nice work, good concept and very in line with the theme. Double jump would be cool to do next maybe? I also would love to squish the little bad guys. good work
Very original and good idea that a tiny world is inside a bottle. It is impressive that you have created everything on your own! You can definitely expand upon this idea, with ships, decks and pirate crews inside bottle levels.
I love the idea that the whole level would take place inside a bottle. And with all the different types and sizes of bottles out in the world, the level possibilities are many! It’s pretty impressive that you soloed a full game and all the assets. Great work!
Cool game, nice idea to have the bottle as part of the level design, really goes well with the theme. Though i couldnt figure out how to go ahead in the game haha, but would love to see more levels and some way for the player to 'break the bottle' somehow :D
Thanks for the appreciation :). Infact , i did had the idea that there would be a player stomp or a dash action with varying force(force meter indicating for how long the stomp button action was pressed), allowing the player to make cracks at a point in the bottle and then swim out from it earlier, but due to time constraints could not implement that.
I think it's really cool that you made all your own assets. I was trying to see if there was a way to win the game but I couldn't figure it out :O Sorry if I missed something obvious. I wish there was a bit of coyote time. Maybe it was there but I didn't notice any there. Really cool though that you made everything yourself :D
Thanks for the appreciation :). Actually, i wanted to expand the game by adding a cork or cap at the end of the bottle by blasting that out using a puzzle and to jump on top of the bottle and go back to collect a piece and end the game or another idea was to move the bottle as a ship, but due to time constraints, I was not able to implement that. Currently there is no win condition, i should have added another level once the player had exited the bottle or something similar.
Nice game idea. It has a lot of potential and with some further polishing it would be even better.
This is a nice start to what could be a decent platformer.
I also make my own assets during the jam so I know the it increases the challenge because you need to allow time to create the art, sounds, music and the game, all within the timeframe.
As others have said, there needs to be goal to give you a target to aim for, and then you can probably add more levels. With the concept being close to ships in bottles, you could also add items you need to pick up that look like little sailing ships? Maybe that's what needs collecting to progress past the cork at the end (when you implement it).
Thanks for the game.

THEME wise, you've got a nice idea here - I like the idea of being caught in a bottle holding a miniature ship. I like that you have little pirates running around and I like that you've made these assets all on your own - producing art work at any level (especially if you are not an artist) is always challenging. So good work on this and the setup. I think a few things to consider would have been:
Good luck and see you next year hopefully for another GameDev.TV jam.
Thanks a lot for your constructive feedback and suggestions. Very cool concept! The visuals are simple but effective, and the idea of the bottle remember me to the ship bottles, I think would be a nice point in that way.
The small enemies roaming around are in strategic points and have a cute design, though it would have been nice to have a way to interact with them beyond just avoiding damage. The platforming itself is basic, but it works, and I can see the potential for more if the idea is developed further. Overall, it’s a promising little prototype with a unique setting, keep it up!
I couldn't quite figure out what to do besides jump around but I love the old school graphics / jump sound. I probably was missing something, I'll definitely give it another go if there was something I didn't figure out 😃
