Really fun game! The combat system reminds me of paper mario with the timed elements, I did have a small bug where the music got jittery as I walked.

Thanks for playing! Paper Mario was one of our biggest influences for this! We have uploaded a downloadable windows version of the game if you wanted to try a more performant build. Unfortunately FMOD and WebGL require some pretty extreme levels of optimization in order to run seamlessly on some devices. Thanks again for the feedback and letting us know about your latency issues!

Just to chime in here - I didn't know FMOD would cause any performance issues, good to know. I only didn't go FMOD on my entry cos I was lazy and didn't feel like hooking up all the events and stuff.

BTW did you know Unity uses FMOD under the hood (though presumably an *ahem* Unity-tier stripped down version of it) - I only learned that during this jam...

You caught my attention with the title, and it was worth it! Great game overall—very original transition from the 3D room to the ant world with a more retro vibe.

Amazing game, it was a lot of fun, and the QTE TPT reminded me of Clair-Obscur :Expedition 33 to some level, that's a VERY good idea to made the classic Turn per turn system more thrilling, I think it
should become way more present in future game!
Anyway extremely cool and fun game :D

Great twist on the traditional JRPG combat with the button presses. The theme was great and the music fit the game nicely.

Incredible game! Surprised me with the first encounter. The turn based interactive combat is super unique I loved it. Good job!

What a beautiful little world you've created here, in game form. From the aesthetics to the combat system, I had a lot of fun, all the way up to and through taking down Antagonist 1. Very cool, would love to see an expansion or a larger scope similar game. RPGs are back baby! Now with more action!

Really nicely done! I love how you were able to implement bosses and they all felt unique in their fighting style. The controls were intuitive and I liked the blend of turn based with reaction based skill for the fights. Impressive work

Absolutely Amazing!. Very Polished. You are a very good team. The only thing I might add is that I would like to have a way to get a critical hit. Other than that just perfect. This is a candidate for the First place in the gamejam

A really solid entry! Adored the beginning cutscene zooming into the board. Theming was great, I'd have to say that the random encounters got a bit monotonous but the bosses were great. All in all a really great game, congrats to the team that worked on it!

Hey haha Careful with the name and copyright issues.... VERY similar to... You know what game :P

I enjoyed the music. Very nice one. Where did you get it from?

I liked the battle system, with the Q or E to execute bonuses. A bit monotonous to be always the same button and speed. Maybe randomizing that would add more challenge and unexpected dexterity required.

I found it hard to progress because I needed to go back and heal after every battle haha maybe some potions to carry around would have been helpful (or a partner).

I think the UI for turns who's coming next could have been improved. Weird layout. I didnt even notice it after a few battles and not sure how that wsa calculated. But a nice idea. Like other tactics games (final fantasy tactics? :P)

I loved the world. 2.5 D kind of. On a table. Didnt get the story much... But nice detail of the leaves as scarf in the ant. Overall this was a good game I've found so far in this jam <3

Congratulations!

P.D. hey make sure to check out my game. There's a link below this message. Your honest feedback is appreciated to become a better developer! I turned 3 months old this day as a gameDev :D

All of the music and SFX was made by Spicer Audio.

Cool game, I liked the combination of quick time events and traversing the environment. It got a little bit repetitive towards the end so a suggestion for future development could be to give the player some progression like gear drops or a skill tree :D I hope you had fun making it, and good job creating such a cohesive experience with a team of 6 people! Well done!

Super impressive what you put together here!

This is the full package with a story, interesting art style, combat, audio, and a complete world to go through. I really liked that it was all taking place on the living room table and you could still see the room in the background, a very fun touch. Also: Antagonist 1 was successfully downed.

Outstanding work!

Your game is easily one of the best in the Jam, or, at least, the one I played that most caters to my preferences.

In such little time you've put together a great combat system and an interesting and balanced assortment of enemies that work well together, so the game is challenging, fair and fun. I just found the timing wheel to be a bit hard to follow, it felt like there weren't enough frames to capture all its nuances, but I was still able to get the timing right for almost all of the enemies, except for the flea, that was a really hard one.

When I first ran the game, yesterday, it was extremely laggy. I don't know if it was a bug you patched up or something on my side. Also, first time playing it today I got the main menu music stuck, so I didn't hear any of the game soundtrack. Had to start over and hear them, but that bug was something browser side, I'd wager.

Everything you guys did here has excellence, the art, music and mechanics are all beautiful. Up until now, my favourite game in the Jam.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it. We uploaded a patch yesterday due to an audio issue that caused some lag so it's great to hear it worked better for you today.

What an amazing game!

wow you all made an interesting game. It felt like a real rpg game. I enjoy the map layout you did and the way you set up the enemies. I also enjoy the twist how you use qte to help out with attack and defense. Reminds me of games like sea of stars and lost odysses.  Plus great story and all.  You all really did something awesome here :)

Such a nice game.
Love the idea of the Ant looking for the children and battle along the way.
Also, the visuals are great, love the aesthetics.

Dam good combat sytem there , nice game! <3

I really like the combat mechanic of actively influencing the attack or defence.  The transition into / out of combat is really smooth too.  Nice job!

If this game is developed further, I think it could be a game that could be sold. Overall, it's very good. It's just that I'm old and can't read the text clearly.

Submitted(+1)

Holy moly! What a game! Very well thought, amazing visuals, the qte mechanics is well made. The only remark I have is when entering battles maybe add some fading to the foreground objects (for instance trees) that may block the view. I mean the characters do still get shown on the foreground during battles, but it doesn't look so great. Would love to see this as a full game in the future

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we had discussed adding a shader for cutting out stuff in front of characters but went with just changing the layering due to time constraints. Glad you enjoyed it!
