Awesome all-around. Incredible atmosphere that's hard to capture in a Gameboy-like game.

I liked the light mechanics a lot and the general atmosphere is really successful, after a certain point it started to get a bit repetitive and I would have liked other concepts to be added but for a jam it's already very complete, nice work!
Really great art in this game. The light mechanic was really well done, you used the retro palette perfectly in generating a spooky deep sea feel and the *you know what* scared the shit out of me when I first came across it. Well done kadin, and as an aside, thank you for being so involved in the community, streaming so many people's games, and leaving them constructive comments. Legend!
This game is so good! Like really, really good. You nailed the gameboy-ness imo and the gameplay for me was fun even though I typically don't prefer games like this or having to do with being underwater at all XD But you managed to make it fun and creepy, atmospheric and challenging but fair. Really I can't emphasize enough, good job on this one! ITs a banger in my book
I love this game! its satisfying to play and quite scary as well, which I was not expecting. It controls so well and the flashlight an oxygen mechanics work so well. Great job!
Wow, awesome job! I love how polished and complete your game feels, and the art style is really cute!
At first I was a little bit confused what the flares are for, but as I played through your maps it became clear that flares are needed to keep track of locations and landmarks. I think it's a great idea to help players explore and understand the map on their own, especially when there is no space for mini map.
And all of this works really well because of the great map design. The fact that you can't see a lot of the time also adds to the mystery and keeps players engaged as they try to find the scientists.
I really liked your take on the submarine exploration theme, and I might have to borrow some of your ideas for my own game :)
If there was anything to nitpick on, I think the submarine's lighting state sprite could be slightly improved, the little dots coming off of the submarine follows the submarine too perfectly and doesn't feel like light rays. But otherwise I think the game is superb.
Really good game! I'm really impressed that you were able to achieve this all on your own and it shows me how much I can be able to grow. I adored everything in this game/ The visuals were fantastic and the music really helped me feel like I was part of the environment. The giant monster also helped add more suspense and weight to each mission besides the time limit slowly ticking away.
Great work! This was adorable. The art was fantastic, both the title and the sprites. I loved the cute theme too, of the cats' mission. :) I think you did just about everything right - the only [minor] issue I had was with the random catty comments, they would sometimes block my view of what was going on (and I was always in a hurry, haha), though I did like the cuteness of the commenting, it was just in the way. :) All in all, great entry, really well thought out and excellently produced.
thank you so much for the feedback! yeah that was one of the difficulty i had this jam was deciding how to add the commentary text. I definitely wanted to have more but i was thinking "hmm there's going to be times where this gets in the way and the player will get stuck or something because they cant see"
Love the music and I'm a big fan of 2D games that play with light mechanics!
