Really gorgeous art and neat music, with the curses actually being  a bit annoying at times. Really enjoyed the game, good job!

Wow!  You got quite a lot done.  I did find switching between the different sections a bit jarring with the discontinuity of it.  But nice art and sound design.

Super polished game, great work team! The end battle confused me a bit, I liked all the unique game mechanics though for each minigame. Having my fists always shoot fire I think hurt me because the fireballs bounced off the shielded towers and hit me. More ingame hints as to what to do for the boss battle would be nice as well as some visual and audio feedback on when you take damage. Great game! I uploaded a gameplay and impressions video on my youtube channel: https://youtu.be/41DHviB5zNA

Thanks for playing. Thanks especially for recording your gameplay and thoughts! That's super useful.

(You were so close to the end! I felt like you were on the cusp of solving it a couple of times. We'll definitely have to work on player feedback, to let players know when they're on the right track.)

Thanks again.

Wow, great work! I personally liked the pace, I think short fast paced games are great for jams where you're playing a lot of different ones in a row!

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Thanks.

I really wanted to include an "arcade" section with a bunch of sokoban levels, an endless runner mode, and a procedurally generated dungeon crawler... but scope was already getting away from us. So maybe that'll be version two.

Like others have said, the art style is really great and definitely stands out. I appreciate how you re-used a lot of the pre-existing game mechanics in the boss fight (It would have been cool if all three gameplay styles came back in some way, although I'm not sure how you'd incorporate the runner section- which is probably why you didn't lol)

I think the game gets a little hard to read during the boss fight. I kept taking damage from bugs I didn't really notice and walking off ledges trying to line myself up for the block puzzle.

I feel like the game goes too fast and jumps between ideas really quickly.  It would have been nice if you got some more time to enjoy the sections of the game at your own pace.

Also, In my opinion, I feel like the movement could have been better for the top-down sections, and the final boss would be better if they weren't so damage spongy with some strong feedback to indicate that you are damaging a giant angel-statue-thing.

Away from my critiques, the art is S-Tier, especially for a game jam; It looks like the art style of an old diablo-like MMO game, though I can definitely see that some corners had to be cut for the runner section which is a shame because that's my favorite part of the game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! and yeah the runner section was an addition I couldn't quite get to for the art for the time we had left so had to cut some corners on it if we wanted it in.

I wish I could always have a devil help me "solve" the block pushing parts of games.

Really liked the 2d runner section.  The zoom out after getting super-speed was a neat effect.

Final boss may have had a bit too much health for me.  Managed to get him on my third try once I realised that there were less bug enemies to deal with if you stood off the platform.

Thanks.
The side towers near the conveyor belts are the key.
That was probably too obscure. we should have made it more evident.

Brute forcing the boss fight worked for me anyway so its all good (and maybe even on-theme to take the devil powers and skip the usual game mechanics).

Very interesting little game! Quite, erm, colorful use of the theme. :) Over all, I thought the gameplay felt a little disconnected between the mini-games, but the art and music were so stellar it almost didn't matter. Genuinely an impressive feat of a game! You should definitely consider extending this beyond the jam.

Really cool game. I liked the graphics, the audio and also the gameplay. I just got the fire shooting looping. not sure if that was intended. I had no control or accessability issues and I also liked to have this boss fight to finish the game. The playing Sound in the settings for audio was nice too. Good Job team and well done!

Oh, getting some Hades vibes here. I felt like I should have been able to do something interesting with the boxes when fighting the angel. After 4 attempts he died anyway :D

Cool entry, i had fun playing it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

The boxes definitely can be used to win the boss fight, but maybe not exactly how the devil tells you to use them.

This was a really cool game! Pretty insane looking for one week. It kind of reminds me of the game Hades which is really cool. I like the characters and the general feel of the game quite a bit. Did you use the dialogic add on for the dialogue system? Great job on the submission!

Developer(+1)

Yes! Dialogic is such a great add-on!

I used to code all dialogs myself, but I always felt like it was time-wasted. Dialogic has saved countless hours across multiple game jams now.

This game is awesome. I love the fact that its just a chaotic collection of mini-gams. It kept me engaged the entire time. The art is awesome, but the dialog is better!

Submitted(+3)

Fantastic submission! The art, sound, and music were all great and the mini-games were fun too! The user interface elements were also stylized very well and generally consistent with one another. Great attention to detail!

Submitted(+2)

Great story, great gameplay, great art, great music. Really polished overall.

Submitted(+2)

Really enjoyed this! Graphics are s-tier and your game feels like a well thought out concept. Everything feels really well put together, no idea how you got a game done in 9 days when it looks like 9 days worth of pre-production hahah

Super polished entry!!

Submitted(+2)

Short, sweet, fun. What more can you ask?

Well done!

Submitted(+3)

Amazing visuals and lots of variety with all of the types of minigames.  I got a bit confused with all the chaos happening in that final stage but I gotta say that was a heck of a final boss!  Also cool to see a game with dialogue and a few characters.

Submitted(+2)

Great visual style! I did not entirely understand the shield mechanic in the boss fight (could not get the boxes to align with the floor) - but it was an interesting idea to put a puzzle in there. You've also combined a lot of different mechanics in the game, which is nice. Solid entry!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing.

Super original! Great narrative, clever representation of the theme not only in the mechanics, but in the dialogue as well! The graphics are a bit wonky, but it gives lots of charm to the game! Great entry!

Love the art work.  Could be a little easier to control.  Captured the theme really well
