well rounded game with lot's of work put into.
but i have to wonder: is the upgrade system working as intended? I put all upgrades into crossbow damage and it stayed on 5.8 damage the entire time...

This looks, plays, and sounds fun. It's a 10 out of 10 for a one-week game jam. I had a lot of fun playing it. Right now, somehow, the difficulty is balanced, and it's so fun. I love the upgrades. The only flaw is that it seems like the in-game cards were not stacking( but this somehow makes the game very balanced). Other than this, everything is great! Keep developing this!

I can't believe it was made for a game jam and in such a short time. I enjoyed playing it, good job!

It is a fun little game that feels good to play. I loved the auto shooting, which did not disappoint in aiming always at the closest enemy. The upgrades are great and I did wish that at some point the axe or the crossbow would one-shot the enemy, but the damage I got maxed out at 5.8 for the crossbow and 5.5 for the axe. The last thing that I would like to see is how many portals I went through. Congrats on the game and well done! :D

in fact, you have a permatent upgrade (on the title screen) that allows you to raise your chances of one shootkng enemies. You have also an upgrade that allows you to avoid being hut… but few players see that. I should have put more emphasis on it, as it’s one of the core mechanics…

Anyway! Thank you for playing and for your feed back!

YESSS, After you mentioned that there is a permanent upgrades, I played the game again to try and get that sweet one-shot damage.
it is not intuitive to exit the run to get the upgrades, as you said, you really should have placed it somewhere else, maybe on the next level menu

Great game! When I took the crossbow damage upgrade, my crossbow didn't do any more damage. The skeleton animations were awesome, and I liked the gameplay; it was fun. Go ahead and check out my game submission for the Jam. It's minigolf on planets, let me know what you think

This was fun, definitely an addictive wee game and right up my street with the type of gameplay & mechanics i enjoy implementing myself. I spotted this as it seemed similar to my own game with the roguelike style & being set in hell so was really curious ^^ and didn't disappoint, well done!

This was really good. Best game I've played so far. I learned a lot about keeping things simple and fun in a jam by playing your game. Thanks!

This game has the bones of a really good time! Polishing this would make it really good to play! Implementing an upgrade system in the span of a game jam is an impressive feat!

Me personally I would have liked to be able to aim myself at what enemy I want to hit.  And maybe have a dash of sorts :)

Nice work!

Tbh, my first prototype was using a manual aiming but I found it too punishing because if you have a very low rate of shoot as you have at the beginning and you mish your shot, it cans feel a little bit frustrating. But, the more I see the comments and people playing it, the more I think I should have stuck with the manual aiming... Thank you for the feed back!

It is a personal preference in the end, maybe give the option

I liked the feel of the character movement.  More weapons and more monster variation would round out the game nicely.  One potential bug:  I noticed that my crossbow damage didn't change as I acquired upgrades.

That’s a really solid game, and it’s fun to play.

The game is amazingly fun, especially since you can fall off the platform.

Had a great time with this one. The world getting tinier and tinier is a nice take on the theme.

Such a solid game, so simple and fun. Everything feels so polished and smooth. I would avoid going into the portal just to see how far I could go in each level.

It grow up is slow but is a great implementation, congrats!

Really fun to play, the upgrades make it replayable, and the waves are great. I did notice a bug at times where evade would send you across the map.

Tbh, I did notice too, but notr enough time to debug it :)
Thanks for playing!
