

There's a few ideas we had, but couldn't make it into the game.

Showing what you've written so far.

Playing a sound when a character has been input.

As you say, adding a limit to the length.

In any case, it comes down to being more explicit about it.

Thank you for your feedback and for playing the game!

This is cool! The music and art really sell the idea and it feels very intense.

I loved the idea of the game! The art and atmosphere is great, and the gameplay works very well. Good job!

Interesting game with a great atmosphere and a cool concept. Good job !

What a unique take on the theme and great production value. While the game is very difficult I feel like that was a deliberate design choice to fit the thematic's of the game. Nice job! All 5's from me.

Submitted(+2)

Lol I'm just really bad at Morse code.

Developer(+2)

lol you suck! (don't we all suck?)

You should have seen my first try :D

I'm glad you liked it! Thank you very much for trying! I will rate your game too.

Submitted(+2)

The idea es very original, I enjoyed it a lot!

But I don't know how to use the manual. I suppose that it contains help on how to spell the characters, but I couldn't figure out how to work with it.

Anyway, good game!

Submitted(+2)

Very well crafted atmosphere and a good idea! It took me some time to figure out we where to input one letter at a time and not all the word in one go...

Developer

Oh, it's a shame to hear that.

We tried to teach you that on the main screen.

Thanks for playing, it makes us happy :D

Interesting concept.  I see these morse code games as a good way to learn.  Reminds me of Mavis Beacon games.

Developer(+1)

Definitely. I (programmer) have learnt morse during the development of the game.

Hopefully not, but in case you ever need it, remember: ... --- ...

Thanks for playing!
